  1. True PDR guys are pretty well trained. They use special tools to slowly massage the dent up and make sure that they're not applying too much pressure. But yeah....they're more like "metal masseuse" then dent poppers.
  2. So I go to work today, and park on the 5th level - AWAY from everyone else to avoid any dings on my beeutifool lexus. So I return to the car and what do I see? A HUGE FAT BLACK BIRD (crow or raven?) WALKING AROUND ON MY ROOF RANDOMLY PECKING AT ITS REFLECTION! wtf mother nature?! wtf?!
  3. I bought a 2006 Lexus GS430 from www.nashauto.com 4 weeks ago. Paid about $31,000 for car with 27k miles on it. They're an independent dealer and they go to the same auctions that Official Lexus dealers go to get their used cars. I visited multiple Lexus dealers - Cerritos, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, Westminster. All in all, these guys get their used cars from the same source. It took me 3 weeks to buy because I'm a very thoughtful person when spending big money. I ended up buying from Nash Auto, because their prices were lower than all the dealers by 5k-10k. I think only Westminster could match the price but that was on a car that had 68k miles on it. The salespeople were pretty low pressure. There's only 2 or 3 of them. To test drive the cars, they photocopied my license and let me drive off on my own. I didn't have someone talking in my ear as I was trying to evaluate the car. In the end, I saved a LOT of money and I think the vehicles are equal quality to the ones you'd find at the official Lexus lots. I was acctually put off my the Newport Beach Lexus btw - the salesman I was talking to there lied about the car I was looking at. Claimed that it was completely local, when car fax clearly showed it was mostly driven in Colorado!!!! Anyways, give them a look if you're interested.
  4. My friend drives a 1997 ES300. I the outside looks like puke, but I think the inside has very very high quality leather and plastics. It's been 11 years, and the interior is still pristine looking. Hated the exteriors of the Lexuses back in the 90s though.

  6. Thanks guys! :D One of my housemates drives a Lexus IS250, and told me he'd kill me if I got a IS350. I was about to buy a brand new V6 Honda Accord when I was able to get this car for the same price, so I went with Lexus. Came home and parked it in the garage right next to my housemate's IS250. All he could say was "You *BLEEP*!" But yeah, I've had the car for about 2.5 weeks now, and I reallly love the drive. And it's a weird feeling to have pride in what I'm driving for the 1st time in my life. I'm 27 and was driving a beat up 1991 Honda Accord since I was 16. Got to 300k miles before it gave out. I work in a very affluent area, and it was a funny sight in the parking lot: Bentley, high end Mercedes, BMWs, and inbetween was my beat up H-less Honda Accord. Now I fit in ;___; Kinda.
  7. I've driven a lot of cars, and I don't understand this "excitement" people talk about. I think I got kinda giddy when I was driving a Shelby Mustang GT, but that was because of the rumble and look. It's all peachy to me.
  8. Hey guys. I just bought a 2006 GS430 with 27k miles on it for $31k. It's silver, black interior, and chrome wheels. It seems to be in perfect condition. I've had it checked out by some engineer and mechanic friends and they give it a thumbs up. Comes with all sorts of things - bluetooth, navigation, mark levinson radio thing, a back up camera and I think it can play DVDs or something. The interior is immaculate. Kinda had my heart set on a black car when I started searching, but I think I made the right choice with silver. Very attached to the color and look now.
