  1. it is man. the top radiator hose feeding into the engine is right where it is. i changed mine to a safe anti overheat thermo. just take off the top hose and its right there at the entrance into the engine. watch the overflow of coolant. good luck = ]
  2. thanks man. definetly. unfortunately i'm on vacation in san diego right now and i miss my car haha i've seen about 25 SC's out here too. it takes care of me and god knows i take care of it. = ]
  3. is there any way you could show us a picture of that?
  4. I think you would be able to get a mounting frame probably from a junk yard from any car right? since all license plates are the same size i can't see why it would matter. I hope this picture helps you with the location. good luck. :D
  5. what i love the most about it is that this car doesn't scream LOOK AT ME. no fancy spoilers, no obnoxiously loud exhaust that sound terrible, nothing fake about yet. however it will still blow the doors off most anything out there...! then take us for a long drive to where ever we want in style and comfort...it doesn't lack ride quality for performance whatso ever..its the best of both worlds = ] tell me what you think about my photo shoot too if you wouldn't mind = ] its a few topics up
  6. oh and here are a few of them after i fooled around with them a little bit. some of them look like legit advertisements?
  7. hey everyone. today after i washed up my car i decided to take it down to the local beach and spent some good time taking a lot of pictures for a project im making up. here are a few of my favorite ones from today. tell me what you think !
  8. could anybody give me some symptoms of bad tranny mounts? clunking into R or D when stopped? small thud when you let off the gas and get back on the gas?
  9. Well i thought i would share with all of you what happened today in my Lexus. it was very scary and i can't say how lucky i am to be out of it okay. i was driving to autozone in the SC4. just like any other day...when im driving down a strip road speed limit is roughly 40-50 mph or so. so anyways im just cruisin at 50 mph not thinking anything of what was going on when i approach an intersection. my light is green and nobody is in front of me. i proceed through the intersection staying in my lane. when some IDIOT decides to make an illegal U-turn through the intersection. i can't stress enough the words "right as i was passing through" he came directly into my lane....if there was any words i could say to describe where i was when he did this i would say this...i was JUST breaking the stop line of the intersection. going 50 mph. in my lane. when he does this stupid act. my heart sank and i had no idea what to do, how to react, i prepared for the worst... my instincts made me cut the wheel as far away from them as i could. which resulted my car spinning out going 50 mph. *i avoided them* and i also want to add that it did not spin out at first, it held the road like it was on a string and steered away from a head on collision. the spin out occured after i was safely past them and trying to avoid the sidewalk / curb / guard rail. so here i am spinning around on a main road from 50mph and coming to a screeching halt sideways. all while having my brake pedal to the floor. the angle at which my sc400 must have had to steer is remarkable to me to have avoided them..to think that a 16 year old car still has the potential to pull lateral G's like it did amazes me. from 50mph to turning on a DIME like it must have had to...THHEN it was a combination of the ABS system and TRAC system working to perfection to keep my car from smashing into the guard rail and locking the tires up. this would have been a direct head on collision for me had my car not done what it did. i dont want to say it saved my life but there is a chance it may have. we own serious machines here guys. mine proved it to me today. cheers to our cars
  10. hey man i have a 93' and its absolutely bullet proof. nothing wrong with it, everything works great. 163k and no end in sight. :D
  11. hey man i changed mine to LED's. They are annoying pieces of _____. however they simply pull straight out of the socket. no twisting, no nothing it just simply pulls straight out. goodluck
  12. this is merely a suggestion because my car does this too when its cold out and the first few stops...it feels like a sudden thumpppppp. possibly tranny mounts? maybe unless your positive its the transmission that would be a good place to start before replacing the entire transmission...once again just a thought.
  13. thanks a lot. maybe i'll reset them back to stocks and see if that fixes anything
  14. yeah man thats what im saying..its probably 2 dollars worth of metal and 1 dollar worth of plastic and 50 cents worth of ink....218 dollars to combine the 3 !
  15. sorry i call them running lights just because i have them on every time i drive. the parking lights to be exact. the oranges on the sides and the tiny lights inside the headlight housing. those ones inside the headlight housing are the ones flashing like strobe lights. they are connected to the factory wires to power those. just a different bulb and they worked fine for months up til a few days ago
  16. Hey everyone im not sure whats going on here...I have LED running lights in my headlights and they have been working flawlessly up til the other day. Suddenly both the left and right bulbs don't turn on anymore. the fog lights still work fine and the headlights do too. however today i turn on my running lights switch and to my surprise...both are FLASHING like strobe lights..as in like cop lights. so i pull up behind people with flashing white lights in my front lights :D as cool as this is i am wondering what in the world happened...cause its obviously not right. is this a circuit issue? electrical issue? loose connection? i have no idea. i do find it strange that both would burn out at the same time but apparently they arent burnt out since they think they are a patrol car now..suggestions?
  17. orrrr you could go on ebay and just type in 9006 HID conversion kit. they are probably anywhere from 50$ to 100$. donnnnt get the cheeapo ones for under 20$, cause they are just bulbs there are not "balasts". the ballast is that capicitor you saw. a ballast powers your HID's to make them ten times brighter and more blinding to other motorists. which we know is the fun part. :D the kits are for your headlights only however. (low beams) they are very easy to install. it could take me about 20 minutes. all you do is pull out the old bulbs, put the HID bulbs in, and connect a wire from the ballast to the stock headlight power source. then hide the ballast and your good to go. i am not positive how to do fog lights or high beams. hi-beams are ten times harder to get at since the radiator is in the way, and to be honest the amount of time you have them ON wont be worth the extra 50-100 dollars for an HID kit. so for those, my suggestion is what i have done to my car. My Headlight Setup: 8000K 9006 HID low beams. HID bulb only for Hi-beams. and LED lights for the fog lights. they look really well and from a distance all appear the same color. its much cheaper and still has a really nice look to it. i hope this helps. HID's are my specialty haha
  18. hmm alright sounds good i'll search ebay right now. ill let you know what i find
  19. Hey everyone i am having an issue with my key. i dropped it and the black plastic area has a big crack and it seperated...the lock mechanism is pushed well within the key and cannot be used anymore. i went to the lexus dealer to ask about getting a SIMPLE new key....they say yeah sure 218 dollars will get me a new key...= [ what could i possibly do? i have to unlock and lock my car with the side door lock amd its just annoying to carry around a broken key.
  20. wow man that thing is absolutely beautiful. I already have one myself though. So I wouldn't be able to buy a second one but im curious as to what you have for two other cars if your getting rid of that beauty? haha it better not be anything less than a Ferrari and Lamborghini... :D
  21. to continue the story, i noticed a small puddle of tranny fluid every time i parked somewhere which bothered me a lot. so i was down an additional quart of tranny fluid by this time. i put that in, and with a socket wrench tightened the bolt as much as i could. as of now tranny shifts fine. doesnt take any abnormal time to get in gear, and there are no more puddles. :D
  22. to make a long story short i decided to do my first oil change myself. and i got under there and drained the transmission pan by accident then i went ahead thinking i drained oil and put 5 quarts into my engine. i then thought i was done and went to go to work...i put it in reverse and it toook about 5 seconds to engage which i thought was weird...then i backed out into the street and popped into D and sat and waited for about 10 seconds went by until it slammed into gear...i took about around the block and it was just awful shifting for lack of a better word. so i realized wat i did and put 2 quarts of tranny fluid in and bought 5 more quarts of oil..now everything appears to be fine. the tranny shifts beautifully. however, the problem is every morning when i back out into the street. it stillll takes a while to engage when i put it in drive. its definetly longer than normal which upsets me...tranny fluid level is fine. wats wrong? = [
  23. thankkk you very much i will check it out tomorrow morning and see if its blown. suppose its not blown...then what should the next step be?
  24. make sure you bought the right bulb...if it said LED bulb then the light will not go off! read the box to see if it says LED anywhere on the box as the type of bulb because if its that bulb the car will not recognize it as being a replacement but still a burnt out regular.
  25. i just bought a new radar detector and i go to plug it and realize it had no power. so i assume this is just a blown fuse to the ciggarette lighter. i know the fuse box is under the hood and i can find it..im just not sure which fuse is to the lighter....if its not the fuse, then what else could it possibly be? please let me know wat could be going on here. Thank you !
