hey everyone i have a few new issues and concerns of mine to present for analyzing. * I am worried that my automatic transmission is on its way to failing since as i approach a stop, everyone in the car can feel the transmission THUD out of gear as we come to a stop. If this transmission fails i would be very interested in replacing it with a manual tranny but i have no idea how much it would cost. so if anyone has any idea what the whole procedure of putting a new manual transmission would cost me please let me know! * I am also thinking i may have some warped rotors. Every time the car is in reverse and i put the brakes on, i feel another THUD of contact from the brake pedal engaging something. this only happens in reverse? because going forwards produces no noise what so ever. also, if i am in place or barely moving (BACKWARDS) if i pump the brake pedal, the whole car seems to pitch and lean and react to my pressing the brake pedal. LOL WHAT IS GOING ON? please anyone with any thoughts share them!

so everybody i finally got my own answer to my own topic. i got more exhaust work done today and it was eliminating both resonators that i had left and let me say i am more than satisfied. the noise is amazing and it isnt "over the top" the sound in between 1-2k rpm is amazing when im going down a main street it just grumbles nicely. so unforutantely no true duals but just allll deleted resonators. ill post a video soon.

defenetly don't be scared of the MPG of these cars...i deliver pizza in mine usually 5 nights a week. so on average i do about 60 miles per night and my tank lasts a little over a week and averages out to anywhere from 18-21 mpg CITY. i am also 17 so i have a tendency to show people that my Lexus is faster than their honda every now and then and i still fill up once a week and it cost me about 50 dollars from a quarter tank.

hey thank you very much thats an incredibly meaan sound! i will def do that next with my exhaust and if you would like i would post a video because mine will sound slightly different since i already have aftermarket turbo mufflers. thank you very much..just one more question how much did it cost you to run true duals and delete everything? cause it already cost me 500 to have 1 res deleted, 2 new mufflers put on...= /

haha that is ok i can wait..right now im dissapointed with how quiet it is..so i will see about running true duals or the high flow cat. i would just like to hear your video haha

hey i am just wondering if i were to purchase tail lights after they changed the look of them would they fit on a 93' which still had the older tails? by fit im not concerned with size of the light cause im sure its the same but im talking about bulb placement inside the trunk and trying to get past the steel wall of the trunk. thanks !

hey just lettin you know..i hope everything goes well out there with your family..because you could shoot an SC with a rocket launcher and dump it off a cliff and it would still start right back up and drive away. ;) best of luck to ya

hey guys, i recently put an exhaust system on my car with the assurance from the company that it wouldnt be an obnoxious loud! sound...and it cost me 500 bucks and it turns out to be quieter than stock up until like 4k rpm in which is has some sound...now im just wondering what else could be done...right now i have cat --> deleted resonator --> 2 more resonators--> 2 new mufflers...im thinking of deleting the 2 remaining res's but im not sure what differnce it will make...if anyone can reccomend a good solution or brand of exhaust i would greatly appreciate it because im looking just about for the tone of a 350z / g35 NOISE LEVEL...i know it wont sound like those cars but volume wise that is what im aiming for. thanks in advance

Well the only thing is that you would need enough ground clearence to get a saw blade under there (preferably a power blade) to make a clean cut...i would try it yourself because i spent 500 bucks to watch guys do a job easy enough for me to do with the right tools and im dissapointed with how quiet mine is...

hey i think i know what it is...if its not your throttle sensor...try testing your Mass Airflow Sensor..when this goes bad it can cause the engine to run like crap..by crap i mean veryyy rough and choppy idling and driving..you could try to start your engine, then remove the Mass airflow sensor and see if the rough idling goes away..this will throw up some check engine codes but they will go away as soon as you put the sensor back in. let me know if this works

yup my seat is fine its definately from the engine...im hoping its not the cat because it sounds like its from that area..its just like suppose your in neutral...you decide to rev it up a bit to about 4k wen you stop revving and the rpms start to come down...you hear a strange noise that lasts barely 1 second but its defenetly a rasp that isnt supposed to be there...the rugs and all fine and i looked underneath and the piping seems fine..i may have it looked at by my local exhaust shop. :(

come onn lol anyone? its embarrassing when people ask to hear the engine and then they hear this noise too

hey, sorry if im being annoying on here its just that the help is greatly appreciated...well i have a 93 SC400 and since i bought it, a strange noise comes out from what seems like near the engine or right under my seat...if you rev the motor up to about 3k its fine...but anything after 3k, on the downfall of RPM there will be this almost choking sound that scratches..it kinda sounds like some1 is clearing their throat...its the kind of sound that i can tell is not supposed to be there unlike crackling of exhaust from high revving comin out of the exhaust its a distinguishable sound to be un-needed. any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks :)

hey, i have a feeling i may know what it is...it sounds like it could be a battery / altenator problem...your battery may have a dead cell and wont hold a charge (the little charge it receives from running for 10 minutes will diminish), its either in need of a new battery, OR your altenator may be non functional...to test your altenator, try this : start the car for ex. when you said it starts, while its running disconnect your battery ports...if the engine stalls then its the altenator that is the problem, if the engine runs fine then its the battery since the altenator runs the motor from being ON. let me know if either of these were the problem. good luck

hey everyone im trying to decide whether or not to buy a cold air intake...they generally go for about 250-300$ on ebay with shipping..now im just wondering from anyone who may already have one is it really worth the 300 dollars for a 93 sc400? i have seen the difference it makes on little honda civic motors, but we arent talking VTEC we're talking a lexus v8. so any input from anyone such as HP gains, MPG increase or decrease, and sound please let me know! thanks

hello..i have a 93 SC400 and everything is fine except my fuel gauge. i know the car has a 20 gallon tank...and when i fill up..the car goes up to the F mark on the gauge...however the meter drops violently witrh everyday driving..and so i fill up when the warning light comes on..and it fills up with 11-12 gallons??? can anyone pleas tell me what is going on or what it may cost to have it looked at? thanks because i hate being unsure of how much gas i actually have left. thanks in advance

this is the light saying your tailights are out...if it looks like a car facing upwards...with little dashes comin from the rear...then its the tail-light warning light

hey there um well the oil was changed, gotta new battery, all the fluids appear to be up to the full line...and now the car is running incredible just as it is designed to...just today i got an SS 409 custom exhaust for it but kept all the resonators and cats so its mellow but loud too kinda and i love it..but thank you very much for your input

i just brought the car to a radiator shop today to have it looked at and @ 4psi the radiator blew coolant everywhere...so unfortuanetly they hit me with $ 394.00 for a new rad. plus instal.

hi guys i am new to the club today since i have registered my first SC400 last week. however the car sat for a long time..nearly 3 years before i bought it from a friend. the first day i took it out...the engine heat gauge went through the roof and when i pulled in the driveway it was nearly to the red (1 line left) when i shut it off steam went everywhere...so it was kinda scary and i hadnt drove it again in fear of ruining the bullet-proof engine it had. the mechanic came over and looked at everything, (the day before i replaced the thermo, and both hoses thinking they were the source of the overheat) however we spotted a tiny drip from the radiator top :( ...after he filled it up with a TON more coolant than i thought it could handle, we took it for a ride and the overheat stopped and so did the dripping from the radiator?? now every day i hop in it and drive it everywhere and it doesnt overheat but still what bothers me is that every now and then i see a small little puddle of coolant in my driveway..it seems as though only when im driving it will drip but when it has been off for a while, it holds its fluids. if anyone would like to give me some input on what to do next or to watch out for i would be very appreciative. i love this car to death already and i dont want anything to happen to it. Plus i feel like the man being 17 and driving one of these B)
