  1. Very simple, just hook up a vinyl hose (aquarium hose) to the bleeder screw and place the hose into a small container that has enough brake fluid to cover the other end of the hose.(Located under the red cover on the abs). Loosen the screw and start you engine. Shut off and close the bleeder. You may have to do this several times. While you're at it you may as well bleed the accumulator located just forward of the Master Cylinder.
  2. Thanks Jbar - compressor w/ clutch replaced within the last year with a rebuilt unit. Guy who installed it and another mechanic say it checks out fine. Any other ideas? ← ← Thanks a lot Teelias! will give that a try and let you know. Can you please tell where an aftermarket expasion valve can be found? ←
  3. :chairshot: Yes, Take it to a reputable shop. If there is almost a vacuum on the low side, replace the expansion valve that is located in the evaportor box under the passenger side glove compartment. Just went through that. The expansion valve gets plugged up and the compressor engages for a few seconds, disengages, and then the dreaded flashing A/C light. Hope this helps. The expansion valve is only $65 after market or $125 Lexus. Thanks Jbar - compressor w/ clutch replaced within the last year with a rebuilt unit. 4. :cries: I believe my A/C compressor bearing is going south. It loads down the engine and the clutch will only stay engaged for ~ 5 secs. Then, the dreaded flashing A/C light. Has anyone rebuilt one? Any tutorials? Any pics? What is the bearing Part Number? Any info would be appreciated. teelias@hotmail.com

  7. Fortunately, I have a 92 and a 93 SC400. Swapped out the Mass Air Flow Sensor to no avail. Light still on. I am going to change out the O2 sensors. I am getting a code 25. Will let you know. The only problem is that I lose traction control when these lights come on and in South Dakota, that is not a good thing.
  8. What did the dealer say about your Check Engine and Trac lights being on??? teelias@hotmail.com Its going to the dealer tomorrow to figure out what code its throwing and from there I will make my decision to just have them fix it or to do it myself. I will probably opt for them to fix it because its cold here in Michigan and I need my traction control to work. Thanks for everyones input. ←
  9. Same problem, If it is not the speakers, according to the Lexus repair manual it is the main control unit (Radio, tape player)
  10. Tune your radio to 94.9. Press your key button. If you hear it on the radio, the key is working. Reprogram as above. If not, your transponder in your key is shot.
  11. Drivers side only on the 1992, passenger side was added in 1993. $8500 is a little steep. Check E-bay teelias@hotmail.com

  16. What is the easiest way to inspect the timing belt. I have ordered the manuals but until I receive them, this is the only guidance I have.
  17. I'd like to thank all of you for the valuable info on this site. However, have any of you changed the timing belt. I spoke with a Lexus mechanic and he said you could do it in ~5-6 hours. Is that true? Do you change the Water pump and idlers at the same time? Let me know
