i use premium gas all the time
i tried the ultra one that is 94 octane ( instead of 91) and funny enough i find i am pressing less on the pedal for the same results in speed
but i also just ran a fuel treatment
like i seem to tell everyone get a motorvac
also
clean the throttle plate
when is the last time you changed the plugs
and the air filter which can affect the milage drastically

the stock system is tuned for itself only replacing one part leaves it sounding awful
the speakers are very very efficent meaning uses little power for lots of movement
aftermarket speakers are not as efficent as they usually try and reproduce sounds better
so you might want to save some more and change the amp all together when you can afford it
the front doors i used 5 1/4 but i think the orignal plate if not used will hold a 6 1/2 depending on the magnet protrusion towards the window glass
the tweeters are 1 inch but any good tweeter has a solid screw type mount on its back or mount

save the head ache do a motor vac
will clean the plugs and valves plus get the cat real claen to make full heat for efficency

the new es i have no idea about on changing things
but you are buying a lexus and there definatly is no worries that lexus wont take care of

92-96 all have the same speakers
rims largest known without rubbing is
225/40 18 tires
18 X 7.5 inches with a 42mm offset for the rims
no rubbing with any kind of weight or lowering

pull the vent out above the a/c
2 screws behind it
another 2 undr the radio hidden under plasctic panel to be poped off
has a whole metal bracket holding chasis of a/c and radio together to seperate the 2

i think it is unknown the amount of damae until the unit is opened and i have never heard of the problem you are experiancing
sounds like one of the cables is broken
but almost useless as i don;t think parts can be bought only whole units
check with lexus for parts

you have atleast 2 problems
the rocker isn't anything to worry about
the higher speeds can mean oil pump failure
or you are low on oil
did you check that yet?

there are no radio codes for our model of car

if i remmebr right hc is hydro carbons which is unburned fuel
sounds like an egr valve maybe
try cleanding the throttle or a motor vac

with you loading the car already
with people and other things
i would say rent a truck
as the es towing is like
asking a man to shovel snow in his driveway
wearing panties and a bra
he will get the job done
but not properly and may end up losing some bits along the way as well

what i think of that unit is
well you get what you pay for to put it nicely
nuy a p;ay station 2 instead it plays dvd's and you can play games as well if interested in that
boss is very low end flea market products
there is no kit i know of for a 97 and up es
only 92-96
buy a good flip up style head like the aplipe or pioneer ones much better and reliable
of course more $
but then again no one needs a tv in there car they just want it for show
so do it right and do it once
p.s. i also have the alpine flip out screen and a ps2 in mine

the words deal and mc intosh don't go togther
the dealers want top dollar for the product
usually around 1000
try and find a mc intosh dealer near you and see if they have a used one
their are not many mc dealrs to start with
have you see what their decks look like?
very 60's plain styling but have ble lights
and unbelivable sound

any muffler can be put on
a good performance shop can custom make a cold air intake
( much better than a short pipe which is actually bad )

which one do you have the docking motorola that you can take out or the in car fixed one?
for the docking one ( motoroal flip)
to remove it unscrew the 4 screws on the cradle that you can seethen unclip the harness
then 2 more screws that hold the wireing down
oretty much the same for the incar one also just keep removing upward facing srews till allcomes out

you actually sound like the problem is dirt or corrosion inside the volume switch
open it up and clean with a q tip with rubbing alcahol
and it should be fine after
while you at it change the bulbs i the deck as well before they go also
if it doesn't work out after than just buy a new deck and get it installed much cheaper than replacing with another stock unit

i don't know of anythat aren't very busy or loud looking nowadays
especially one that is going to fit that hole
there is a kit for about $25 that will let you put in any 1 din deck you want
but i guess the only ones that are modest looking and follow the lines are the aftermarket nakamichi decks
or mc intosh
both sound better than any other deck (except about 20 others)and look very plain but are very high end

oh
well if you know the clear coat is gone for sure, then the only proper thing to do is paint it
an easy and chaep way also but may not look perfect is to high speed buff it
it will remove the peeling clear and give it a more uniform look
until you are ready to paint
just don't expect great results
just something you won't be able to see form 10 feet away
oh yah the clay bar will do nothing for this problem
it will only pick and pull dirt and debris from the paint

it is normal at start for the fan to spin slow
and i have also stopped mine with my hand when just started
i am not sure if it is the temp sensor but as sj said you have narrowed most components down
only problem is you have messed up some of them
( the dex-cool causes o rings gaskets and hoses to swell or burst)
you want to test the fan turn the ac on it will make it run at full speed
the ohm meter is the best way to check a sensor but
it seems to fluctuate like it should
are you using a half and half mixture of coolant and water?
this may also be a problem as all coolant will cause a car to run cooler and would expalin why you seem to find the coolant so expensive to flush should only need 1 - 1 1/2 jugs to fill plus water for a whole system

i don''t know of the sludge problem from the 2 mixing,it probably is true i just don't know but makes sense
the red stuff it dex-cool from texaco first used by gm in the late 80's
is a higher temp than green ethlyn-glycol ( i bet i didn't spell that right)
that is the biggest diffence
a green coolant can be replaced to orange no adverse affects
but the red coolant cannot go to green it will burst seals and gaskets
you may have total destroyed you engine to save a few dollars
how long has it been in there
and immediatly flush the whole system with water and refill with dex cool
the long life is orange and i am not sure if it is dex cool or just a longer life ethyl glycol in orange

try the clay bar i can't tell if it is build up or the clear peeling off
looks like the car was parked under some kind of dripping sap tree

5 1/4 in the frnt doors
1 inch tweeter upper door sail fins
6X9 on the rear deck
the squakers on the dash are useless
don't even bother replacing them aftermarket systme speakers will cover the frequecy much better
it only helps in the staging of the front sound

where does it stop?
sounds like just the plastic button is broken
is there any stattic turning it up
any year deck will work 92-96 with the cd option or else the cd button turns into another fm button so you end up having 2 fm buttons

what stevie j said is a much better solution
the only thing i might add it
arm yourself with knowledge before going to the shop
speak to the dmv and see what they have to do before a test as in if the have to make sure the cat is up to par
i know with my 94 at idle i can still touch the exhaust even though the engine is at temp
as the exhaust is very cool compared to most cars
might save a few steps
