  1. where the varnish and carbon builds up is from the car being turned off and the unburnt fuel in the combustion chamber backing up the intake plenum and around the throttle plate varnishing

    carb cleaner will work

    but there are specific ones for throttle bodies

    not sure of the difference though

    and no o2 sensor last forever but a good 250 km should be fine

    but a good motorvac would also help evrey 50 000 miles

    to save gas and restore power

  2. have you had a suspension check for play in the ends and the hub mainly

    i replaced one of mine

    if a rim is damaged enough to need to be replaced then it may have damaged the hub

    this will cause a vibration

    biggest problem is the abs sensor is located in the hub which will need to be replaced as there is almost no way to save it as it can't be pressed out

  3. i would say the throttle body and plate need cleaning as buid up of carbon and varnish buildup

    buy a 5 dollar can and spray it while the engine is running

    reving it with the intake removed for direct acess

    also if it is this the idle may be alittle unstable with this kind of blockage

  5. there are a few wrecking yards across the country that have es 300 parts

    you didn't say the year but i am guessing 92-96 which is easier to get used parts for

    most any web site for wrecking or salvage yards are all connected so when you do a search on their web site it really is a national server

    with a different skin for the front pages

    p.s. the camry is the same car but the seats are not real leather so don't get the v6 le one thinking it is the same material

  6. i can't remember if you have an overdrive button on the shift knob

    is not then there are a few option

    if there is one then there are only a couple of them

    mainly a company called levloc they make some shift knobs

    but i find them very big and ugly

    don't match with the car but atleast have a button

    is yours that worn out?

  7. most of the head room is taken up by the sun roof

    it will then sit vey low inorder to put it as a drop down most screens and probably look out of place

    it will however fit right into the headrest as it already has space just need to fabric the open other side

    or place them in your visors and lose the mirrors

  8. i am guessing you have an es but i can't guess what year

    actually the stock amp for most es 300 are under the passenger frnt seat

    the deck will also work with out the amp( just loses a beep noise when buttons are pressed

    as i have used mine old head unit with out the amp for 3 years

    the tweeters in the sail fins are easy to remove

    just one bolt beind them to unscrew the panel pops towards you to remove

    unless you speak of the ones in the corner of the dash called squakers they are useless to replace so don't

  9. look on the left stalk of the steering wheel

    do you notice the headlight switch on the outer part

    well a little more toward the wheel there is a small bezel wheel with a little light with its beam facing down

    that is for the fog lights

    they will only turn on if the headlights are all the way on

    true

    the stock amp is inder the passenger front seat

    also none on any newer oem

    or any oem stereo that i know of

    there are replacement face plates to place any deck you would like

    you can have line adapters to change the speaker output to an rca one but will sound distorted if bought for 12 dollars

    there are some that cost 150 and are beautiful i used them in my es before i changed the head

    the speaker might be blown but unless you remove them or look under the parcel shelf to check them there is no way of knowing

  11. i have aftermarket on my es they are great as you must already know over halogen bulbs

    but the only way to get an oem sytem in a car is to sell your and buy a modle with that option

    as you would need the headlights relays controllers computer bulbs ballasts rear suspension height sensor and a new engine harness to top off the job

    almost every part is closing in on 1000 each

    so cost about 10 grand maybe plus labour
