  1. I had my 250 in for that exact reason yesterday. I had synthetic put into the transmissions of my last 2 BMW's my last three Lexus. My mechanic (not the Dealer) told me the tranny has NO dipstick. The fluid level is checked by a plug on the tansmission case. It's a "sealed system" and not meant to be user servicable. That said, it also takes a very special hydraulic tool to pump all the oil out of the torque convertor. If you do manually drain the tranny at the plug you will only get about half the oil. I gave up. Looks like Lexus has made this a "Dealer only" service item. Manual Transmission....... It should be pretty straight foward with a drain and fill with the fill being the fluid level. It shouldn't be that difficult.
  2. Took the car in today and lo and behold they had all parts in stock and they are golng to do all recalls plus the the oil leak.
  3. I was told that both the steering link and the fuel rail where on backorder. I even called them back to make sure I heard right. So it's a wait and see sitiuation.
  4. Well, just got a call from the dealer, they are going to fix the oil leak but on the recalls there is a 3 month wait on parts. Seems that the parts are on backorder and they don't really know when they're getting them. :(
  5. Here is a taste of this years race cars. The weather was great and so was the racing. The Peugeot lost 1 min. because of a tire going down and the Audi won by a 22 sec. margin, thats very close for 12 hours of full throttle racing. Those diesels haul butt and don't make any noise just tire and wind swoosh. B) Peugeot 908 HDi FAP Winning Audi R15 Some other cars. Hope you enjoy. Pics taken by me.
  6. I got the timing chain cover oil leak again on my car so I called to make an appointment. The rep told me that I had all three recalls on the car, but on the owners website it did not show up. So I suggest calling them to make sure. Not looking foward to the oil leak fix, they have to take the engine out of the car. This will be the second time, if they do it, and not all things go back to the way they where. I found that they had left a few bolts lose and groments for the oxygen sensors not installed into their holes and a few other things I took care of myself. It will be going in next week. Oh well at least it's free, can't imagine how much it would cost $$$$$.
  7. Mean while our president is getting more spots on The Tonight Show, he'll be singing and dancing next. Oh and a part in Sponge Bob Squarepants.
  8. Geeez.. I went away to see the races at Sebring and when I got back I saw this. Man Flop I'm so sorry to hear about your car, I'm glad to hear that your ok thats the most important part. The car, if it's totaled, you will find another one I'm sure. You'll make it better and faster (Sounds like the Six Million Dollar Man). Wish you the best Flop.
