  1. Vin# JT8BH28F1V0079562 Thanks in advance!!!! I need to know the naughty little secrets before I buy the car.
  2. You can get the key blank off of the ebay or an internet store (will not have lexus logo). And you MIGHT have a locksmith in your area that can cut the key. If not then the key needs to go to Lexus.
  3. I am trying to pull a carfax on it and without paying it is showing 11 diffrent items. I am trying to make sure it is not a flood car because here in Louisiana they are passing them off left and right. From the looks of it, and I have looked it at alot over the weekend it is flawless inside and outside. If they did do body work they did an unbelievable job. I just need a carfax as my "Ace in the hole" for getting that price down a bit.
  4. Radar cruise control because i tend to get not pay much attention when I am cruising along.
  5. This is how i got my trunk open. Disconnect battery and left it unhooked for a few hours. I then connected it back and it activated the trunk release switch. In your case being the lock was drilled it may not release the trunk as a safety feature. Also you can call the lexus dealer and have them make you a new key. P.S. I would have beat my child's a$$ for all this trouble.
  6. Hey guys, I think I may have found a replacement for my Lexus. I just need some opinions. Car lot is asking $7995.00 for a 97 LS 400 with 140k. I need to know if it is worth that amount of money, and also can someone run me a carfax on vin# JT8BH28F1V0079562 Thanks Guys!!!!!
  7. I was forced up onto a median...There is not much left of the transmission. The impact broke the motor mounts and kinda trashed everything underneath. But if I can save them, they are yours since I cannot guarantee working order. You just pay shipping.
  8. Mine was blacked out as well. Only worked when it was 1,000 degrees in the car and as the temp cooled the display disappeared. Sorry
  9. I bought it back from the insurance company for 10% of the cost. Which I now regret, because I am starting to notice there are very few parts still usable due to the damage.
  10. Hey guys, Just wanted to update on my Lexus loss. The car was totalled my insurance and the little b*tch that hit me had insurance on her escalade. I was able to save my pioneer door speakers and I had ordered some nak speakers. As far as the speed sensor question. The engine was soo smashed, there was no way I was going to sell any engine parts. I will be putting the pioneer door speakers and the nak door speakers and sub up for sale. Contact DCfish for the headunit, changer, and AMP (free plug for dcfish). I have been looking at a replacement LS, but it has issues. I am hearing funny sounds at start up, the dash is out completely, and the dealer has been smoking in it!!!! If anyone is interested in the speakers or anything else interior wise, let me know and I will see what i can do for you. Thanks
  11. I will be taking pics of the car and taking parts off the car sometime this week. So please tell me if you need anything. I know at this moment in time I have the owners manual, the 4 door pioneer speakers and most of the interior which is intact.
  12. Hey guys, What year model and package do I need to get so I can have radar cruise control, reclining rear seats, a/c and heated seats?
  13. It was the other driver's fault. I have already consulted an atty who has forwarded me to a doctor who now is accessing the situation and has me in physical theraphy. I am requesting enough to buy and 05-06 LS 430 Ultra and I will keep you guys posted!!!!
  14. Yes both the passenger and I were belted in. There were no broken windows nor windshield or back glass. So both the DR and I are at a loss for where the lacerations on my head came from. Also with all the damage we are unsure why the airbag did not deply. The airbag light with come on with ignition start and go off as though it were functioning normally.
  15. On monday 6/9/08 my LS 400 was involved in an accident and totaled with 306,007 miles. I suffered lacerations (16 stitches in total) to the head, a fractured wrist, and severe whiplash. My car on the other hand did not survive but held up like a champ. They are great cars and you guys have been really good to me while I had the car. I do plan on buying another Lexus and I will be seeing you guys again soon. Thanks again for all the great help you guys gave me.
  16. Is the cover over the battery on a 91 LS 400 really needed? Mine is currently missing. Is it more of a cosmetic part or does it serve a purpose?
  17. I am getting an RPM related whine in my engine. It seems directly related to the transmission. Do all the lexus transmissions have the whine or is there something else I need to look into?
  18. Thanks to a fellow member, i was able to get a carfax. What has me rather amazed is 1) The original owner lives about 20mins outside of Baton Rouge. 2) The car was moved to Mass. and then ended up back in Louisiana and into my hands. 3) The amount of people who have owned this car. Please visit our Help Center at www.carfax.com Accident Indicator CARFAX receives information about accidents in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. Various events in a vehicle's history can indicate an accident, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. Not every accident is reported and not all reported accidents are provided to CARFAX. Details about the accident (e.g. severity, impact location, airbag deployment) vary depending on the source of the accident indicator. CARFAX recommends you obtain a vehicle inspection from your dealer or an independent mechanic. According to the National Safety Council, Injury Facts, 2007 edition, 7% of the 245 million registered vehicles in the U.S. were involved in an accident in 2005. Over 75% of these were considered minor or moderate. CARFAX depends on many sources for its accident data. Each one of these sources has different processing times. CARFAX can only report what is in our database on 29.May.2008 15:25:30. New data will result in a change to this report. Collision Repair Facility A collision repair facility specializes in repairing vehicle damage caused by accidents and other incidents. A vehicle inspection completed by your dealer or a professional inspector is recommended. First Owner When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership. New Owner Reported When a vehicle is sold to a new owner, the Title must be transferred to the new owner(s) at a Department of Motor Vehicles. Ownership History CARFAX defines an owner as an individual or business that possesses and uses a vehicle. Not all title transactions represent changes in ownership. To provide estimated number of owners, CARFAX proprietary technology analyzes all the events in a vehicle history. Estimated ownership is available for vehicles manufactured after 1994 and titled solely in the US including Puerto Rico. Dealers sometimes opt to take ownership of a vehicle and are required to in the following states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Dakota. Please consider this as you review a vehicle's estimated ownership history. Title Issued A state issues a title to provide a vehicle owner with proof of ownership. Each title has a unique number. Each title or registration record on a CARFAX report does not necessarily indicate a change in ownership. In Canada, a registration and bill of sale are used as proof of ownership.
  19. Guess I am the only one experiencing this....
  20. I want to put this out there and see if anyone else experiences this. When downshifting with the pedal to the floor do you get a slight delay between 2nd and 3rd. It is almost like it freezes and binds up, but once it shifts pass that the car takes off like a rocket. Anyone else experience this or have a fix for this? I have been doing the 2qt. drain and fill and I also had the 2 transmission solenoids changed in the tranny.
