I got the TX 500h luxury trim in black. But I left it at the dealership waiting for the tow hitch receiver to get shipped and installed. Since Dec 27, I plan to pickup this Friday with or without the receiver.
There are many parts backlogs for one or more reasons and for many auto suppliers. My 1-month old Supra with 700 miles on it was held up at a dealership for 5 weeks, waiting for a part and special tools. I finally retrieved it, last Saturday. I know someone who had to wait three months for an auto body shop to get and install a body part.

Bruce, since you are east of Missouri and Iowa, I would think that the Eastern DVD would be the correct one for you.
St. Louis is considered to be the gateway to the West. However, I am not certain how Toyota/Lexus defined the East-West line.

Hello, Feltx.
Have you tried comparing part numbers for both years? I posted a question about changes from 93 to 96 LS400s and here's what my Bing search turned up:
QuoteYes, there were some changes between the 1993 and 1996 Lexus LS400 models.
For the 1993 model, there were several updates in response to dealer and customer requests, including new colors, slight trim changes, and alterations to the steering, suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires to improve driving characteristics1. Specifically, an EGR gas temperature sensor was now used on all models to conform to OBD-I requirements2.
As for the 1996 model, it benefited from a roomier interior, thanks to its longer wheelbase. Trunk space increased, and rear passengers got nearly three inches of extra leg room. The car was no bigger on the outside, and had lost a couple of hundred pounds while gaining ten horsepower and improving fuel economy from the 4.0-liter V83.
Please note that these changes might not be exhaustive and for more detailed information, you might want to refer to the official Lexus manuals or authorized Lexus dealerships.

Hello, Joey. Welcome to the forum.
Wow! I'm sorry to see all the issues you've experienced. Here in CA, we have a lemon law that can be a lifesaver. Does your state have something like this? By the way, according to Consumer Reports, the 2018 LS500 was rated much worse than average in its used car verdict table.

According to my Bing/Chat GPT search,.....
QuoteThe latest navigation map DVD that would work to update a 2007 Lexus RX400h is the Navigation Map DVD Gen 5 u41 v 16.1. You can find this DVD on various online platforms like eBay1.
Please ensure that the DVD is compatible with your vehicle before purchasing. If you’re unsure, you might want to contact Lexus customer service or a Lexus dealership for confirmation.
Also, if you’re not familiar with how to replace the navigation DVD in your Lexus RX400h, it’s located on the right rear side of your vehicle, behind a panel in a triangular shaped area. There’s a small switch on the top left hand side of the DVD drive. Slide it to the left and it will eject the disk2.
Remember to always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when updating your navigation system to avoid any potential issues. If you’re uncomfortable doing it yourself, consider seeking help from a professional.

Anytime!
With that many miles, it doesn't surprise me that the CC is due for replacement.
Delayed repair of fuel injectors, spark plugs or oxygen sensors can accelerate a CC's death.

Hydrogen motor cleaning, also known as hydrogen engine cleaning or carbon cleaning, is a process used to remove carbon deposits from an engine. This is done by injecting hydrogen gas into the engine’s air intake system while it’s running. The hydrogen combines with the carbon deposits and turns them into smaller molecules that can be expelled through the exhaust system. This process can help improve engine performance, fuel efficiency, and reduce emissions. However, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of this process can vary depending on the condition of the engine and the extent of the carbon buildup.
That code you mentioned is typically due to a failing catalytic converter. Cleaning carbon from the engine is not likely to save it.
How many miles are on your odometer?
The catalyst in half-filled? Can you provide details about this?

Thanks, RX400h. I did: Sirius says my subscription is active. I think the problem may not be on their end. I think the problem is that the car is not connecting to the satellite. I suppose I should call Lexus.
Good idea

The owner’s manual for the 2024 RX350 suggests that the windshield wiper heater can be activated by pressing an unlabeled dash button. However, it seems you’re having trouble locating this button.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find specific instructions for the 2024 RX350 model. I recommend checking your vehicle’s user manual for detailed instructions. If you’re still having trouble, you might find it helpful to watch a tutorial or contact your local Lexus dealership for assistance. They should be able to guide you through the process.
Please note that not all models may come equipped with a windshield wiper heater, so it’s also possible that your vehicle may not have this feature. If you believe your vehicle should have this feature and it’s not working, it may be best to have your vehicle inspected by a professional.

Did you call Sirius/XM?
I've called them at times to verify my subscription. They are very helpful.

The heater may stop working in Lexus RX due to1:
- Low coolant level or air in the cooling system
- Clogged heater core
- Bad thermostat
- Faulty blend door actuator
- Bad water pump
- Dirty cabin air filter
- Bad blower motor
- HVAC control unit malfunction
If you have air blowing, but no heat, you could have an issue with the temp switch, or the antifreeze not circulating through the heater core. One user reported that they removed the glove box and lubricated both servo switches located behind it to fix the issue3.

If it were my vehicle, I'd tell the installer that you would like it replaced, perhaps by an auto body shop.
It is both cosmetically irritating and potentially a leak path. -
Did you check voltage to the bulb connection?

It sounds like you’re experiencing a few different issues with your car’s air conditioning system. Here are a few possibilities:
-
Refrigerant Overcharge: If too much refrigerant (Freon) is added, it can cause the A/C to blow warm air and the engine to surge when the compressor engages. It’s important to add the correct amount of refrigerant to avoid this issue.
-
Faulty Compressor: The compressor is the heart of your car’s A/C system. If it’s not working properly, it can cause the system to blow warm air. The surging you’re experiencing when the compressor comes on could be a sign of a compressor problem.
-
Electrical Issues: The A/C system is controlled by a series of electrical switches, sensors, and relays. If any of these components fail, it can cause the system to blow warm air or the engine to surge.
-
Leak in the A/C System: If there’s a leak in the system, the refrigerant will slowly escape, causing the A/C to blow warm air. The leak could be anywhere in the system, including the compressor, condenser, or one of the lines or hoses.
Given these possibilities, it would be best to have your vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic. They can perform a series of tests to determine the exact cause of the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs.

Typically worn valves are the most common cause of blue smoke.

My guess is that it has fine threads. If you have a micrometer or calipers you can measure the diameter which will be very close to a whole number metric thread size. Then look up a metric thread size table that has fine and course threads. You may also be able to use the correct tap and clean out the threads of the nut using tapping fluid.

I was recently in a Toyota dealership and decided to ask the parts department person if he could print out the exploded view if the center console rear-side panels so I could determine what type(s) of fastening hardware were securing the panels.
Within 3 minutes he printed me a copy. I think if you stopped by in person, they'd be more likely to oblige.

The electric power steering warning light on your 2019 RX 350 could be coming on due to a few reasons:
-
Low Power Steering Fluid: This is one of the most common reasons for the power steering warning light to appear. You should check the power steering fluid level.
As for whether it’s dangerous, it can be. If the power steering system fails, it can make the vehicle harder to maneuver, especially at lower speeds. This could potentially lead to accidents.
In terms of fixing it, if the issue is low power steering fluid, you can refill it. If the issue is a faulty electric connector, it might be possible to fix it yourself if you catch it in time2. However, if the power steering fluid level is full and the light is still coming on, it’s recommended to contact your dealer or a professional mechanic1.

If you buy replacement speakers from crutchfield.com, you will receive detailed instructions.
Another option is to stop by a Lexus dealership and ask the parts dept person to print you the exploded assembly drawing.

What if you called a Lexus parts person and asked what the amp rating is of that particular fuse. It least you'd narrow down the choices.

I follow my owner's manual when it comes to transmission fluid level checking. For engine oil level checking, I check it when the engine is cold or 5 minutes after shutting it off.
Who changed your oil, last? "Way over" could be a problem. I'm assuming you have a way to raise your vehicle so that it remains level? It will need to be if you are going to go back and forth between draining some oil and rechecking the dipstick. Many vehicles have "crush washers" that need to be replaced whenever you loosen or remove the plug. You can pick one up at the dealership if you don't know the size and material. You may want to pick up a plug as well so you can have it and the washer ready when you remove the existing pair. It still may be messy, but do not initially tighten the plug between level checks. Tighten it only after the level is correct.

How often do you change oil? Is its viscosity that which is specified in your owner's manual? How many miles are on the odometer?
QuoteThe knocking sound from your 2003 Lexus ES 300 when it’s cold could be due to several reasons:
- Oil Drainage: The noise might be due to oil drainage from the top end of the vehicle. When you start the car, if the oil pressure and oil level indicator lights take a few seconds to go out, it could indicate this issue1.
- Piston Slap: The piston might not be aligned correctly inside the cylinder, especially if the car has more than 200,000 miles on it. This is often more noticeable when the engine is cold and typically quiets down as the engine warms up1.
- Engine Parts: Older engine parts that require replacement or repair could be making noise.
- Air-to-Fuel Mixture: The proper amounts of air and fuel that mix together inside the combustion chamber might not be at the correct levels2.
- Valve Lifters: The valve lifters might be sticky.
- Serpentine Belt: The tension of the serpentine belt could be causing the noise. The belt part is temperature sensitive, and applying some belt dressing to the serpentine belt or replacing it might help

I've been hearing of many people's hybrids needing Fuel filter and egr valve replacement.
Surely someone had information on this.
Anyone?
The "Car Care Nut" on youtube created a video about how consistently running your gas tanl low can cause premature fuel pump failure because there needs to be enough gas in the tank to keep the pump cool.
An added detriment is allowing the pump to pull in dirtier fuel from the bottom part of the gas tank.

I gave them plenty of time but even now, the tools and part has not arrived. It is a huge problem that no one seems to be able to fix.
