YES, that is a fact. I required the gentleman I purchased our '07 ES 350 from to have the "rain sensing" windshield replaced and he claimed it through his insurance b/c it came to a total of $1,500 and the glass company would ONLY replace it at the dealership b/c of the rain sensors - YIKES! He had a $250 comprehensive deductible and did have to pay it.

If he wrecks his "new" car, I think he will need more than a shrink! Mom and Dad should have refused to pay for their young Son's parking tickets! What happened to the "moral of the story" lessons of days gone by? I will now step down from my "soap box"!

That's good to know, thanks! I'll definitely make mention of those things! The only issue would be the loaner car because I'm 18 and I don't believe I am allowed to take one :P I would argue that. If you are old enough to purchase a LEXUS vehicle, assuming your name is on the registration, then the dealership should be willing to accomodate you with a loaner car. You can serve in the US military and you can vote, you should be able to secure a loaner.

Agreed - an iPod docking station woud be IDEAL. I think it is safe to say that far more audiophiles would appreciate the iPod docking station vs. a tape deck. IMO. OR a place to hold the key FOB. I don't always like to keep it in a pocket. OR another place for little gadget storage (I.E.: a thumb drive, sunglasses, eye contact case, etc) - this is a luxury LEXUS product, I think they could come up with something creative.

Agreed, the FM antennae is HORRIBLE! I live about 35 miles South of Denver and get very poor reception until I am about 30 miles outside of Denver. I have an appointment to have my head unit replaced on Monday (CD player decided to go into an endless ERROR 3 mode).

What was the cost for parts and installation? We are all curious :) How about some pics?

I stand corrected. I assumed this was the "installed" price; however, I was just informed by the service department that this is just for the CAI and does NOT include installation! What a ripoff! Also, the exhaust was quoted at $1,500 NOT including installation.

Congrats Bill and welcome to LOC!!! I like the fact that you have black colored interior carpeting, I wish mine was black. If you golf, definitely look at putting the clear bra on the back bumper as well. You will be amazed at how much aggrevation this will save you each time you drop your bag onto your bumper by accident.

All, I am a VERY happy car owner as I just finished inspecting and happily paying for my Paintless Dent Repair! The company here in Denver is Caropractor (pretty catchy huh?) and the owners name is Mark Phillips. He did an AMAZING job!!! He miraculously removed my 3 door dings (one of which was on the bend of my rear fender) for a total cost of $135!! Again, amazing work. Unfortunately, I am not quite in a position to go out and purchaser the "clunker" I need to leave parked at the airport and to run errands around town :( So, for the next few months I will continue to employ as many tricks as I know to hopefully "avoid" the Inconsiderate Door Dinger crowd! We have only had 1 snow fall since I purchased the car, which was yesterday (got about 6" where I live - South of Denver) and I had no issues, but there wasn't much sticking to the road.

Hence the reason they are referred to time and time again in these threads as "Stealerships"!!! I just received a quote from mine on the new F-Sport cold air intake for my '06 IS 350 - $542 installed. That's highway robbery!!!

Gabe - Welcome to LOC :) I just recently purchased the same vehicle with 9,450 miles w/out NAVI. Check out the "Pinned" thread (http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41473) related to the TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins), which are ALL still covered under your original warranty on the vehicle. The TSB's should cover all of the recall items from Lexus. As for the vehicles NAVI DVD, most manufacturers release an update every Oct. My recommendation is to wait until Oct. to get the latest updates, especially if you live in an area with a lot of new construction that has taken place in the past. I just received a quote from my Stealership on the cold air intake - $541.45 installed. This pricing is absolutely ridiculous!!! Does anyone know if a NON Lexus dealer can install the F-Sport parts and it still be covered under warranty?

Our other vehicle is an '07 ES 350, so either way I loose :( I have an appointment tomorrow to have the "dings" repaired. I may need to purchase an older vehicle for my airport trips so that I don't loose my mind.

Lexus is sorely missing the mark on their F-Sport line! I guess they don't understand economics very well. At a reasonable price they are more apt to have a higher volume, thus higher profits. If you were to add the entire F-Sport line of accessories I think you would top the price of an IS-F, where is the sense in that?

Hello fellow members :) I recently purchased a beautifully kept '06 IS 350 in mint condition and was extremely upset when I returned from a trip to KC to learn that my new ride had 3 "door dings" on the drivers side of the vehicle I typically park in BFE; however, the Denver airport has become so busy and garage parking sooooooo expensive that I parked in the economy lot (BIG mistake). I contacted my local body shop and they referred me to a "travelling" car dent repair individual (Caropractor is the name of the business). Has anyone utilized one of these repair services? What was your experience? Thanks for the help :D

Great thread. I contacted my "Stealership" about 2 weeks ago and they don't have a clue :( They couldn't provide me with pricing or with an ETA on when they might receive the F-Sport parts. IMO they should add an ECU to this list so that it is a warrantable item :) That is the only reason I would pay for these items as they do not void the manufacturers warranty!

I paid over $500 for a 15,000 mile service last year. Today, when I called to make an appointment for 30,000 mile oil change, I was told my ES350 needs another sevice which costs $700. I was very upset. My question is if I only do oil change, will that affect my warranty? This is the list of service for $700. Are there all necessary, and have to be done by a Lexus Dealer? • Change engine oil • Replace wiper inserts • Install 44k fuel additive • Install motor oil additive • Replace AC filter • Replace engine air filter • Replace brake fluid • Rotate and balance tires • Adjust fluid levels • Measure F&R brake rotor and pad thickness • Reset service reminder • Inspect the following: • Ball joints and dust covers • Brake pads and rotors • Drive shaft boots • Nuts and bolts on chassis and body • Steering linkages • Brake lines and hoses • Differential oil (Front on AWD also) • Exhaust pipes and mountings • Rack and pinion assembly • Transmission fluid • Road test Not a car person myself, I need some help in deciding what to do. Kevrisva - I found a great "non-dealer" mechanic who uses genuine Lexus parts and will do everything the Lexus dealer does for about 30% less! I did my research on the mechanic and he has an excellent reputation in my area. I actually spoke with the owner of the shop and he explained that the Lexus warranty remains in tact, provided wherever you have the work done can document the "factory recommended scheduled service" was completed per the Owner's manual. However, SW03ES makes a good point in that your Lexus dealer does provide a loaner vehicle, or they should, and the national database Lexus maintains on your vehicle does add value - you just need to personally decide what that value is worth. If you maintain your vehicle and cna provide ALL the maintenance records when you sell or trade the vehicle, then you should be able to obtain the same market value as you would have by having Lexus service the vehicle. The Honda/Acura system is still the most intuitive and easy to use NAVI system in the marketplace AND it allows you to enter info while driving!

GoodYear Eagle F1's :) I had those on a Firebird and got caught in a couple snowstorms in Ohio. The tires did fine. Welcome to the darkside! That is some transformation - Firebird to a Lexus :D
