  1. PLEASE HELP! I have been searching all over the web and this site for help in tracking down a manufacturer or site that carries BLUE LED's (to replace all the interior lights) for my 07 ES 350. I have been unsuccessful in my search - any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks :)
  2. The reason they did not recommend it is our cars come with V speed rated as standard equipment. The TT in the size we need is 1 speed rating lower (H rated). You are just fine to use an H speed rated tire such as the TT without any worries (they are good for speeds up to 130 MPH vs. the V speed at 149 MPH) The top speed of the ES is 145 MPH last I checked & I doubt any of us will even come close to those speeds. ;) LexusFreak - Thanks for educating me on the speed rating of the ES 350. I definintely do not see myself driving that fast, especially with a family to support :) I've been reading through a ton of posts to try and educate myself as much as possible about my new purchase and just as an FYI - some other posts have stated that the 07 ES 350 is chip limited to 137 MPH, but what do I know - just quoting what I have read on LOC. If I do decide to go the route of a separate set of snow tires and rims do you have any suggestions? I've heard great things about Blizzak (sp?). Thanks again!
  3. Mobil 5w30 full synthetic or equivilent, There are way too many threads on this subject. And this is bound to be another useless thread, So It is YOUR choice and be happy with it. Done........... DC - As a new user to this site please accept my apologies for this post. Upon further research last night and this morning, I discovered ALL of the "oil" posts and threads. Is there any way to delete a posting? I woudl be glad to remove it, but I can't seem to find a way to delete it. Thanks!
  4. I recently purchased an 07 ES 350 and wanted to solicit everyone's feedback on synthetic oil. I have traditionally used Mobil 1 on my other vehicles (Honda) and before I have the oil changed I wanted to know all your opinions. Please take a minute to inform me of: Brand of Oil: Viscosity: Why this Viscosity: Brand of Filter: Any other helpful feedback would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I did read the owners manual, which recommends a viscosity of 5W30, but I wanted to hear from the Lexus community on what they use in their cars. Thanks to everyone for your helpful feedback :)
  5. I thought you may want to know that you can save yourself a cool $1,000 or more by opting for a Garmin Nuvi: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.do?comp...compare=compare Also, if you are not already aware, Lexus has been offering some owners a $500 service rebate due to the fact that the NAV system's touch screen is basically inoperable while driving. Meaning, you can NOT use the touch screen to program in a POI or address. There are several posts on this site about the inefficiencies of the Lexus NAV system and the lack of response from customers concerns. Best of luck to you :)
  6. What size tires do you need on your 350? I also have the Triple Tred's on my short list for my ES 330 & agree with your comments.....I've had several sets of them on different vehicles & they are indeed fantastic. Do you also use a set of winter tires for each vehicle? Noticed your from Denver. The tire size is 215/55/R17. We do not use a set of winter tires, especially since the Assurance tire has been more than adequate in snow and rain. However, when I looked up the tire size on my local Goodyear's website, they did recommend the Assurance tire for the ES 350; rather, they recommended the Eagle ResponsEdge. Contrary to what most people believe, we do not get a ton of snow in Denver and when we do get snow it usually has completely melted within a week and the streets are clean within a day :D I have to do some additional research on tires, but I do not plan on replacing my existing tires until this fall, unless we see a lot of rain this summer and the car starts to hydroplane - YIKES! Best of luck to you!
  7. I am indeed self employed. I could probably buy and sell you several times over too, so don't worry about me. And I'm sorry if my hobby of chatting on this internet forum bothers you. In fact, if it weren't for me and the other significant administrators and members of this site spending time here and working on the site...it wouldn't be here for you to enjoy. So...you're welcome. Look around the internet, 12k posts to an internet forum is hardly a lot. Anyways, you say I can dish it out but I get offended when people disagree with me. I *never* get offended by anything anyone says to me online. In fact, I don't think I've shown any offense or anger at all in this thread. I simply have an opinion, as you do. It differs from yours, but I'm just as entitled to it as you are. Since you're new to our forum I'll let you know that you're welcome to debate the topics with anyone here including me, but singling people out and rideculing them in the way you've attempted but failed to do here is not acceptable and won't be tolerated. WOW SW03ES - nice threat I guess you have that privelage since you are an "Administrator" of the site. Before you utilize your bestowed powers to threaten me, you may want to review some of your most recent posts, which I have read as a newbie to this site. Again, it seems you can dish out comments and ridicule, but you can't take it. If you can honestly say that you have NOT done so, then this thread is over b/c you have serious ego issues. As I see it, as an administrator of this site you have agreed to take on certain responsibilities. One of them should not be to ridicule others or to inform them that "YOU" don't care about their choices and to make people feel as if their issues and concerns are illigitimate. As a representative of the "Lexus" brand, you should ONLY be providing factual information and NOT personal opinions and/or conjecture.
  8. Do you promise you'll post on one of their forums too? I love this LOL, why would we give a crap what you buy next time? Get over yourself. SW03ES - If you are not currently employed by Lexus I heard they are hiring! You seem to be able to dish it out to everyone on this site, yet you take serious offense to anyone who serves you up some of your own words! Seriously, you have over 12K posts on this site - do you have a life outside of this site? If you are not employed by Lexus and if you are not self employed I have pity on your employer - oh you live in Gaithersburg, MD - maybe you are one of the many FED employees that sit at your desk and do all of us a grave disservice by chatting online (creating posts) ALL day long on our tax payers dollars!
  9. THANK YOU for your efforts and concern to help the interested owners of this finely crafted automobile! The Acura/Honda NAV system is FAR superior to the Lexus/Toyota NAV system. Many other NAV systems do NOT lock the driver out of using the system while driving. Lexus should listen to the MAJORITY of us and create a "hotfix or patch" to resolve this issue. Scott
  10. I too am very disappointed in the tread life of my ES 350 tires (Michelin Energy MXV4 S8 - P 215/55/R17). I just bought the car and did not expect to need to replace the tires with only 13,500 miles; however, they will definitely need to be replaced by 20K miles In researching tires, the Goodyear Eagle (featuring ResponsEdge Technology) http://www.goodyeartires.com/eagle/eagleRE_sizes.html has received very good reviews and has a 50K mile tread warranty. Good luck :D
  11. I like the ES300/330's style, it looks good. Regarding OEM tire mileage warranties, shepsan said his ES's OEM Bridgestones have a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty. I still don't get how some Lexus ES OEM tires have 50,000 mile warranties while others have none. Is it possible shepsan is mistaken? Do ES OEM standard tires have mileage warranties or not? It would seem wrong that random ES buyers get mileage warranties and others don't, given that they're all standard tires. I just purchased an 07 ES 350 with Michelin tires (13,500 miles) and the tires are worn far beyond what I had expected. Honestly, I failed to due my due diligence and did not check the tire tread wear before I bought the vehicle. Who expects a new-used car with only 13,500 miles to need new tires? It's NOT a sports car with Z rated tires! My wife has Goodyear Assurance (triple tread) tires on her Accord and the tires have completely changed the handling and ride comfort of the car! Not sure if they make that size tire for the ES 350. Good luck!
  12. The brake pad issue may be due to the fact that you use your emergency brake! My wifes Accord brakes wore out at 30K miles and they stated that the emergency brake may tend to "stick" and not fully release, especially in cold climate areas of the country. Thought I would share.
  13. Has anyone installed a quality autostarter that allows control of the heating/cooling system? Thanks for the help!
