I really like the wheels, what are they?
  2. If you want to put an intake in your car and have it still be covered under warranty you should go with the F-Sport intake made by Lexus. You can get it from the dealership or you can buy it online. Visit http://www.sewellpartsonline.com they carry all the F-Sports parts and they are cheaper than the dealer. If you don’t care about staying within the factory warranty then your best bet is a Joe-Z intake pipe. I’m not sure how much they cost exactly but it’s much cheaper than the Lexus F-Sport intake. Gabe
  3. Don’t feel bad my wedding ring went down the defrost vent. I just tell my wife I’m married whenever I drive the car and that’s not very often.
  4. What kind of aftermarket wheels are on your Lexus IS 250/350? The reason I posted this topic is because I’m one who likes to see the wheels on the car before actually buying them. Also, it would be cool if people could post pictures of their wheels on their ride so others would get a better idea of what aftermarket wheels would look like on their car. So please post a picture of your ride with the aftermarket wheels on it. Also, provide the size and manufacture of the wheels for others. B)
  5. I own a white IS as well and can agee how it's a magnet for rock chips. I to have used the Lexus brand touchup paint and personally I think it's a joke. The pen part didn't even work for me so I unscrewed the top of the cap and used the brush. However, I find that the paint is so runny that it look shorrible when applied to the car. I have shaken the paint until my arm has about fallen off but it's still runny.
  6. I’m posting this for my brother in-law. He just bought a 2003 GX470 and would like to upgrade the navigation system to the latest version (I think its version 7.1). Is there anywhere besides the dealership where one can purchase the upgrade DVD? He understands that the 2008 version will be out in October of 2008 but would like to be up-to-date as of now. Thanks for your help. Gabe
  7. I recently bought a used 2006 IS 350. I wanted the car in white with black interior. For one it was hard to find a white IS 350 let alone one with black interior instead of gray. When I finally came across one I bought it but it didn’t come with the factory spoiler. Does anyone know of a website or place where I can order a spoiler already painted. I don’t really want to pay the dealership price for it and there must be other options. Thanks Gabe
  8. Model: IS 350 Year: 2006 Color: Star Fire Pearl Miles: 18k Price when purchased: $31,500.00 (bought used) from Newport Motors, Lynwood, WA Date of purchase: April 28th, 2008 Cost of Insurance: I pay about $155.00 a month for the Car. "Don't get a DUI" Modifications: Tinted the windows to 20%. Also, getting ready to purchase a stock rear spoiler. Quick history: When I bought the car from the dealership it had a dent in the front left driver side fender. Also, the tire pleasure sensor was on indicating there was a low tire. The dealership told me that they would fix the dent and air-up the tire when I picked the car up a few days later. When I arrived to pick up the car, the dent was fixed about 80% and the tire pressure indicator light was off. The dealership said they couldn’t fix the dent completely without their being a risk of cracking the paint. They were using a paintless dent removal process. Being that this was my first car I had ever purchased I really didn’t know what to say so I took it thinking I would eventually get it fixed. A couple days went by and what do you know? The tire pressure light came on again. I took the car to Lexus of Bellevue, WA and had them check the tire out while also doing a 20k mile inspection on the car. They charged me about $200.00 for the 20k inspection. They also found a nail in the tire which they fixed. Overall the service was great at the time. That very same day the tire pressure light came on yet again. I was not a happy camper. I took the car back into Lexus and told them to take another look. They called me at home and told me that the tire would need to be replaced because the “plug” wasn’t holding. My first question to them was, “Why are you using plugs to patch tires instead of patches”? I ended up replacing the tire for about $330.00 (I about fainted when I was told the price). A week after I bought the car I really felt that I wanted to get the dent completely fixed for it really bothered me. I did a Google search on paintless dent repair and came across a guy buy the name of Ryan Snider who owned and operated his own business called, “Ryan Snider Paintless Dent Repair” (http://www.ryanpdr.com/) out of Seattle, WA. I gave Ryan a call and made an appointment. Ryan himself came to my house to fix the dent. At the same time I had Ryan fix 3 other door dings that I noticed when washing the car. When Ryan was done I couldn’t even tell the dent’s were ever there. He did a truly amazing job and I would recommend him to anyone. The cost for fixing the dent and 3 door dings was $218.00 with tax. I later returned to the dealership where I bought the car and told them that I had the dent repaired and that I had to replace the tire because it couldn’t be fixed. I was not credited any money back, which wasn’t surprising. I guess the moral of the story is to be a smarter buyer when buying a used car and be sure to speak your concerns. Thank you, Gabe
  9. Probably zero, just like all the other air intakes for the 2IS Well, you might see 3-5 hp from the smoother tube, but you'd see the same from the Joe Z intake for $200-300 less money Very true. And yeah, the Joe Z is the way better option here. Will the Joe Z void the factory warrantee? Also, would you recommend running an HKS filter with the Joe Z intake pipe?
  10. Does anyone know how much HP gain one should get with F-Sport Performance Air Intake? Below is a video of the intake install for anyone who is looking to do it themselves. Thanks Gabe
  11. I have some useful information on #3. I was rear ended by someone at low speed. His insurance paid for a new bumper for my AWDIS250. The bumper was a little deformed in one spot. The original insurance estimate was about $600 to repair and repaint. Supposedly the bumper can be pushed back into shape if you heat it up - if there were any cracks on the inside, it had to be replaced. When I took it to a shop, the guys said the insurance adjuster was an idiot, they were not going to heat it up to try to bend it back into shape, and it needed to be replaced. The shop and the adjuster worked it out that it would be replaced. The final bill for replacement and painting was about $1200 - all paid by the insurance company. I consider the shop I went to to be a fairly high end place, so you might be able to find a cheaper price if you shop around. They did a perfect job, and I can't tell that it's not the original bumper. For anyone in my area, the shop is RNR Collision in Bellevue, WA. I am really happy with the quality of their work. Thanks for the info. I'll make sure I give them a call. Gabe
  12. Gabe - Welcome to LOC :) I just recently purchased the same vehicle with 9,450 miles w/out NAVI. Check out the "Pinned" thread (http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41473) related to the TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins), which are ALL still covered under your original warranty on the vehicle. The TSB's should cover all of the recall items from Lexus. As for the vehicles NAVI DVD, most manufacturers release an update every Oct. My recommendation is to wait until Oct. to get the latest updates, especially if you live in an area with a lot of new construction that has taken place in the past. There are various threads posted on LOC regarding changing out the NAVI DVD, here is one: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=47274 Good luck and have fun! Thanks for the links. I see that your from Colorado. How is driving it in the snow? Gabe
  13. I just bought a used 2006 IS 350 with about 18k miles on it. So far I love the car and I’m very happy with it. However, I do have a few questions for you already owners. 1) Does anyone change their own oil? Do you know how to reset the computer so it quits saying its time to change your oil? 2) Has anyone put a cold air intake on their car? If so what kind of performance gain are we talking about? I see that AFE makes one. 3) I have a small little crack on the back bumper that’s about a quarter inch. Any idea as to how much it would cost to repair? Would the entire bumper need to be replaced? 4) The car has navigation. If the navigation DVD hasn’t been changed does it need to be changed with an updated version? 5) What kind of know issue has people reported? Has there been any recalls on anything? Thank you, Gabe
  14. Thanks so much. I just bought an IS 350 and the owners manual was missing and the tire pressure indicator light was on. I can't thank you enough. :D
