  1. Yeah spent 4 hours claying, polishing, waxing... spend hundreds on some maintenance before I left too! lol..
  2. Just cause I didn't detail every bit of damage in pics doesn't mean there is none and it is in great condition. The thing is beat to hell. If they won't total it I might just trade it in on something else.. That quote didn't include a lot of things either. like the wheels are scratched to hell. I don't want the vehicle back in half-assed condition. I want it back like it was. In the end it's just a car. A nice car, but just a car.. If I wanted a beat up LS400 I would have bought a beat up LS400. Maybe I'll get a 2000 LS. Been looking into 2003 Nissan Maxima as well.. The moral of this story, is that I'm over the LS lol. Time for something new. also... the center console is bent against the driver's seat from my passenger pushing on it so hard... I'd rather have a new one.. than having it bent back into place (if possible without breaking) and I'm sure that's not a cheap fix.
  3. well over correcting at 80mph will do the trick ;) M45 are sweet but have major engine problems. with piston rings. most used M45s you find have warranty replaced engines.
  4. Hey everyone, if you've been following my previous thread on my road trip, you know what's going on, the LS is wrecked, and at this point I'm 95% sure it's going to get totaled out because of the cost of the cosmetic damage. If you haven't yet heard, here's a link to my prev. thread at post #11 where the details begin.. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=385152 My first estimate for just the bodywork is +$5,000.00. That's not factoring in whatever problem there was with the phantom PS leak, and any other hidden problems right now. Here are some pictures.. Before.. on the way to SLC Thurs afternoon... Immediately after the spin out, pulled it onto the shoulder.. 60mi to Burley, ID.... Ugh... Very nice young lady re-mounting the two off'd tires... Only cost me $10 :) Outside the Tire Center... By the time we got to Prosser in eastern WA, I noticed we had a tag along.. ;) At home, After ~2000mi trip :D
  5. Just sucks because I crossed the UT/ID border, and was just kind of sleepy. Nothing major. Was going to stop off at the next rest area and switch drivers. The sleepy-ness hit so fast it's amazing... never happened before... Just out for 2 seconds and the car is toast...UGH!! oh well.... Just a car, and things could be much MUCH worse... How's this for salt in the wounds... the rest area was 1.5 miles away from where I nodded off :( So cluse.... :( Yes I have full coverage. 95% sure it's totaled. The estimate for just the bodywork was +$5,000.00 Leaked a $#!T load of PS fluid on the wrecker, and in the Walmart tire center where they re-mounted the two tires that came off the rim... topped it off with some fresh fluid... for some reason the PS leak stopped.... So... add whatever PS problem to the $5g total... I'd kind of rather it be totaled , and just find a new car... start fresh. M45? 2000 LS platinum? GS400?? Maxima/I35?? lol B) Thanks for all your concern.
  6. Yeah it sucked. I was planning on taking the next exit to switch drivers. But it hit so fast I woke up when I hit the rumble strips. I was only out for a couple seconds. . . But I guess that's all it takes. Everything happens for a reason right? . . .:(
  7. Hey everyone. On the road. Just wanted to let you all know that I fell asleep at the wheel and spun out the lexus at 80mph. We are all totally fine. Ill post more details when I get home on my computer. The tank is driving fine. We are 9 hours from home. I believe the cosmetic damage is enough for insurance to total it out. Future is anxious
  8. Just clayed polished and sealed her yesterday. I'll try to snap a few pics! :) I'm hoping the weather will be decent the whole way down! I know eastern WA has been very nice as of lately.
  9. So next Thursday (8-27) I am taking a short road trip with my LS :) From here (Port Angeles, WA) to there (Salt Lake City, UT) ~925mi one way. One of my cousins is getting married so it should be a fun one! My LS has about 167k miles on her. I've had my oil changed, tranny fluid changed, new wipers, new serp belt. tires rotated... just getting a few maintenance items out of the way before the trip!! But anyways... just thought I'd let everyone know about the trek ahead of my LS!! B) I'm excited, first trip this long for my car! The last trip, from here to Los Angeles, CA was done in my sister's Chrysler 300. I was surprised at how comfortable that car really was when you got it cruising on the highway. Still.. 06 Chrysler, no match for my 97 LS with +166k B) B) B)
  10. You have to completely remove the headlamp housing from the vehicle. 4 simple 10mm bolts.
  11. Eagle Eyes FTW!!!!!!! lol B) HIDs wouldn't work so well with the 1st gen, and 2.1gen. Go for the Eagle Eyes and get a set of Phillips Xtreme white (?) Or my personal fav, Silverstar ULTRAs
  12. Oh..... my........ lord........ lol B)
  13. No I didn't upgrade the brakes. But the 93-94 brakes should do an even better job of stopping. The answer to your 2nd question is in my first post ;) (Tanabe DF210) Wish I still had her sometimes!! :(
