  1. If the filter is a steel mesh then a good flush should clean it as well?
  2. Where is the Remote under the hood so I can get the FCC ID to compare it to some on sale on ebay.
  3. And tranny fluid level is good, I was going to have it flushed this week as well. Is there a cloth filter in the transmission or steel?
  4. Any good tips on where to buy the hose online? I was taking the car to FL this weekend (from PA), so I was going to chnge the oil anyway. I know Lexus changed the oil filters they use. Recommendations on the best brand for this engine?
  5. Can any lexus keyless entry remote be programmed for my car?
  6. Thanks, guys, I will be checking it out tomorrow.
  7. The only light that has come on is the engine oil light with a problem I discussed in a different thread. See http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=6740& Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Found that I have the 1mz-fe Engine, where is the interface for reading the plugging in the code reader? And is there some that work with laptop & Software you would recommend?
  9. I have a 1994 Lexus ES300 If it has this engine in it will this Reader work for mine as well? Where is the interface located? And where is the engine model located?
  10. :D Thanks for the info on the repair history. I am hoping they will release it to me. Any thoughts by anyone on the other questions? (I repeated them here) And it seems this car is equipped with remote capabilities (from the couple of buttons on the dash), but there was only one key and no keyless entry for the car. Does anyone know of a third party that I can get these replaced or another key cut? Or is it even possible to get these from lexus, and approximate costs? Also, is it possible to purchase an error code reader for this vehicle, being it is pre-1996. I enjoy tinkering and repairing, and hate paying the mechanic the big bucks just to turn off the light. Thanks again!
  11. Sorry for taking up the bandwidth. I know, this is my third post in a relatively short time. Does anyone know if Lexus has in their database the repair history for my car, and if so, If I can get it from them somehow? I just really like to have the histories to know what hasd been done when (Timing belts, etc.) I do have the carfax for this vehicle. (1994 ES300). And it seems this car is equipped with remote capabilities (from the couple of buttons on the dash), but there was only one key and no keyless entry for the car. Just need to fix all the little bugs that have come up. And any tips anyone has on better performance (either fuel economy or power) I would appreciate. Thanks again in advance.
  12. Just looking for a little information. Who have you found online to be a good source for parts for the Lexus line. I have tried a few, but it seems the inventory is very limited. I am looking for itmes like Air Intake Tube, Hood Struts, etc.
  13. Just purchased a 1994 ES300 172,000 miles. This is my first Lexus, I have owned Benz up until now. Anyway, ran great when it picked it up but on the third day it developed a hesitation, almost a 'bucking' if you tried to accelerate slowly, and the Engine Oil Lamp came on as well. The Engine oil lamp only light intermittetly, so I am holping that it means it just set a code. (This is the lamp with the picture of the oil can, not a lamp that says 'check engine') It seems that the lamp kind of 'flickers' when it is on, according to RPM. Oil was just changed in it before I picked it up. I was thinking of switching to a straight weight oil (30W or 40W), as I have always had good success with these in all my other vehicles. Drove the car from Texas to PA, lamp was off pretty much the entire time, except when at idle speed(about 8000 RPM) when I was pulling in to or out of Gas station. The 'bucking' has me a little more concerned. :( Let me try to describe it. When pulling out slowly, the car hesitates like it is going to stall, but doesn't. If you push the accelerator to the floor, it kicks the transmission down and pulls out fine. It does the same thing when you are in gear coasting at at a slower speed and apply the gas slowly. I have tried manually shifting the transmission, but that makes no difference. After reading some other forums, I did inspect the air intake tube(?). There was a very small crack in the end of it, but where it connected to the front valve cover was broken almost completely off. I have taped this as a temporary fix, and it is selaed very tight, but there is no difference. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the replies in advance!
