  1. The lexus dealer looked @ it and said it was a loose radiator cap, allowing fluid to fling back onto the belt, thus the belt on the engine is squeeling. I looked @ it and i don't see any fluid run off of in the cap area, nor do i see any signs of fluid on the belt. I am going to get some belt dressing and see what that does for the squeel. The more i listen and learn, the less i think its the fan assembly but rather the pullies or serpentine belt. When i inspect the pullies, should any of them show any signes of give or what should i look for?
  2. It sounds like a belt has started rubbing on something or a bearing is not working right. It lessens in noise level when the engine revs. It only started after i replaced the radiator (while i was adding the coolant). I am not sure if its eminating from the fan area or the pully area. I have made an apointment with lexus dealer to see what they can tell. I don't want to run it until i have a costly fix.
  3. I have a 93 sc400. I just replaced the radiator and since then, i get a high pitched squeel from the fan area. I did a search here but have not found any good matches to my issue. I checked the fluid level and they seem fine. Should i drain the fan assembly fluids? If so, how best to do that? I read on another thread that the fan may have gotten "out of balance" but i don't know how to "Rebalance" it or what to do for it. Any ideas would be great, as this is embarrasing to drive, not to mention that i could be letting something get damaged.
  4. I think i am having a similar problem with my clutch fan. We replaced the radiator and now a high pitched squeeling noise comes from that area. Does any one know how to "balance" the fan? I checked the fluid levels and they seem fine. If any one knows how to bleed the clutch fan fluid, then i could try that too! Thanks
  5. I have a 93 sc400 and i get around 20-23 mpg in mixed city/hwy driving.
  6. You will get more hits if you post PRICES!
  7. my 93 sc400 has the light housing and the semi-clear window that the light comes through. You have to use a flat head screw driver and put it up between the "window" and the plastic housing. Do this in the "rear" while you are siting in the drivers seat. Seperate the clear window from the plastic housing in each corner area, as the "window" piece is held in place via 4 clips (molded plastic). 2 of the clips are in the "front" corners and 2 in the "rear" corners. once you have the 2 back corner clips depressed, you should be able to pull the "windows" piece out by hand. Hope this helps, since i had to figure it out myself on my car too.
  8. Hello all. I am new to Lexus cars and this site but i have a question i think you guys may be able to answer from your experience. I have a 93 sc400. My cd head unit is a pioneer (i guess because it does not say Nakamichi) and amp. I would like to know if the wiring harness is the same for the 2 diff. makers stereos. In other words, can i swap a pioneer out and put a nakamichi in with no wiring changes? If i did the change/ upgrade, could the amp unit also be done the same way? Thanks in advance
  9. I sent you a PM about the cd changer. I know you haven't taken it out yet but figured i would ask anyway. Sounds like you have a nice new system.
