  5. thats a nice car. The LS is not my "style" - bit too big and barge like - but you cannot deny its an awful good looking vehicle. thats the LS sold then! :D you've said several times before that rear room was important - and you are only going to get the vast amount of rear real estate in an LS. (here a tip - dont even LOOK at an SC430! :lol ) You're only othe option would be to look at other marques, and I don't think thats likely to happen. I have not driven an LS430 - only a MKIII LS400. But I found that too be very light - much too light and floaty for my liking. I say go for it mate! Its obvious from your previous posts that you a real Lexus fan, and the Lexus LS430 in particular. you like the car, and you have the means to get one. whats stopping you? :D
  6. looking good Steve - said it before, and I'll say it again - I think thats a beautiful colour. You guys over there get some nice colours - they are only available as special order over here, and I only found that out a few weeks ago. you still thinking of changing the wheels mate? some nice, bigger wheels in those arches would be really nice - I think those wheels look a bit small on a car that size. Can't wait until I get a chance to do mine. We simply have not had the weather since I bought it to make it worthwile doing anything other than a polish, and taking it somewhere for a weekly wash
  7. sorry bud - but the turbonator is snake oil read some of the threads anywhere about it. Google: turbonator
  8. of couse you dont want the unit anywhere near your side curtains - thats a recipe for diaster! but surely you can put it by your mirror, and run the wire along the headlining, and down the wiring conduit in the A-pillar? guessing then that the ES doesn't have the powered self dimming rear view mirror?
  9. here you go den ;) linky dont know how accurate it is. Concerned about this myself - I am changing from a Sony Ericcson T610 to a Samsung D500 for exactly this reason mate
  10. I see - that unit would probably fit real nice up there then. good place for it too - its unobtrusive, and a natural place for your eye to go when you receive a call. if you do this - I wouldn't mind some pics of your install
  11. I would have had difficulty putting the parrot screen by my rear view mirror - the screen would have obscured the mirror. I've not seen that section of an ES though - so you may have room. my sony ericcson does that now - just not through the car kit. It even does it through my laptop speakers, as I was horrified to find out when I was doing a presentation / walkthrough on a previous contract. I had the phone paired up to the laptop, as I have software that lets me control the PC through my phone. Sounds geeky I know - but its ace for powerpoint stuff, you can wander around the room, clicking the "Yes" button to trigger the next bullet point, slide etc. My phone was on silent, but obviously turned on. My partner rang up, and instead of just vibrating, where I would have just dropped the call - the laptop announced her name, VERY LOUDLY.
  12. am i missing something? the sites itself says that the TRD Oil Cap is available for the following years LS 1990-1992 1993-1994 1995-1997 1998-2000 The Gas Cap Cover is available for the 1990-1992, 1993-1994, 1995-1997 and 1998-2000 LS
  13. I cannot tell who is calling. But then, in the UK, the authorities are pretty anal about using a phone in the car - it is an offense to use a phone in the car unless you are fully handsfree. I fully agree with these rules - so have no problem obeying them. mine does not - but some do. There is a Parrot kit, which has a combined microphone / screen, pic below.
  14. Hey Neo - not seen you aruond for a while! I dont know what the UK setup is - may be Colin does? do you have any issues with noise with these? We have had a fair few UK guys complaining about noise from the mounts. This was with Tein Flex on their IS's.
  15. I have a bluetooth handsfree kit in the UK - a Sony Ericcson one. The microphone is by the rear view mirror The control button is on the blanking plate above the foot brake release. that tiny piece of wire below the button is the only wire you can see of the install. The only issue with a bluetooth kit is that it does not charge your phone. I get around this by having a phone charger in the bottom of the arm rest, and I keep the phone in there. I have no problems with reception, or pairing. I get in, the phone and car connect - and I make and receive calls using that one button, and voice tags ;) I also have a bluetooth headset, as I dislike using mobile phones. I find it much easier to have a rpoper car kit, than to worry about putting the ear piece on, or wearing it all trip in case some one calls.
  16. excellent! /looks for pics. where's the pics? dont make me break out the "worthless" smiley!
  17. Anyone any experience of L-Tuned springs and shocks? just found these? L-Tuned Shocks - $169 L-Tuned Springs - $219
  18. I know mate - but there is more experience of this over here than in the UK. Thats two recommendations for tein <_< Sharad likes the SS ones though
  19. mitymouse I am actively looking into suspension mods now ;) I have just had a photoshop done - and I LOVE the effect ( ). Take a look at this thread - thats what I'm hoping for next ;)
  20. I posted some images recently of my car, having had the Prolex-UK eyelids fitted. And, what was really noticeable to me, was that my car really needs to be lower It would appear that small children have setup a climbing frame in my wheelarches, and play there during the day Was chatting about this with LOC's resident photoshop guru (scarface on LOCUK), and he lowered the car. So we went from Current, small children infested version Photoshopped lower Its not the best of shots to use for this exercise, but it was the best one I had lieing around. The second shot looks pretty much like what I want. I'm not a fan of the "slammed to the floor" look - so not thinking of going really low on coilovers. Whats the concensus on a GS430 on Eibach / TTE springs? I had these on my IS, and was very happy - nice drop, and not too much impact on the ride quality. Can I expect the same on the GS? Is the 'chop above roughly right for a set of springs do you think?
  21. hey Mike - long time no see - welcome back ;) new GS430 - very, very nice. and with some of your "extra" touches I presume?
  22. they would look good on the car ;)
  23. the car is not lowered - yet <_< thats still planned for the future - not sure how yet. I'm not a fan of the "slammed to floor" look - so a nice inch or so drop, off a set of TTE springs would do me (my car is already on 18's :) ) thanks for the compliment
