  1. I adjusted your statement Steve. think that what you meant to say ;) :D :D :D If Dr Evil freaked Rex out - should I break out the dancing superheroes again?
  2. Figured I'd change it anyway - this better? Bigger Kevin Smith fan than Austin Powers fan anyway B)
  3. LOL look <===== he's staring at YOU!!!
  4. Hi skull - welcome to the club! check out the board sponsor - Lextasy.com - they have a range of GS kits :D
  5. We do not automatically send email notifications for thread responses, as this eventually ends up being completely annoying - getting loads of emails every day. Instead we provide you with forum software that lets you pick and choose which threads or forums you want to follow. If you scroll right down the bottom, you'll see two options 1 - Track this topic - sign up for email notifications of responses to any thread you wish 2 - Subscribe to this forum - recieve email notifications of new posts to any forum you wish This gives you the flexibilty to folow the topics / forums you are interested in - as opposed to getting emails for every thread you have ever posted in. B)
  6. Can't really comment too much Import_Boy - as I am in the UK. But over hear, I have never had any problem getting an unaccompanied test drive - in fact have never been out with a dealer in the car. I suppose some of that might be age / type of car you drive related. When I test drove the IS for the first time - Lexus gave me the car for nearly all day, unaccompanied - no problems at all.
  7. Virgil sorry mate - couldn't find you there. pm me in gold and I'll send you the link to TOMS @ cost price ;)
  8. The Lexus Owners Club is an internet based club for Lexus owners and enthuasists. This particular web site is the American Lexus Owners Club, primarily for owners in the US - however you are welcome to join the club where ever you live! If you are based in the UK, then you may be interested in the UK Lexus Owners Club Alternatively, if you are based in Europe, then you may be interested in the European Lexus Owners Club We strive to provide a relaxed and friendly home on the Internet for Lexus Owners to come together and discuss their cars, share problems or solutions, or to ask for help if they need it. Membership of the club is free, registration is both instant and easy, and you can be online and discussing your car with other Lexus owners in minutes.
  9. Good point zeta. I have only ever bought brand new cars ( B) ) - so I am always driving the dealers demonstrator, which I will not be buying. So therefore, I "enjoy" the car to it's fullest, safe in the knowledge that if I buy it, a shiny new one will be delivered on a trailer. :D Clearly, if you are buying a used car, then you will want to treat it with more respect. 1 - you don't want to do any damage to a car you may be buying 2 - the owner may not be too impressed with you treating their car that way.
  10. I always use two different techniques. The first one is to "play" with the car - push it, have fun - see what it can do. Maybe push it a bit harder than I would push my own - after all, its not your car you're thrashing the nuts off B) But then I spend most of the test drive driving the car in exactly the manner I normally drive, in a variety of circumstances (motorway, local roads etc). If it is a car you are seriously considering buying, then you need to drive it exactly how you would normally to see if you will enjoy it on a day to day basis.
  11. Hey John! /matt waves to Johnny Boy nice to see you over this side as well matey ;) B)
  12. Hi crazyfore - welcome to the club! Don't have an RX myself, so can't share any personal experience sorry. But - can repeat some advice one of our UK members gave in a similar situation. If this is a perfectly normal noise, and all RX's make it - ask the dealer to sit in an RX with you (one of the nice shiny new ones in their showroom) and show you how that one makes the same noise. ;)
  13. yeah - gonna go with zeta here. get you alignment checked - sounds an awful lot like "tram lining" to me. will be cheaper than new shocks / springs. if you get new shocks / springs, you really should get the alignment done as well anyway, so could save yourself some money. B)
  14. true - sort of. you need to be careful of the electrics - cover up the alternator and battery connector. water and electricity do not play well togther at all. As long as you but plastic bags over the electrics, and secure it well with ties / elastic bands - then blast away with the jet washer!
  15. B) damn - can't find the link to the ultimate workstation puts Rex's to shame. This thing rotates to ensure best use of light, is air conditioned - everything.
  16. I noticed - kept meaning to ask if you were taking the IS on, or just using it while your friend was away (and so you could pretend to be "one of the boys" and turn up in an IS!!)
  17. Virgil pm me mate - if you are a UK gold member, I can get you TOMS parts for cost price ;)
  18. Wasn't anywhere near as nice over here :( I did not spend any time on a beach whatsoever :( Ha! but you guys never got to sit in a motorway service station talking to Steve and Rodders!
  19. The guys sponsoring the site at the moment do GS spoilers. Lextasy.com GS Grills and Spoilers page is that any use?
  20. cool and funny is good - I like cool and funny myself! your own ebay ads might be ok as well. Lets see - say your are selling some bits off your car you have spare (lets say your old rims, 'cos you've just bought some nice shiny new ones) Advertise them in Buy and Sell forum, put them on ebay and post a link. I won't mind that - its Lexus related, and its not commerical - its a one-off personal sale. If you have an ebay site selling wheels all the time, and you post a link - that will be taken down, as that is commercial advertising. Bit of a fine line - but don't worry, any commercial links Isee won't be around for long ;) What do you reckon? Thats a nice fair set of rules isn't it? We can still laugh and joke @ the fun stuff, and the people who try and pester us to buy stuff are removed.
  21. strange. What I said before still stands, keep 'em broadly on topic, and none commercial - not a problem. any commercial or unsuitable links are removed anyway - whether they be to ebay or anywhere else. This one is fine - wish someone would give me a Lotus (except I like the Elise - you guys have the Elise over there? Gorgeous car)
  22. Cool - you fancy rounding a few up and sending them to the site? I'll create an Atlanta forum for you guys, you can plan the meets in there if you like (make you the mod of that forum if you like Alex?)
  23. should this be in GS300 then? I'll move it if it should
