  1. good luck...oh yea, the starvation in my bimmer was because the brakes needed to be replaced. bmw has wear sensors just like the sc300-400s do. get this, they only put wear sensors on the front left and right rear tires!! so here I am experiencing starvation with my clutch ( because clutch and brakes use the same fluid tank), only to find out the that the brake pads one the right front and left rear were almost gone!!! I would have never guessed if I didn't look, after all isn't that what "brake wear sensors" are for? Thanks bmw for not putting sensors on all four calipers.
  2. take the front and put it to the back, both sides. or have them balanced at a shop...should be like 10 bucks a tire.
  3. one good test is to tap your starter lightly with a hammer when it acts up. If she all of a sudden starts when you turn the key after the tap, you most likely have bad windings...replace the starter. get the fsm from the "pinned" section. it will tell you what to do. however, starter replacement is not hard. disconnect the battery, then remove the starter. there should be only 2-3 bolts holding it on and a few electrical connections.
  4. just to be sure, make sure your brake reservoir is at the full line....i know you said it is good, but just make sure it is in fact there. I had a bmw that would loose clutch pressure during a hard left turn..turned out to be starvation...
  5. how many fuel pumps are there in your year of lexus....could be a failing fuel pump check filter and run some injector cleaner through it.
  6. check in this exact order. it is as per fsm. tires (out of round), wheel balance wheel alignment steering linkage hub bearings steering gear suspension parts.
  7. black 1996 es, 200thou. certified lexus 100 thou ago. $1800. front seats need to be recovered and it needs a windshield.....I think I stole this thing!!! Nothing else is wrong with it!!
  8. when you hooked up your fog lights to the parking lights you over loaded the system. The parking circuit is not designed to handle that much load. check your fuse box, you may find a melted fuse or wires, also, check your wiring...could have burned up a wire.
  9. something about a shroud rubbing against the tranny gears??????????? Can anybody clear this up?????
  10. I saw a topic on this here..do not remember where it was, but if your noise is what I am thinking about, it is normal. all in all, I think it will be fine.
  11. does it happen just when you are going 20 or when you are going over bumps and speed bumps?
  12. What are the speaker sizes in the front doors?
  13. is the battery installed the right way?
  14. grab some tire repair in a can just in case, oil, etc. tools would be good too.
  15. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I do my own work too, and I am a decent trouble-shooter. However, sometimes you just have to take the car in. Take it to a carx or something where they diagnose it for free. I do that when I just cant figure it out. I wish you good luck on your beautiful car.
  16. Thanks tom, I was thinking about doing the strut myself...having no strut experience, do you think it will be an easier repair? Do the struts come pre-loaded? can I just repair one strut or do I have to do both sides....some shops say you should do both sides and charge an arm and a leg...
  17. thank you for your response tom, Yea I was thinking that, however, there is a slight clunk when I hit a speed bump coming from the right side....passengers say they feel the car shake (from the right) before the wheel does...im guessing strut, wheel balance and alignment need to be done ( pulls the the right).
