  1. I just took off my wheels yesterday and found this huge bubble on the inside wall of my tire. This thing is gatta be at least 8 inches long all along the wall. Is there some kind of a way to get a new replacement tire from the manufacturer?

  4. The heat sheild on you catalyc converter might be loose. I had a small noice too and just ripped off the shield off the cat.
  5. I actually never thought of that. You bring up an excellent point. I will look into it today and order those rings to see if they make a difference. Thanx,
  6. Do not go to a dealer to do you brakes. They rip you off. It is so easy to the brakes. It is recommended that you get the rotors cut every time you put on new pads, but every other time is OK too. However, go to a local autoparts store and find out if they cut rotors. I know a bunch of places around me cut rotor for $10 each. It takes about an hour to do both. I also recommend AXXIS brake pads. Last spring I put on cross drilled slotted rotors on my car with AXXIS brake pads. Within one year maybe 1/3 of the pads wore off. And I drive my car hard. I got the BRADI rotors with AXXIS brake pads for the front for less than $200 on ebay. If you get new rotors get them with the zinc plated finish. It's only $10 difference, but they dont get that rusty look after rain.
  7. I never actually looked at mine. But there should be a rubber plug in the differential casing. If you pop the plug out and the oil comes out, that means you have enough. You can either check it on a lift or crawl under the car. If you pop the plug and there is no oil coming out, you might wanna add some oil. You can use gear oil.... I am pretty sure the label on it says 85W Gear Oil.
  8. One thing that might be wrong is the balance on the tire. But one questions is why did you buy a new tire. Did it pop on a pot hole? I can tell you from experience. If balancing the tire does not help. Then your rim is bent. Usually when the rim is bent the vibration shows up at 60mph and goes away at 80mph. If balancing does not help get the rim staightened out. For a 17 in. rim. If you bring it to a shop without the tire it shouldn't cost more than $100.
  9. I also have 20's on my car. They look fine and turn heads. The only thing you lose with 20's is the ride comfort. The quality of the ride is just not the same. I have 20 X 8.5 all around. With 255/35/20 tires. If that helps. They only rub a little bit when you turn the wheels all the way. But after a few times the wheel wells should rub out and stop rubbing.
  10. Here is some advice. I have a 1998 GS300 with 20" wheels. I also have Eibach lowering springs on it. There is not that much difference between the stock 16's and 20's however, the car is a little but stiffer and more sensitive to bumps. The best thing I would receommend for you is put on 18's and lowering springs on your GS, that way you don't lose the ride quality and you will look great with the 18's and minimal wheel gaps.
