what year is your car? anyways i have increased my gas mileage from about 16.8 to 19.1. here is what i did and when i noticed the change. 1. Weapon r cold air intake: no change 2. Changed to mobil 1 fully synthetic oil (from reg) and tried not to floor it all the time: about 1-1.5 mpg increase 3. Replaced plugs (which looked pretty good,) with bosch Platinum Ir Fusion spark plugs: about another .5 - 1 mpg 4. K&N filter for my intake: about another .5 mpg 5. Just got a HKS exhaust: dont know yet, but hopefully will see 20mpg! and this is all city driving

i got it from ebay, i just checked and there are some for like $130 and i got the filter from amazon for about $50ish cant really remember. i have to admit its not the best looking thing in the world...the chrome intake with a K&N filter...but it sure does sound good! and i did notice some power increase.

hey man hold on...do NOT get injen or AEM intakes. The reason is that they are basically the same as any other intake, but double the price (and dynos have proved that) SRT makes the best, but what i did was get a weapon r intake and put a K&n filter on the end. (the filter they come with is crap) but if i were you i would get either a K&N intake, or SRT (or what i did, and save $150) only thing is the SRT is like $500-600

Borla makes a good exhaust for what you want, and its just an axle back, so its not to loud. I just bought a Hks Hi-power axle back for my 98 gs3 (just got it put on today :) ) BUT... it is a little loud, not obnoxious, but not quiet either. It also tends to drone at about 1 1/2 - 2 rpm but after that its fine. AND the tips are a little on the big side 120mm. . .not exactly my taste, but it'll grow on me. Best price for borla that i have found is from grip motorsports. $596 (the Hks is $515) + $50 ship and about $50-70 installation (midas etc...)

I'm pretty sure somethings wrong with my remote door locks, when ever i unlock or lock the car i have to be at least within 3 feet of the car, and i have to hit the button like 10 times. I have replaced both batteries (in my keys) and i was wondering if there is anything that could wrong with the receiver that could be causing this. Thanks

Ok, so i have a 98 gs300 and like many people, my headlights are kind of hazy. I used headlight cleaner and they looked amazing! but 2 weeks later, they looked the same as before! any ideas on how to keep them nice looking without having to re-polish them every 2 weeks? thanks

I just ordered a Hks Hi power exhaust for my 99 gs3. ( i decided to keep it) :) anyways, does anyone have any suggestions or tips for installation..i messed around with it awhile ago, but was unable to get those bolts loose at all. and suggestions? (i used liquid wrench and a pry bar, and never got them the budge) Thanks

Its a fuse, the same thing happened to my 98 gs. But . . . it was caused by a blown lamp light circuit board (i think thats what they (lexus) said...) I had no break lights at all except the top one. but its probably just a fuse in your case, but if you fix the fuse and your break lights still dont work, thats what it is.

The 01+ has the same engine and power as the 98-00. also, my 98 has the air bag seat indicator thing and side airbags...where those options on the 98-00 and they just became standard on the 01?

no, actually its about 1500 under nada and about right at kbb.

You could get away with it if you really need to save about $1.50 a fill up. some ppl say it might start knocking...but i dont think it would really do anything...BUT there is a little flaw in your thinking, and that is if you use regular or mid grade you will get about 1-2 mpg WORSE, and if you figure that out... (this is losing 1 mpg with mid grade based off of 3.90 a gal for mid and 4.00 for premium and 1 mpg difference.) you would spend $65 a fill up with mid grade and $63.16 with premium. so in other words, it costs you more to be cheap, about .35, and not to mention performance. hope that helps (and sorry if i came across rude about the cheap thing...didn't mean it. :)

I bought it 2 years ago last month, I just want a sports car ..I loved the car, but i dont do any highway driving, and i just want something better for the city and mountain roads. I still think toyota and lexus are #1, but i just want a different kind of car right now. what do you think of the price? to high? Thanks

I love my car..but its time to go. Any suggestions on how to sell it quickly? I'm asking $8995 and willing to go down to $8500 and its got 150,000 miles, new paint, clean title, and is in almost perfect condition (for the age). It has no problems at all. I have it on craigslist at the moment..but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

Well...in my oppinion aftermarket rims are 10x more trouble than there worth...but anyways.. Rims check that out..they have a ton of rims and you can view them on the car (and i even already have the gs loaded...how nice of me :P )

Oh and fyi the gs and es dont have the same engines...the 2jz (gs300 and supra) in my opinion is a far better engine. gas mileage will prob be a little less on the gs...but its worth it.

i have a 98 gs300 with 150k and have had no major problems...and you are right about the reliability of lexus, its just people tend to only complain about stuff not working..not comment on everything that does. I would go with the gs hands down. My dad had a es a few years ago..and they are just boring compared to the gs, great cars, just not as exciting.

Well, this was about 10 yrs ago..and where i lived it was 1.70 i refer to my car as being a few years old...(its a 98) :P
