If you're on a budget: Cut the mufflers and run pipe straight back and the find some nice tips (or reuse the stock ones). Sounds great!

Hey are there other screws behind the low beams to get the top mounting bolt series out? I just took the two out that are above the high beams. If so, I'll just take the headlights out later...lol

Hey guys Here's a brief run down again I buy the car last year: comes with aftermarket Sony head unit installed professionall using the Sony harness connected to a Metra adaptor. The metra adaptor connected right to TWO radio plugs in my dash. That radio can still work. I now have a Nak (Probably won't work for me) out of a 95 SC400 Also have a base model radio out of a 92 SC400. Now, I noticed that this radio DOES NOT say Pioneer ANYWHERE on it. It just says LEXUS "premium audio system" and TOYOTA written on the bottom. Neither Lexus radio connect to MY dash wiring. Attached are pictures. Notice how I have harness pulled out of the car...that is from the 95 SC400 from which the Nak came. That harness fits the 92 as well! I'm completely lost here. Send me pics of what you have. Thanks This is my dash wiring, behind the radio and climate set-up. This harness above is from the 95. It is NOT the same as the first picture, which is my dash assembly. This is the removed 95 SC400 assembly attached to the 1992 SC400 Lexus radio (It also connects into the 95 SC400 Nak radio. THis is the OEM Lexus radio removed from the 92 SC400. Notice that the radio shown in the above images is a NON-Nakamichi radio from a 1992 SC400. Remember, I have a 1992 SC300. The wiring for a Nakamichi radio from a 1995 SC400 fits into a NON nak radio from a 1992? How is that right? My dash wiring doesn't line up at all. I'm so lost.

GSlide how did not you not have to remove the entire bumper to get the high beams in? My black high and low beams are coming next Tuesday

lol wiring diagrams confuse the hell out of me If I go to the yard tomorrow, would it be possible to make those metra adaptors work with those factory plugs?

There are factory plugs there...just nothing that plugs into even my 92 SC400 Pioneer radio. It leads me to believe there's more wiring.

No they cut the Metra harness that connected to two of the plugs that I am holding, and then into the Sony unit.

I live up near South Bend. There are two, both at different yards. Can you supply me with a pic of the wiring connected to your radios?

I have a 1992 SC300 automatic. I went to a junk yard last week that had a 92 SC400 with no heated seats or traction control. It had the stock Pioneer head unit in the car. I bought that radio. Then, yesterday, I found one at another yard: a fully loaded 1995 or 96 SC400 that had a Nakamichi system. I bought that radio. Last night I started tinkering with the radios. My car came with a cheap Sony head unit installed by Best Buy before I bought the car. When I tried first plugging the Pioneer one in only two of the plugs plugged in. The Nak was the same way. Posted below are some pictures of the four plugs that should go to the radios. The blue one and one of the white ones. Why wont even the 92 Pioneer radio hook up? Are there additional wiring harnesses that I need? Thanks

Can you post a pic of which bolts? I had mine hanging by the hoses when I did my AC compressor. It should be pretty simple.

Hey GSlide can we see a front on shot of you car with those chrome Ebay ones. I'm so torn!! I don't know if I like the black ones or the chrome ones better. GRRR

You might just want to look into the projector high beams on Ebay. They look nice and from what I have heard actually are worth the cost. I plan on getting a set soon.

Ya know, I'm all for custom engineering and swaps. But an SBC? Maybe I'm just biased because of my family blindly being faithful GM owners and getting royally boned on every car they have purchased.

Don't use a heat gun to open the lights. You WILL warp the black housing. I need a new one because of this. Three minutes in your oven at 325 degrees will open it up nicely. Spend a few hours taking ALL of the old sealant off of the lights and reseal them as they would from the factory. The ones that are sealed on the outside look like crap. You can buy the Ebay lights that look really cool and make them fit.

Oh and JZZ30, the 97 skirts and rear aren't a priority. The will most likely come not next summer but the summer after. Next summer the 72 Celica gets some major rust work.

The compressor was cycling, which indicates a bad compressor. It can't hold anything coming into it. This was checked at a repair shop by an AC professional. And I have decided on the Ebay Headlights. W00T

Are you asking where to buy one or what kind to do an aftermarket setup? I have a completely stock suspension right now. Here's what I slowly plan on doing: Energy Suspension rear and front sway bushings, Daizen bushings Tokico Blue struts, Espelir springs, new OEM strut mounts I need to do more research but I want a decent performing suspension that I can acquire over time. Stock suspension is reasonably sloppy but comfortable for daily driving conditions, provided all components are in good, working order. I haven't yet. I'm waiting to afford a reman compressor from this reputable guy on Ebay. He sells reman SC300 Denso OEM compressors for about $220 USD shipped to my door. Friends have used him for a few other cars and rate his service well. As soon as I change the compressor, should I THEN evac and recharge? Any thoughts on my 97+ update?

I have spent months trolling the CL forums and have been tired of the way they handle members there. I have decided to start my 97+ conversion for this summer. Here is what I want to accomplish this summer: 97+ front bumper cover 97+ bumper grille 98-04 Dodge Intrepid fog lights with modification to fit 97+ SC bumper cover. Front clip respray Fix the AC: When I got the car, the compressor would "cycle". I got a 95 R134A compressor and it does not work. Still throws code 23 of low pressure or whatever. Do you think just getting a new compressor would fix this? I also want to fix the passenger side door so it opens from the inside. Also, I notice now that along with the Ebay headlight assemblies, there are now Ebay high beam assembly listings with projector headlights. Anyone have the low or high beams from ebay yet?
