  1. I'm sorry... I should of mentioned this when I posted... but I have already had them do that TSIB for the seat squeak and they have already "addressed my dash rattle". What I am to do go guys? Thanks Drew
  2. I do the exact same thing (press the left screw) and the noise goes away. I can even squeeze from inside the gauge cluster and outside the gauge cluster, and the noise will go away. Someone PLEASE tell me what to tell the dealer to fix this noise... I can't live with it much longer. Also, my seat is squeaking when you take turns and/or get out and in. What do you guys think it could be? Thanks Drew 07 IS 250
  3. I haven't had my IS for long (has a little over 7,000 miles... I hate to say that)... and I really do love it... but there are some things that have really tarnished the whole experience. Here's my list... 1. The DAY I got my car, when they were "cleaning it up" so I could take it home, they scratched the door panel right above the door handle... pretty bad (very noticeable... by me anyways). The reason I know that they were the ones that did it is because I was the only one to ever drive the car... ever (at the dealership anyways... had just gotten off the truck) had 3 miles on it... and when I got out of it to do the paperwork... it wasn't scratched... an hour or so later, it was. They said they would fix it... blah blah blah... they haven't yet - but they probably will... (haven't really had the chance the times it has been down there). And now, there is one of the dash right above the speedometer (which occured right after they applied my "Touch of Class" service... yea.. right...). 2. Got the clear bra and the touch of class service (paint, leather sealant) and the clear bra has a wrinkles in it in one solid line coming up from the hood - all the way back to where it ends... they haven't fixed that yet. The Touch of Class crap wasn't really really poorly applied... you could tell all over the place where they had "missed" parts... especially on the black leather seats. 3. THE MOST ANNOYING... several rattles - about 3. THE WORST one is what this post is all about... the rattle from the Steering Column. I have the luxury package, so it is the power adjustable column... I really think something has broken inside (it works fine, but it sounds like something broke off and is just rattling like crazy in there...). It happens a lot - can even hear it with radio about 41 or so on a CD... yea... that loud. AND IT IS VERY OFTEN... coincides with bumps in the road and sometimes just light vibrations from the road material... they better do something about it when I have to take it in... don't you think that they will? They have a lot to handle... and what really *BLEEP*es me off... is that I was 18 when I bought the car (no, not Mommy and Daddy... I did... all they did was sign their name too...) and now I am 19 and their (dealership) insurance still will not allow me to take a loaner out - but, don't you think they can make an exception. The series of things that I need to have addressed are quite large... and since the dealership is about 90 miles away... I think I deserve one. Please tell me what you think guys... and if any of you have had these issues. The steering column rattle and the scratch on the door panel are my biggest concerns... because I really don't think they will adequately replace either one of them. Please tell me what I should expect from them... thanks guys!!! This forum is great!
  4. Check it out guys... http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/ What are the differences? The gauges seem to be a little more blue possibly... not sure. Can you guys find anything different?
  5. Supposedly it is actually different; it is "supposed" to include over 3 times the amount of active cleaners (e.g. Techron) in the gas that other Premium gasolines. Not really sure if that is true OR if it would have anything to do with worse/better gas mileage.
  6. I was told by the dealership that with the low profile tires - especially if the car was sitting either in high heat or in the same place for a long time, it would warp the tires slightly - but would eventually go away within 15-20 minutes of driving (depending on type of driving). I imagine that is what the noise is - especially if it increases in frequency as you drive. That might be it, just a thought.
  7. I have compared these vehicles so much, that - for most people, it would drive them insane... I have finally made up my mind and I am getting the 350. The TL Type S is nice, but 0-60 isn't close to the 350, does not have SmartAccess system (which is more important than you think, most REALLY like it), Xenon AFS system (steerable/auto-leveling lights - pretty awesome safety feature), nor does it have Ventilated Seats. Insurance was cheaper for the 350 than the Type S was for me, too. Also, the Total Cost to Own by Edmunds is less for the 350 compared to the TL (which doesn't even include the Type S, bigger engine, bigger brakes; overall higher cost to maintain). The front end is, at least for me, sexier on the TL, but I mean look at the 350 - it is overall more amazing to me - in every aspect - including exterior and interior. Just my two cents worth though...
  8. Thanks! What was the sticker on the car, again, if you don't mind me asking? haha. How much was it below the MSRP? and what was your out the door price? Thanks again!
  9. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up paying with the Luxury Package? I am looking to purchase one soon, and I really want to know what to fight for (as in out the door pricing). Thanks Drew
