  1. Not that this is what you want to hear but, I have the same problem. will your car relock the doors if you only open a rear door and not a front? It seems like the computers do not know the the rear doors are open. I was thinking that this might be a door lock actuator but, to have both set of contacts go bad at the same times seems unlikey. BTW the door lock actuators have contacts that show what the door is doing inside them. BP
  2. They are called some kind of codes. I think Toyota could do it but, they would be scared.

  6. ok...when i hit the unlock button on the remote i can hear the drivers door trying to unlock but it doesnt. when i hit it again all the other doors unlock. if i hit the lock button only the driver side back door locks. If i use the lock button in the car the same thing happens. only the back driver door locks. but they all work manually. its just really annoying to have a lexus and not have the door locks of all things not work the way you want them to Please see.. My DIY more info than you would ever want to know.... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=289839
  7. The post cat O2 sensors are fairly easy to replace / bypass / simulate. I have an 00 Tundra V8 that I designed and built a circuit to bypass them. All the post cat o2 Sensors check for is cat performance. THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ENGINE MAPPING. B
  8. The I6 engine was put in the Supra and Cresida (I think).. Why would they be unfamilar with that. The iridium plugs should be good for 100K or more.. .. I would not let those monkeys work on my car. Same goes for the V8. That motor is basicly the same as the V8s they put in the FourRunners and Tundras.... B
  9. Try www.lexus.com they may have somthing for you
  10. You said it vibrates even when its idleling? This sounds like it might be an engine problem. Have you checked the spark plugs and wires? You have got to be kidding me. Poor site.

I have found something on clublexus that might be usefull. http://www.gainrecordings.com/lexus/1998%2...8%20field%20fix and http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...rack&page=1 The fix might be year specific as they changed the design of the rack sometime druing the 1st year. 98... I actually just eventually just drove it over heating. Said F it. It got worse and worse so I took the heads off resurfaced and new gaskets and it ran great.
