  1. Back in October, my wife hit a curb pretty good and did some front right suspension damage. They replaced control arms, the whole exhaust and a flurry of other components. They said there was no frame damage at all. They did replace the front right strut as well. Well, after getting the car back after 6 weeks or so, the car just didn't seem to drive right. While driving at speed, if you drove over any significant bump or hit a pothole, it felt like the !Removed! end was all over the place, particularly the rear left corner. We took it back to the shop that repaired it. They went over everything as far as frame specs and alignment specs and couldn't find a thing wrong. I thought it could be that they only replaced the one strut and not the rest, so I recently replaced them. It felt a little better, but the problem is still there. Is there something I'm missing? What could be causing this problem? BTW, it's a '99 with 76K miles.
  2. i.e...........the bigger the wheel the rougher the ride and that is a FACT I'm not doubting the above statement.......Sheesh people! I'm not trying to start a 'yes, it rides worse' debate. I was just making a statement and once again, it turns into a big deal. It will ride different than stock, no doubt about it. I just can't stand people that don't like to customize their rides bashing people that do or have a negative comment to make about it. If you don't have anything good to say when people post pics of their mods, don't say anything at all. People like to see approval of their efforts, not people bashing or stating their dislikes. I know it's a free country, but what if every time you made a post, somebody would make a negative comment back? It would get old, wouldn't it?
  3. Try American Lexus in Scottsdale. They told me about $210ish a few months back. I have yet to swallow that horse pill yet.
  4. Personally, I have been putting wheels on every vehicle I have owned since I was 16. To me, stock is very boring. Why have the same thing as everyone else? Dare to be different, step out on the edge and take the leap! If he wants to put 22's on the new GS, then so be it. I personally think that they look DAMN GOOD! They flow well with the lines on the car and it almost has the concept look to it. Maybe he isn't going the whole "speed, performance & handling" route with the car. But that is his call! I'd bet the car still rides and handles the same, but some people don't see it that way when you 'customize' a luxury car. Kudos to the moderator for the way that 'Costanza' was handled, he was stating criticism, not opinion. So, to everybody that has posted their 'opinion' :D, and to all of you who 'criticize' ! Happy Holidays!
  5. Turbo, I see those prices and I can't believe my eyes! I look on the same site under 'collision' and they want $217 each. Are these the same parts? Remember his actuators were sticking in the heat! <_< ← ← You should be able to find them all here for about a 3rd of the price. ←
  6. That's me. I just want to replace all four, but not pay the $292/each the dealer, I mean stealer wants. Remember his actuators were sticking in the heat! <_< ←
  7. Could someone provide me with the 4 part numbers for the door actuators on a 1999 GS400? The dealer told me that they could not release that information to me. Thanks in advance! :D
  8. I'm sure this has been beat to death before. I want to install an aftermarket deck in me 99 GS400. Is the OEM amp integrated into the OEM deck or is it seperate? Can I use the OEM amp with the aftermarket deck? Thanks for the info.
  9. But would the heat cause the actuators to freeze up and not work?
  10. I have a 1999 GS400. I am having a problem with my automatic door locks. This is either using the remote or the buttons on the door panel itself. It seems when it is hot out, I am lucky to have 2 doors unlock, sometimes only one will. They also will not lock. I have to manually lock certain doors. When the outside temperature cools down, everything works just fine. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for the input.
  11. Anyone know what exactly they do at the 60K service on the GS400? And has anyone had it done cheaper elsewhere? Lexus of Albuquerque wants almost $900.00. Thanks in advance!!
  12. My 400's door locks freak out once in a while. Sometimes some of the doors don't lock or unlock with either the remote or the interior switch. Does anybody else have any problems like this? If so, do you have or have you heard of any remedies? Thanks for the help!
