  1. That would be my guess as well. ;) I read the same thing on the website......but did not notice a seperate 'XSE' model itself. B) Hi Everyone! I have to get tires for my 92 LS soon. Right now they're on MXV4's but only gave about 30K...Pretty disappointing..I'm wondering if any of you have put Bridgestone Turanza LS H tires on your LS cars..Have you noticed any difference? Which do you think is better? My LS only drives once a week and never in bad weather.. Thanks, Sam
  2. I replaced the fuel pulsation dampener and it stopped the noise
  3. I here good things about siping tires. It roads get a lot of ice on them in winter and I think I should try it and get better traction and longer life of the tires. Do any of you members sipe?
  4. I have a dull fluttering sound inside the car that I finally pinpointed,I think. I used my stethascope and put it right on my fuel line filter under the car and thats the only place that I get the same sound . the fuel line leads to the fuel pump in the tank. do fuel pumps make noise sometimes or is mine going out . I've had the sound now for about 3-4 months. the car seems to start and run just fine.
  5. I called my lexus dealer for a filter and he said that he couldn't remember the last time they sold one he said that they dont even replace them at the dealership because its to easy to break fuel lines. can I use a wix filter from napa? I think replacing the filter is a GOOD Idea . Ill start there and be careful with the lines . thanks
  6. Which fuel pump do I buy for my 94 LS ? I hear there is two different kinds a nippon/denzo and a nother one I cant remember the name. Do you have to take out the old one two find out which one you have or can you tell by the serial no. on the car. And onother question has anybody installed one of those TRE fuel pumps they sell on ebay? are they quiet? Where can a guy buy one for less than Irontoads oem $280
  7. I never do this but I ran my 94 LS low on gas (above the the E but the light was on). I stopped for gas and filled it up ,letting my son put the gas cap back on, I then tried starting and it would'nt . It turned over but wouldn't start a couple three times I finally had to give it a little gas and it finally started and ran perfectly like always I then drove home about 250 mi. and on the way stopped a few times and the same thing( long turn over to start )like never before. The next day I put in a can of seafoam and filled the tank. but I noticed when my son had put the gas cap back on the day before it was not fully tightened. could this have something todo with it? I made sure after fill up that the cap was tight and a day later I disconnected the battery to reset things but it is still starting bad . Did I over heat the fuel pump when low on gas? Did I get some crap from the gas tank into the lines , filter , check valve, injecters ? My car runs great after starting like usuall. it has 160,000 mi. on it
  8. I never do this but After running my car really low on gas(the light came on) but was still above E. I filled up with 92 oct. and I told my boy to put the gas cap back on. Then I got in the car and it didn't want to start I tried a couple times and finally had to give it a little gas before it started . I then drove home about 300 mi. the car drove just fine just like usuall but when I stopped a couple of times it started very bad . I got home and the next day I put in a can of sea foam and filled it up again. sometimes it starts just fine and sometimes it doesn't(without giving it a little gas) My question Is when I ran it low on gas did I heat up the fuel pump and is it going out? my car has 160,000 mi. on it . Or did I get some crap from the bottom of gas tank in the line or in the filter or in the checkvalve? Also I noticed when I filled the gas the next day the boy had not tightened it very well and it was kind of loose I wonder If that could have messed with the computer(not having the right pressure in the tank)? My car runs perfect after it starts . It just doesn't start like it allways did(perfectly)
  9. what does the "DX" stand for in the radio display for the tuner
  10. My dash light for the brake light shows that my brake light is out but both are fine I replaced both to make sure . but there is still that little red car with the rear lights showing on the dash. how can I make the light go away or is there something else wrong?
  11. I don't know how exactly to explain the noise I get but a quick crackling sound from the front of the engine only when it is cold . it is not ticking from inside the engine(valves) I am wondering if it is not the tensioner/ idler pulley or pulleys. It goes away after a couple of min. The timing belt was supposedly replaced at 90,000 it now has 126000 I am not sure if the pulleys or water pump were replaced or not when that work was done because it wasn't done at a dealer because I checked(they say you can call any lexus dealer and they can tell what work was done on your car if a lexus dealer did it) there was no record of timing belt change but there is a sticker on the front of the engine that says the it was done at 90240 mi. What could it be seeing that it goes away after a few min. of warm up (and no leaking from water pump) My car is a 94 LS
  12. I noticed the same thing when I bought the car there was no leak and no coolant low light on. but as soon as I addedd a cup or so to bring it up to minimum it started to leak and the light came on for a min. or so I left it alone and the level went below the minimum about a 1 1/2" and it's not going any lower and now my light never comes on . I read another post weeks ago that said maybe there was air in the line. I drained the radiator and refilled but it did not help. I think I'll take your advice and do nothing .Like the old saying ignore it and it will go away. Thank you VBdenny!!!
  13. how about a little JB weld for plastic 5-7 Dollars. My time removing,aplying weld,reinstall= 1 Hr. 40 dollars an hour my time $ 47.00 total Resevoir - $130.00 + 45min. my time = $ 160.00 total
  14. I have a leak on my coolant reservoir can I repair or do I have to replace? My car is a 94 LS
  15. ;) It may be that the sway bar bushings need lubrication. I had some noise In front too going over speed bumps or the like. I used a silicone spray after craig on this forum suggested I use a silicone based greese. The sounds went away for me.. Goodluck!
  16. <_< Complete flush , is there a easy way I can do this? Myself?
  17. <_< I see replacing brakepads can have a screeching result! Is this a result of forgotten parts during reinstall? Or do the ceramic take longer to seat than the softer bendix organic. I can get organic $50 cheaper than ceramic Need new brake pads SOON!
  18. B) Hey craig just noticed your 93 is black jade pearl like my 94 . Cool Color
  19. I forgot to add that they are Falken Ziex ZE 512 sport tires and Consumer Reports also rated them smoother riding that the turanza LS-H grand touring . go figure
  20. Has anybody tried the falken tires yet? They were rated #1 in Consumer Reports nov. 2003 Someone posted that he tried some and they felt a little squirmy. But when he inflated up to 32 from 30 he said it went away. He was using them on a 91or 92 model which have 15" OEM's tires and I do believe he was using a lower rating than V I sure would like to know how they would be on a 94 LS with 225/60/16 97V OEM spec. I Know that they are available in V rating in that size. They are very reasonable at 74.00/tire
  21. Thanks craig!!! Last night I lubed up the sway bar bushings with a silicone lubricant spray from prestone and then took my car out for a spin on the same roads that caused the sounds from my front end. Low and Behold they were gone! HURRAY!!! Cost to me ... pennies . I hope that that spray is safe for the rubber does anybody know for sure? And I wonder how long it will last? I'll keep you all posted. Love my car,Love this club
  22. ;) I took a look and everything looks good all the bushings and ball joints . I measured again and seems like about 3/8 in front 3/8 in back I can live with it I'm the only one who can notice it. I'm going to try to lube the sway bars and see if that doesn't cure the crunching sound. I bet it will! Thanks again every body I'll post after lube
  23. :) Sorry I forgot to add that my car has no air suspension. Do you think a worn bushing on the left side could be the problem with the tilting or maybe a bent control arm? I'm going to take a look myself. Thanks everybody!!!
  24. I wanted to replace old and rusted bolts on my LS . I went to my local auto parts store and found them there . I brought my old ones with though . and matched them. I had a problem with a stripped out hole on one so I just wraped some pipe thread tape around the bolt and it held just fine.
