  1. its not always right that more HP means faster in short race. weight plays an important role too. lighter car needs less power to jump. anyway, its disappointed if LS is taken :)
  2. my 90ls400 has just 100k on it, still have a long journey to go then :)
  3. that lexus boy hasnt been back yet, didnt he win? :o anyway, this is the button taken this morning from my car, you may notice the round black rubber button under gas pedal, it is it
  4. valet key can not open trunk and glove box, its only for the ignition, while master key can open all. its likely that you have the valet key
  5. sorry i may be wrong with 3rd gen in my 1st gen ls400 (1990) there is a black button on the floor behind gas pedal, when i floor it, it will trigger this button giving full throttle open mode and the car knows that i am racing ;-) dont have a pix right now, will take one and post later
  6. be sure that you floor the gas pedal so that it will trigger full throttle mode, a hidden button on floor behind gas pedal, which will make your car fly dont be back here if you are taken ;-) wanna see you back man
  7. i believe your car is fine with coolant temp needle is at second-third (middle of the gauge range) temp wasnt ideal on 1st bar (too cool)
  8. yeah, right things to win. wish you luckbtw, is it a long distance like few miles or just come hundreds meters?
  9. now the shift lever can not move out of P even if i do step on brake and the brake light is on. I remove the trim and notice that when shifter in P, no brake press, ignition is ON the actuator that releases shift lock intermitently releases and locks immediately. As if we step on brake and release immediately. But when i step on brake, the actuator does not work to release shift lever. I have to use the "shift lock override" all the time i tested the actuator with 12v directly from battery, it still works perfectly. stoplight switch seems okay as the lights are still going on on brake. the last thing i have not touched (test) is the shift lock computer as i dont know how to test it actually can anyone please advise me on how to fix this. thanks a lot
  10. the mounts really make a world difference. it is what i expect. i am going for that. thanks for the tutor, but i think i better give it to a mechanic. thanks a lot
  11. oh you did it, how do you feel now with new mounts? can sense vibration at idle?
  12. thanks a lot Bali26, so they have more items in stock then what we can find on web. thats bad for them anyway i will send them an email. thansk again
  13. Bali26, i went to Carson's l-tunedparts.com but cant find those stuffs (engine mounts, steering rack grommet...) would you mind giving me a link? thanks
  14. do you still use the OEM lens? i heard that OEM would make the beam glare. come pix of how you mount the projector would be appreciated
  15. lucky you, i wish i had those nice things on my desk good luck with the replacement, please get back here with your feeling when done
  16. i will order 2 engine mounts, 1 tranny mount and steering rack grommets. i agree that age plays more important role in rubber parts life then the miles do. cant wait longer Thanks all for your comments especially convincible post by nc911 ;-)
  17. it wont cost you much money but time to find the cause of trouble since tranny control wires are under shifter deck, i think it should be the first place for you to find the shorted wire. to me its likely that the OD wire (down from shifter to under deck) may be shorted with the shift illumination (so you can see P-R-N-2-L at night when lights are turned on). you can try pressing OD while doing 70mph during day time to see if the car does the same as when you turn lights on at night. if its similar, most likely OD wire is shorted once knowing the cause, open the shifter deck trim is quite easy, simply pry it off using a screwdriver at the right end if you sit on driver seat. you may aslo need to remove the shifter to completely remove the trim. Remove it and make sure all the wires under are properly sealed
  18. thanks guys, so 90 ls400 can be that smooth with new mounts. OEM mounts are expensive, i want to ensure ROI :) btw, anyone has experience on buying the mounts, where should i look for them?
  19. thanks its great to hear that. but yours is 7 yrs newer than mine. i wonder if 1st generation engine can be that nice. have not done any tune up yet however
  20. ls400 '90, i feel the vibration when touching steering wheel or shifter when engine runs idle at P i am wondering if the engine mounts are bad. its original with 100k miles
  21. if it happens not to all doors, you just need to replace the ones that fail. they are normally called door switch, not sensor
  22. my 90 ls400 has that plastic part too, with that one, the car looks much better
  23. i had my TB cleaned the other day, they took out the intake manifold too. since new gaskets were not available, they did cut a new set to replace, works fine till now
  24. hi pishta, it was $200 for all: parts and labor. that why i felt amazing low. I really want to recommend all here the work shop where i got the suspension done. however, i know there is very little chance for any of you here to enjoy that low cost as i am living in VN ;-) i got all the bushings replaced. one ball joint on rear upper control arm replaced, all others ball joints remanufactured
