  1. If you're looking for a really quite ride and a non-directional tire that you can rotate side to side, in a warmer climates (little snow), look at the Nitto Invo. I have a set with about 20K miles. Smooth, very quite ride. Nice handling for normal to slightly agressive driving.
  2. I use the sissor jack that came with the car on the front drivers side jack point behind the front wheel. This tilts the car (oil pan) towards the drain plug and gives me plenty of room to get under the car. (Remember to also use a jack stand for safety!)
  3. My IS250 is about 7 months old and it has about 16K miles. I get 32 - 33 mpg (Tank Average) driving too & from work (mostly rural highway). I am pretty light on the acceleration as gas costs $3 per gallon.... :D
  4. I took delivery of my 2007 IS250 - Black Sapphire Pearl in November of 2006. It now has about 11K miles on it. I like the color very much. Looks Black in low light and dark blue with a pearl sparkle in Sunlight. Keeping it clean is the same for any other dark color, not too bad, yet a quick wash every few weeks keeps it looking good. To minimize any swirl marks from waxing, I NEVER wash or wax in the midday sunlight. I usually wash the car just just before dark or on a cloudy day, dry it, then pull it into the garage to wax. When you wash or wax in the direct sunlight the paint surface gets too hot and the car dries too fast before rinsing & the wax dries before being properly applied. Have fun with your new IS!
  5. My 2007 IS250 has about 11K miles on it. I drive 85% Rural Highway and 15% Small Town traffic. The MPG Computer usually indicates 32 -34 MPG as a Tank Average. I use 93 Octane fuel. Take Care.
  6. Looking for any input or recommendations from IS250 / IS350 owners who have replaced their OEM Bridgestone RE050 tires. I feel these OEM tires are very noisy and would like to get tires that are quiet - or at least quieter than the OEM tires. So what have you IS250 / IS350 owners been buying and how do they Sound & Drive? Thanks!
  7. I find these Guys to be a great internet source for Lexus Parts. Got my XM Satellite Tuner & Fit Kit for $215. Lexus of Pembroke Pines 16150 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL 33027 1-888-373-4470 http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...amp;catalogid=0 :)
  8. Regarding the Low Roof Line - Ceiling Height, I am also 6' and found that by lowering the seat all the way down I eliminated the issues you mention. These seems obvious, yet took acouple of tries adjusting the seat to get things just perfect. I no longer have any issue with the ceiling height. I also looked at the BMW's before purchasing the IS. I always try to test drive a used model that is 3 to 4 years old (when available) to see what the car will be like when used. I found the used (2004) BWM 328 to be somewhat noisy. It did not have the "soild feel" anymore, road bumps were no longer soft "thuds", but loud "clunks". This might be the trade off between Lexus trying the blend handling and ride comfort, with BMW concentrating on handling. Most of my driving is highway so I mainly let the transmission do the shifting. In the end it was the high cost of the BMW's that killed them for me. I just did not see the value when comparied to the Lexus. Just my opinion... Have fun with whatever you decide! :D
  9. Has anyone used the "Insta Finish Paint Sealant" (see link below)? Or a product called " 5 Star Shine" Are they basically the same Telfon Paint Sealant? I tried the 5 Star Shine and it worked very well (so far), yet it costs $50 for a small bottle that is good for one application for an average size car. The Insta Finish Paint Sealant seems to be very similar to the 5 Star Shine product from what little information the manufacturers provide. Just looking to see if anyone has some experience with either of these products. Thanks. Link to "Insta Finish Paint Sealant" from P&B Manufacturing: http://www.pandbmanufacturing.com/product1...oduct_info.html :)
  10. If you all think Georgia is a good deal on auto Sales Tax, take a look at South Carolina. The sales tax on any new car is $300 MAXIMUM. Yes, you read this correct.... $300 max! So I paid only $300 on my new 2007 IS250. Sweet!! :D
  11. Here it is with the 3M Clear Paint Protection Film. I went with the Extended Kit for the Hood, Fenders & Mirrors and the Bumper Kit. Total installed cost was $599. From a few feet away you can not see the film, yet it is visable if you get right up on it. In this picture you can barely see the line where the film ends on the Fender. I am generally pleased with the results. Now lets see how it lasts over the next five years. Thanks for everyone's help & input!! :)
  12. What would you recommend for cleaning the Hand Oils, Dirt, etc. off a leather steering wheel, without damaging the leather on the wheel? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
  13. Many thanks for the advise. I have located a certified installer from XPEL in my area. The Hood, Fenders, & Mirrors will cost $230. Adding the Front Bumper, which is very complex, will add another $330. All warranted for 5 years (Material & Labor) :D . So I think I will do the whole front for $560. Seems like a lot of $$, yet I will probably be glad I did it after a few years and 100K miles. Thanks again for your comments and advise.
  14. Thanks for the info.... Do you recommend placing the film on the front bumper? The dealer I spoke with quoted only the Hood, Front fenders, & back of Sideview Mirrors. He said they can do the front bumper, yet do not usually cover it because it is plastic and provides a softer substrate than metal for the paint and thus does not chip as much when hit by stones, etc. I would think the bumper would be the most vunerable location..?? Thanks again for your experience.
  15. I am looking for feedback or comments from anyone who has experience with or used 3M Paint Protection Film on the front of their car. 3M's website states: "Scotchgard Paint Protection Film maintains the beauty and integrity of automotive finishes on vulnerable exterior painted surfaces such as leading hood edges, fender end caps and rocker panels. This rugged urethane film helps protect against stone chips, bug damage, abrasion and weathering. Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is transparent and nearly invisible, and it does not alter vehicle appearance." Is this stuff really needed to avoid stone chips, etc on the front bumper, hood, etc, as I have read that some IS250/350 owners are having front chipping problems already? Any recommendations for an experienced installer in the Greenville SC area? 3m Website; http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_U...r/Product_Info/ Thanks.

  17. I would like to enter my work Phone Mail Number - Extension - Passcode, into the Telephone book, so it dials the base number, pauses, dials my extension, pauses then dials the passcode. I have this done on my Cell Phone, yet the Phonebook in my IS250 does not recognize the "Pause" and limits the number of digits I can enter. I can not locate and info in the Owners or NAV manual on how many digits the Phonebook will accept for a single entry. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get more information? Thanks.
  18. I use a Nokia 6102i and do not have any Bluetooth connection issues. Works great & sounds great with my 2007 Lexus IS250.
  19. Just ordered a 2007 IS250, Sticker was $35,700. Lexus of Greenville (SC) took $2000 off. There was a purchase or paperwork fees of $297, sales tax at $300 and Title/registration at $65. So out the door was $34,362. :D
