  1. Hello, Just to the left and below the steering wheel is the switch module that includes the side view mirror switch and some other controls; also it is right above the coin drawer. I'd like to remove and replace it, but I don't know how to do that. Has anyone done that or have any illustrations as to how that can be accomplished? It doesn't just pull straight out. Thanks, Hank
  2. Greeting, Even though I very seldom see any postings for the LS600hL, I thought I'd try and see if this is a generic hybrid issue. At times, (and it doesn't seem to matter the level of charge of the traction battery) the acceleration of the car will have a definite pulsing feel as it accelerates. It seems to be worse when the acceleration is gentle versus more aggressive. Has anyone else had some thing like this? By the way, the car is 2008 with 80,000 miles on it. I've had it since it had 6,000 miles and the condition is more obvious now than it was earlier. Thanks, Hank
  3. Just did the jmcraney fix on my 2008 LS600hL and that quieted things quite a bit. After reinstalling the cosmetic trim, I didn't like the way it looked, so I ran a small bead of black silicone around the trim and chrome piece (used black to match my car). Not only does it look better, but that even quieted some more! Now it is as quiet as I expected it to be. Great fix by Jim, and I recommend the added touch of a small bead around the trim. Cheers, Hank
  4. I drive it pretty normal, not hard turns, fast starts nor stops. Pretty calm.
  5. I've seen that for the OEM tires with low tire wear ratings. The issue is that I switched to the Michelins with 500 TW and a 45,000 wear warranty. Sure Michelin gives me a discount for replacements, but it is still annoying. As another point of reference, my LS430 had the same comment, and that did occur on the OEM tires, as soon as I switched to Michelins I was getting over 50,000 miles per set. It almost seems like an alignment issue, but I do have that checked. My sense it that it might be occurring on the rear tires due to the extra weight of the battery.
  6. I have the same condition after switching from my 2004 LS430 to my 2008 LS600hL. I was told that it is a security feature so that the door doesn't open too soon and allow the bad guys to beat you to the inside of your garage. I've just adapted to it, and now its not so bad. Cheers, Hank
  7. Hello, This is the second straight set of Pilot Sport A/S Pluses that lasted only about 20,000 miles, even the tires are 500 tire wear rated and warranted for 45,000 miles. I got a 35% discount on the most recent set due to their short life. Some other details are that I have the tires rotated every 5,000 miles and keep the alignment in check (by the dealer), I keep the pressure at 40 psi in the front and 44 in the rear (keep in mind that this is a 600hl and is supposed to be about 4 psi higher in the rear). The tires are wearing on the edges, not the center. Seems like low pressure, but 40+ seems fine. (the spec is 36 front and 38 rear cold). Oh, they are stand size tires, 245/45/ 19" stock rims. Since it is, alas, time for tires again, any ideas? Thanks, Hank
  8. Thanks Jim, It's by watching my pennies, I can afford my toys. I'll check them out. Cheers!! Hank
  9. Greetings, I went to replace my cabin air filter and discovered that the price can vary from $70 (dealer) to $12.45 (Remart). It is hard for me to expect that both of are the same quality. So this leaves me with the quest to find OEM quality or better filters, what suggestions and experiences have y'all? Thanks, Hank
  10. Mine has been fine. It is also warranted for 100,000 miles.
  11. Have you had the recall done yet? I understand that they will send you the stuff after confirmation of the service.
  12. How difficult was the PS system to install? I'd like to do one for my LS600. Cheers, Hank Did it require any special tools or any issues with the dask? I'd like to have one but the installation worries me. Thanks again, Hank
  13. How difficult was the PS system to install? I'd like to do one for my LS600. Cheers, Hank
  14. Mine has a little button that releases the tray when pushed gently. It also lights up at night with the lights on. The tray just glides out. Hank
  15. I found it on page 524 in my manual (LS600hL), in the "Do it yourself" section, under the Oil Maintenance. Cheers, Hank
  16. Never mind, I've got it now. I found it on page 524 in my manual, in the "Do it yourself" section, under the Oil Maintenance.
  17. It seems that I've forgotten the the sequence of things to do to reset the the "change oil now" announcement in my dash display. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers and thanks, Hank

  19. OK. over the weekend i took several measurements and found that the front rises about 1 1/4" and the rear about 1/4" when the Height High button is activated. I beleive that this is waaaay to little, but does anyone else have any data or specs on this? cheers, Hank
  20. Hello, When the 'height' setting on the suspension is activated, how much higher should the front and rear go up? What is the best way to measure, can I measure from the wheel openings to the floor (I know the front opening to the floor is different that the rear). I'm looking for a way to confirm that it is working as it should. Thanks, Hank
