  1. Open the tailgate, on the inside edge of the tail light assembly you will notice two black caps (about an inch in diameter), pop them off with screwdriver. Under the caps are two screws, remove them and assemble will pull out enough to get at the bulb sockets. You can get the bulb at most auto parts stores.
  2. Got one off ebay, painted to match vehicle color code, not much trouble to install, I recal about $200.00.
  3. Agree about roof rack. I only have it on when I need to attach ski rack. Adding the rear spoiler did make a substantil (good) change in appearance.
  4. I picked up a set on ebay a couple of years ago for my RX. Make sure they have the hardware to attach to the rails. About $100.
  5. Apparently we know absolutely nothing about aftermarket Nav installation though I have pondered the same question. I wonder if one of the hand held models might not be the best option.
  6. I havd used synthetic in evey vehicle I have had for years without problems other than costing a little more.
  7. I got a set on ebay a few years ago for about $100.
  8. I have 18s with M&S Toyos, 8” wide on my RX300. Needed 3/4 “ spacers all around. On full lock to the left I sometimes will get tire rub. They run stiffer and nosier than stock but have performed excellent for my needs in two years of skiing with the vehicle.
  9. With tailgate up, there are two small caps to pry off which allow access to two screws on lens housing. Remove screws, housing comes off, twist off socket to replace bulb. Reverse steps to close up.
  10. FAQ from the other forum. "How do I know what is my RX 300 paint color code? Open the driver's door and look in the door sill. There is a white sticker with the information"
  11. I had same problem on my 99 and put new batteries in the keys to solve the problem. Purchased 2 batteries for about $7 at Longs.
  12. Same thing on my 99. Real scary the first time it happened. Just crack open another window so the dog stays happy. I have a chocolate lab also.
  13. SW0ES, Thank you. Had same problem with both keys ('99 RX300, 52k miles). Installed two new batteries today from Longs Drugstore for $6.13. Both keys work fine now.
  14. Check the thread below re AWD scam.
  15. There are several products available to put on nuts to keep them from coming loose. Try any auto supply store.
  16. On a 99 it is held on by double sided tape.
  17. Try a Search, there was a detailed post on this issue either on this forum or ClubLexus within the last few months.
  18. I have driven a lot in the snow at Tahoe in my rx300 awd for the last two years with no problems. Never saw an awd with chains. I have 18"rims with m+s Toyos. A lot better than my old 4x4 Chev Blazer with m+s on stock rims.
  19. Can not give you exact reference, but the list exists. I used it when I bought a used 99 last year. My gut feeling is that was linked to the official Lexus site. Good Luck.
  20. Yep, had same problem w/ same year. Got new battery, all is well.
  21. My 99 had a cracked exhaust manifold that was found by dealer at 35K service and was fixed under warranty. I bought the car last year with 25K miles because I wanted some warranty left. Great suv and gd service at Lexus though pricey. I got it for skiing, worked great in snow.
  22. Been lurking for some time, first post. Noticed the several references to exhaust proplems. Had my 99 in for 35K service a few months ago, dealer found exhaust manifold crack and replaced it under warranty.
