  1. Great color choice, I have the same color, ash blue. If you look at the dimension between the GX and the RX, its really not that much difference. I believe the they are the same width and the GX is a few inches longer, the GX just looks big because its so tall. As you will find out, the GX does not drive big at all.
  2. Thats a common problem in all new cars, just crack the front window to compensate.
  3. Go sit in both cars, I dont care what the dimension saids, the GX's front seats are more comfortable. The back seat and cargo is about the same. While both SUV have similar HP, they accelarate differently. The torque on that big V8 pulls you off the line smoothly with a nice V8 note, while the RX sounds like it laboring. If you look at the dimension of both SUV, you will see that the GX is only 1.4 wider and 2 inches longer. The GX just looks much bigger because its taller.
  4. Adjustable suspension and the self leveling rear air suspension is standard on all GX with or with KDSS.
  5. I like the GX's aggressive design, otherwise it would be just another RX.
  6. Sounds like Lexus is taking a chance with the new GX off the line, hoping they dont have to change every drive shalf.
  7. I remember seeing the price somewhere, it was about $1200 just in parts. Add on another 2 to 3 hours for labor, you are looking at about $1500 for the TSB.
  8. Any body shop that the Lexus dealer use are usually pretty good, but if one body shop gives you a hard time, I would try to find another Lexus certify body shop. Sometimes the smaller body shop will do a very good job too. I usually look around for a body shop that does high end car such as MB, Rovers or BMWs. Good Luck
  9. If the insurance company cover the cost of the Lexus body shop, I would just leave it there. If you have to pay out of your own pocket to cover some of the cost, I would shop around, Toyota body shop is a good option.
  10. I would suggest a test drive of the GX, there is more than the ride quality when you move up to the GX.
  11. Blending the paint just means they will try to get a exact match with your model year and factory paint batch.
  12. You mentioned that you been driving the 4runner for 6 years, so you drive the 2nd generation 4runner? The ride between a GX and a 2nd generation 4runner sports is like night and day.
  13. I believe all 4runner Sport Edition comes with the XRES. I test drove one of those a year ago, unlike KDSS, the ride is rougher. You will find the ride in the GX much softer than the Sport Edition. The GX is much quieter and more comfortable. Of course the soft ride on the GX means that it will not handle as well as the Sport Edition, unless you get the KDSS. Not sure if care about handling at all.
  14. What trim of 4runner are you driving now?
  15. There is a TSB for the clunking driveshaft problems out already, not sure if the TSB is applied to your 07. The humming drone at 70 mph problem occurs in a very very small percentage of the GX, you should be fine.
  16. Only if your HID Upgrade kit cause the defect.
  17. The only other wood color is the black Birds Eye maple which comes with the sport package.
  18. You can call it a characteristic or call it a design flaw, either way, its not a safety issue so there is no way they will buy back your car in arbitration. I agree this should not happen in a $50K car, but at least Lexus is trying to fix the problem unlike other auto manufacturers. I must agree with stinky pete, the cluck was not that bad. I guess some people have it worst than other. Maybe yours is really bad. Anyhow, almost 100% of people who had this lastest TSB done have not had the cluck since. As far as I know the 07 should have the latest TSB in it, I am wondering how well inform is your Lexus dealer. This TSB is the real deal, get it fix and you can complain here afterward if the cluck comes back.
  19. Here is a post I found on another forum: it's actually pretty easy. 1. remove the armrest pad on the panel by pulling it upwards 2. remove the gold philips screws where the armrest pad was 3. remove the pop clip near the tweeter, by pressing in the center. that will make the clip release 4. remove the triangle plastic piece that covers the side view mirror by pulling it from the top towards you 5. pull on the inside door handle and pry the plastic piece behind it (use a small flat head screw driver and be careful) 6. remove the black screw behind it 7. find the slot at the bottom of the panel and stick your fingers in there to pry it towards you. you have to pull hard and don't worry if the clips fall. you just reinsert them in their place 8. lift upwards once all the clips have released to remove the panel from the door itself 9. USE CAUTION! don't pull the panel out too far from the door! you have to unclip all the wiring. 10. if your car was like mine. the rattling came from the "wood". to remove the "wood" you need to remove the 2 screws that hold the seat memory switchand the silver screws that hold it in.(don't forget about the one by the door handle, it's hidden under the foam. 11. oops forgot one. remove the power window switches by using something stiff and thin and pry it upwards. then unclip the wiring from the switch and remove the screws behind where the switch was.
  20. My feeling is that if you need to use the 3rd seat all the time, you probably need a bigger truck like the LX or a minivan. My son use to like to enter from the rear to the 3rd row seat. After a while, the novelty wear off, now he complains everytime he has to seat back there.
  21. I think you just point the remote at the doom light and turn it on and listen to music on the headphone.
  22. Lexus is suppose to check the height when they perform this TSB. The height can cause the vehicle to clunk due to the diff. in the driveshaft angle. Maybe your height was off and they adjusted it you. On the safe side, I would adjust your rear height to make sure it still works.
  23. You are so right, one salesman I talk to insisted that the GX had HID. Most people I talk to thinks the GX has HID because of the projector lens. On the other hand, one can install an after market HID for about 300 to 400 dollars. The OEM projector lens works very well with HID headlights.
  24. No HID from the factory on the 04 or any other year. The GX comes standard with projection lense and halagen bulbs.
  25. Here is a good site for MTEC and PIAA LED bulbs. http://www.automotivelightingusa.com/index...amp;cPath=29_38
