  1. I have a 2006 Rx400h with 31K miles with a CVT as well as a 2007 GS 350 with a 6 speed tranny. The CVT is very smooth with even power without the lapses or surges of a regular tranny. I would be better to compare two RXs but I love the 400h smoothness and power. I still get 26-28 mpg with spirited driving on the Rx. I get only 20-21 mpg on the GS.
  2. you will only get the DVD player if you have the Mark Levingston Audio system.
  3. What brand of tires do you have on your GS? My 2007 GS 350 has Yoko A10 and I lose traction all the time. I think it is too much power for the tires. I will probably upgrade on tires. For now, if you don't want traction control, you can turn it off temporarily (until 30 mph or so) with the button to the right of the ECT mode switch. A yellow light will go on near the left blinker on your dash.
  4. I got my 400h on May 2, 2005. I now have 12000+ miles on it. I love and would buy another in a heart beat. The ML system is worth the money. My 400h is fully loaded except for the Rear entertainment system. I have an 2000 ES 300 without ML and it can totally tell the difference. The sound is clear, vibrant and surrounds you. I get 28-29 mpg on regular unleaded gas. I try to coast when I can and not accelerate too fast from stop. no problems with it at all. Driven in heavy rain but not snow. highly recommended.
  5. I have noticed that my the heated seats reduce gas mileage by about 1 mpg, just a guess though. haven't tried it on then off etc... yet.
  6. Just an offtopic question. How can I reset the MPG after every gas fill without resetting the lifetime MPG average? Is it possible? Thanks don't think this is possible.
  7. I am planning to do the same with my 400h over xmas. probably will go with Mobil 1. In Vegas, it has been in the low 40-50s, and my MPG has decreased also. The culprits may be longer engine warmup and maybe due to using the heated seat?? Don't really know that synthetic oil will increase gas mileage but they don't form carbon deposit. They also protect your engine from wear. I know that the majority if not all exotic sport cars use synthetic oil due to the protection it gives during high engine stress.
  8. I believe the BMWs have an IPOD interface. don't know if it is the snap in type or what. Just heard that it was available.
  9. My wife has noticed that using the seat warmer also reduces mileage by about 1 mpg.
  10. lexus411 is right about the procedure but you don't have to hold the trip/odometer button in until u turn it to the "on" position
  11. From the lexus anouncement at the New York Auto Show 2005 in March, they said it should have "significantly more than 300 hp", world's first rear drive hybrid, MSRP expect around $55000, arriving next spring (2007). I haven't heard anything since the announcement, though. Well, the GS430 goes from 0-60 in 5.7sec, so I am expect the GS450h should be in low 5 secs. I am speculating, of course. I can hardly wait for the real specs. I have the Rx400h (5000 miles on it) and LOVE it. 27 mpg mixed driving in a SUV without sacrifices (all luxury). Love the continuous variable transmission - super smooth, continuous power. I hope the GS450h also has it.
  12. Just got my 5000 mile service yesterday. No problems. Had my car since May 1 and my AC is only all the time (90 F in May, 100 F in June, 110 F in July, 100-105 F in August), so far, AC works perfectly. MPG is excellent for running the AC all the time - 27.5 mpg (mixed 70 % city).
  13. I went to my dealer in Las Vegas to test drive it in late April. Put a deposit down on April 30, dealer called next day saying that someone backed out. So I bought it, I guess you could say my wait was 1 day. LOL - had everything I want except for rear entertainment system. An aftermarket with DVD changer/MP3 and dual headrest monitors are set for the near future.
  14. I used it yesterday and I can say without reservation that it cools very well! ← My AC is on all the time at this point. We had a heat wave in Vegas last week with temps in 117s (my gauge actually read 120 for those days). No problems keeping cool in that heat. Awesome system. Fan adjust automatically to your settings. Within two minutes, I have to turn up the temp to not freeze. 4000 miles on odometer
  15. I have gone on a 300 mile trip from sea level (LA) to 2000 feet (Vegas) and back with average of 28 mpg. That was at 800 miles on odometer, now at 4000+ with same average mpg.
