  1. The bird symbolized bird !Removed! that I often clean off my windshield. Nothing like good old parking under a tree. Since, car washing for me is like an EVENT!!! lol, I rely on rain to take care of the problem, with my luck everytime I do wash it, it rains the next day. :)
  2. Well the issue is gas. I dont understand, is your dad buying it for you or for him. Is he buying the car in general so both of you can use it? But If it was you buying, I wouldn't hesitate. I would get the 98 LS.
  3. No problem. You might wanna refresh my reply again. I edited a little. :)
  4. You came to the right place. I suggest you to definitely get the Lexus. I know NY has been through a lot, and everything is expensive here...but safety comes first. I understand your situation and I think the Lexus SUV LX series especially is built not only strong but also smooth and luxurious. American cars will of course save you gas, but I guarantee you, they dont offer you what Lexus does. If you have more info on the car : mileage, pictures, past history and the price range, dont be afraid to share it with us. This is the information I found to be most useful for the LX450 1996-1997 Fuel Type Regular MPG (city) 13 MPG (highway) 15 MPG (combined) 14 CONS The LX450 is missing some of the creature comforts available on most modern SUV's. Although it was an option, most of them don't come with heated seats. They don't have the modern navigation systems. They don't have a compass or outside temperature reading. In addition, it only comes with one cupholder.....very odd. There is a slot over the radio where an additional cup holder can be added and you will need it. The cupholder can be purchased from www.sleeoffroad.com (no affiliation, etc.). The LX450's motor is a little underpowered by current standards. 212hp and 275 ft/lbs or torque is what you get from this 4.5 liter straight six. It's not bad, but certainly less than most of its modern competition. PROS This thing is built like a tank. It will require more standard maintenance than most, but if it is well taken care of, Toyota/Lexus designed the vehicle to go for 300,000 miles before needing major work/overhauls. You'll feel like this is the most dependable thing you've driven. If you actually take your SUV off road, you will not be disappointed with the LX450. It is more capable than probably 90% of other SUV's in its class. If it comes with factory lockers, that probably goes to 98%. Nick
  5. 20 grand would be icing on the cake. But however 20.000 miles on the car is brand new for a Lexus. My car is 195.000 Miles and people think it has about 50.000 on it. You definitely got a good deal. Congratulations and post pics if you like.
  6. I've been noticing recently that on my speedometer it says TRAC right in the middle. Also the Tracking and overdrive in my car is always OFF. But recently tracking off sign keeps on dissapearing, so it has to be on...because when i press the button it turns off again. I never really understood what advantages Tracking has or what it really does, can anyone clarify this. Thanks.
  7. Nice pics. The red car is a bentley. Look at the front bottom, the symbol is right on the license plate
  8. Excellent posts from all. This is exactly what I wanted to hear from you guys, the comparisons between top luxury cars and what is competition out there. What has its advantages and disadvantages. Another plus in near future for me. Thanks for the information, you guys are the best. :)
  9. Great responses guys. Lexus it is. :) Page 3 is mine. :P
  10. Great news. Post pictures ASAP. Congratulations again, sounds like a great deal. The gas prices are up but hey what the hell, fill her up and ride her alllllll day. :)
  11. Just want some inputs on what you guys are going to be doing in the future as far as purchasing something "different or better" for yourself. Because quite frankly, we all want to buy something that we can stick with for a long time. No more trades, rip off deals, technical problems etc... So who is here already saving up, planning, looking into the car which is gonna be yours for a long time and money well spent, no regrets. Personally as I stated in other threads, The LS 400 series gave a lot of people here a joy ride and nothing but positivity out of it. My next big thing is going to be LS 430, Whatever year I am going to buy it, that's the year of the model I am probably going to finance and stick with it. But my time hasn't come yet.
  12. Personally I have never been inside the LS430 models 2000 and up. All I am saying is, if you want to experience something different, then this car will certainly give you that. My next car is going to be a brand new Lexus LS 430 without a doubt.
  13. Rent a BMW 745 li. Your driving experience in that car will never be the same. Simply amazing.
  14. Happy Birthday. I am in love with you- -r car. oops what a typo. :)
  15. Looks great. Also good job on the installation.
  16. Good luck guys, hope you get through this without any major mishaps. Dont worry about the house, just keep the lexus safe. :D
  17. Welcome to the forums buddy. Lexus never fails. :)
  18. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=23407 ^Hope that helps. Althought I have never drove an LS 430, but they are magnificant cars because everyone that I know was satisfied with its luxury, performance and comfort If you dont mind me asking, How much would a montly lease for a car like that cost? Good Luck.
  19. wow 12k? Congratulations and Welcome to the forums. :)
  20. You're certainly right. My experience with this car was nothing but a joy ride. I will be certainly upgrading when the time is right, and keeping this one because I enjoy it just like you or any other person here. Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like you do when nobody's watching. ^ Great quote, I'll remix it a little. Work like you don't need money but spend all your money on the Lexus, Love the Lexus like your girl, and tango with your car so others can turn heads and applaud. :)
  21. Very impressive. I am definitely liking the new generation SUV. I think its called the HPX, I dont know about the release date. Does anyone have any other sources on this? Release date, performance, etc. Cheers
  22. Definitely burns few miles, My AC is always on and I started noticing the difference not too long ago. Your right V8 is V8 but we gotta love it. :)
  23. Damn your car looks 10x better. From what I see you got tints, new rims, new tires, new clear low head lights. Am I correct? Looks beautiful. :)
