I was under the impression that Synthetic oil is Factory standard -
I also use the downshift method Never had a worry about the tranny. I also have a tranny cooler installed

It just makes sense to replace everything associated with the timing belt change How would you like the water pump to fail in a month and have to Pay/perform the labor twice ?

Welcome to the club Does the car start ? Clean the battery terminals so they look new, Clean the battery cable clamps also, Reconnect tight and go from there.

Welcome to the club I would also suggest doing a couple of drain and fills on the tranny, Driving a couple hundred miles between D&F's.
