  1. Paul said, "I have mentioned before when I got my 2013 ES that I had to special order it from the factory to get the leather interior. I forget how much more that was." Gosh, I've got the leather interior on my 2013 ES (and yes, it cost more), but I didn't have to special order the car. I guess I got lucky. The dealer was trying to talk me into taking a silver, white, or grey car, but I wanted the Fire Agate Pearl with the "parchment" leather interior. He checked their incoming stock and found out that what I wanted was due to arrive at the port in Los Angeles a day or so later, so he put my name on it, and that's what I got. I've not examined the dash closely enough to know whether or not the stitching or the material is "real," but it sure looks like it to me. I'll try to remember to take a closer look tomorrow when I get into it again.
  2. So.... what happened? Did you get the issue resolved?
  3. I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with AT&T as the carrier. Drives me nuts that the Lexus site's documentation for mobile phone compatibility says that my model/carrier "has not been tested yet." Yet? This model phone is several years old! My contacts sync to the car; the pictures for my contacts show up when I call them or when they call me; and incoming/outgoing calls are reflected in the call log on the phone after I leave the car. Has anyone else noticed in the Lexus mobile compatibility document that just about the only phone it shows that works with the Lexus Enform apps are Apple iPhones? Sheesh.
  4. No, you shouldn't have the headrest all the way forward so that the back of your head is up against the headrest when you're driving. There should be a small space in between the back of your head and the headrest. You just don't want your head to have to go too far back before being stopped if someone rear-ends your car. The point of the headrest is to avoid a whiplash injury.
  5. Aside from the fact that I don't understand why you gave him all of your keys when you loaned him the car, I'm wondering how he managed to lose all of them! I think you and your friend are just going to have to face the fact that your friend is going to have to ante up the money to program your new key(s). Bummer.
  6. I'm driving a new 2013 ES 350 and I've been able to adjust the driver's seat so that it's very comfortable. However, after my settings had been "set to" my key fob, I did make one more adjustment. I saved it to the "Driver 1" button on the door, and although I have attempted many times to save those settings to the fob, it doesn't seem to "take." I get in the car, buckle my seat belt, start the car, and then have to press the "Driver 1" button on the door to get that final adjustment. And, yes, I've done what the manual says -- hold the "Driver 1" button and press the lock/unlock button at the same time until it beeps. While it's not a major inconvenience to have to press the "Driver 1" button each time I get in the car, it would be a whole lot nicer if it was done automatically.
  7. I don't really have an answer - just my humble guess... But, that guess is that the (gas powered) car isn't expected to ever get over 40 mpg, so why bother with a graph that would show higher than that? Unless you coast down a lot of hills, the average of the downhill coast and the uphill or level driving would average out to 40 mpg or less. But, that's just a guess on my part. Your opinion may vary. :-)
  8. I'm pretty partial to it. Amazing considering that I've never ever wanted a brown car before! :D
  9. I've never seen the Black Garnet, and I don't think I've ever seen the Truffle Pearl in person, but my new 2013 ES 350 is Fire Agate Pearl and it is beautiful. It's best described as looking like rootbeer. Yes, if it's parked inside where there is little light, it will look almost black, but any light on it at all will reveal the brown, and in sunlight it is totally awesome.
  10. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I've just purchased (well, within the last week) my very first Lexus. It's a 2013 ES 350. Color is Fire Agate Pearl with the perforated parchment leather interior. I guess I have what some of you refer to as "package 3" or the "Luxury" package. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Ultra Luxury package, but I didn't want them. I do have the Remote Engine Starter, which isn't normally included in my package, but I wanted it and am glad I have it. The color of my car is awesome. I love, love, love it. :)
