  1. Price is too high for this USED' RX. Tell them you will go elsewhere unless they take another 1-2K off Also, price a new $56,000 RX and you may be surprised at the deals. They are offering a very low interest rate on finance and lease. Good luck
  2. Did the 30k service. Agree it was worth it. They found the rotors needed to be recalibrated and alignment needed. Would have cost me more to buy new tires as outer lining was getting worn. They covered it all under warranty. Great service and definitely well worth it.
  3. I will be bringing 2015 rx350 in for 30k service. They told me the cost is $495. It includes replacing all filters, checking fluids, oil change, rotation and some other peripherals. Question, is it worth it, or do many of you just change oil and rotate tires. Thanks, David
  4. I have heard it termed the 'small square pad next to the shifter' It allows access to the 'shift interlock system.
  5. On 1/16, purchased CPO 2015 RX350 with 15k miles, white with all amenities, 19" wheels and tow package. This was also a loaner vehicle from Lexus of Bridgewater in NJ. Paid $38,900. At the time, with 2016 on the way, Lexus offered 0.9% APR for 60 months. I think the price is way too high. There is more than 2K profit and may be more if they are acquiring loaner vehicles. Is there a trade-in and are they playing the numbers? Offer them $41,000 and let them know you have a better offer elsewhere. Pick a dealer name so it sounds as 'honest' as they are...No matter what you do, this is the best vehicle, bar none, you can own. Agree with others that 2016 takes some getting used to and glad we got the 2015. Good luck. David .
  6. On 2015 RX, with NAV, I have it setup to receive Text Messages. Works great as it reads incoming text messages. BUT, It does not always display. There is no rhyme or reason, just intermittent. Iphone IOS version 9.2. Will assume it is a software issue on Lexus or IOS. Interested to hear if others have same experience or resolution? Thanks in advance, David
  7. On 2015 RX, manual says you can use 87 octane. With price discrepancies between regular and premium, why use anything else? Would like to hear from others on this. Interesting that the new NX REQUIRES premium as it is turbo charged. One of many reasons I opted for RX.
  8. Great choice. Assume they were the 19's. I paid $235/tire installed, plus dealer gave me $80 trade-in of Dunlops and $70 Michelin rebate. Make sure you get the rebate from Michelin. Agree night and day difference. Enjoy the ride.
  9. Problem solved. Every tire store rep, including lexus service states Dunlop's are a hard rubber that induces a higher road noise. Michelin's and Bridgestone are better tuned to the type of ride most RX riders want. I purchased Michelin's latest new tire, the Premier LTX. There were limited customer reviews due to it's 2015 release. Read tire blogs and spoke with Tire Rack. They all praised this eco friendly tire. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Paid $214/tire. Currently a $70 rebate. Get rid of the Dunlops and shame on Lexus for putting these tires on. Guess they got a good deal from mfg. Still RX350 is the best on the road and will hold their value.
  10. Agree the Dunlop's are just a harder rubber. I just purchased 2015 CPO RX. Dunlop tires are awful. Had a loaner with Michelin tires and it was sooo quite. Spending another $1k (ugh) to put 4 Michelins Premier LTX.
  11. Thank you everyone for your responses. Yes, my son performs car raps and window tinting as a side line and is quite good. The 35% tint and the information on the rear window was great info. David
  12. My son wants to tint windows on my 07 ES350. Anyone have do's and don't specific to front and back windows? If I let him do it without being involved, it will look like darth vadar! B) B) Thanks, David
  13. yes, that is true. What you are describing includes cloth seats. At a mininun, I would recommend the (base) option package - about $1800. Otherwise any resale value is in the tank.
  14. I believe your problem is mixture of oxygen and fuel. If you are using 92 octane, then my recommendation is to change the sensor. The oxygen sensor is good for about 2 years. Normally, when it reaches an inoperable state, the check engine light will go on and then $250 later from Lexus all is well. I had a similar issue with my '01 GS300. To Lexus service credit, my mileage improved and car has never run better. Hope this works. David
  15. This may be too late for everyone's hard work, but there is now an aftermarket solution for Lexus owners. The details on this site will explain it all. www.vaistech.com David :cries:
  16. I ordered mine from a very reputable provider. Blankenship Aero. They are based out of Dallas. In cases where there is no Lexus Spoler part no., I know they use this company. http://www.blankenshipaero.com/about.html Hendrick Lexus and Flow Lexus, both in NC use them. They will paint it if you provide paint code. They also have franchisee's in areas, so check. Good Luck...David
  17. I re-did my 02 GS grill for less than $25. They are crome slats that fit on the vertical black slats. You cut them and attach with adhesive. It truly changes the look. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33645
  18. Here is a great site to get scale models for Lexus and other cars. http://www.overgoatlantic.com/ I just bought a gs300 for 9.99. Most all colors
  19. There are a number of threads on this subject (some factual and others personal). Take this replay as a little bit of both... 1. Would never, never, never buy a product from Bridgestone/Firestone. They have been in a number of lawsuits and wsere reluctance to recall faulty products all for the bottom line. 2. Stick to V rated. This vehicle is not designed for the softer H rated tire 3. I put Donlop SP5000 tires on my GS at a cost of $85/tire. Is it the best --NO, is it quiet -- YES, will it last more than 20k miles -- NO 4. I put Michelins on my wife's ES300. The only people who do not like Michelins, are those that don't have them on their vehicles. Beyond all the hype, it is the best tire. 5. I saw comments for Falken tires (private company) sold at Sears. I do not believe they may a V rated tire in this size. They do have an H rated. Good luck and let me know your decision.
  20. I acquired fron emblem from ebay. Where most are glue adhesive, front are 2 bolts. Contact this site.. http://stores.ebay.com/HK-PLUS Good luck, David
  21. Hep, same scenario. See the forum message from earlier in week..Have Dunlop 5000's and after rotating, became noticable. Other auto geeks stated it will go away over time and sure enough it has. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=17642 Thanks, David
  22. At a minimum, have Lexus Dealer change or reset your Lexus Personalized Settings. There is a .pdf on lexus site. Here is a quick synopsis. DO NOT pay for this. 23. Lexus recommended me get in touch with this national company. A local rep does all spoiler installs at 2X price, if done at Lexus. I had spoiler on my GS300 part and install for $350. Check them out. Just give them point code on door. Ships in 1-2 days http://www.blankenshipaero.com/about.html Good luck, David
  24. Looking at other tires, I saw this review response on TireRack. Same tires, same impression... Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymmetrical - (Ultra High Performance All-Season) 2002 Lexus GS300 Reviewer's I replaced the 215-60-16 Goodyear Invictas with the 225-55-16 asymmetrical SP Sport 5000. The Dunlops deliver much sharper turn in and better overall handling. However, the tires transmit a lot of road surface texture to the steering wheel, which can easily be mistaken for a balancing problem. The Goodyears do the same thing, but to a greater degree, and they are an inferior tire. If you want the smoothest ride possible, this is not the right tire. Overall I find the tire a good value and appropriate for my driving style, which includes the occasional hard charge on the expressway ramp. --Review submitted: 2002-12-12
