  1. ← I just looked at my 330 in the garage and it looks the same. The picture is a little strange I guess - but I think it's ok. You might just give them a call. The web site is from Carson Toyota in Carson, CA. Call 800-908-6968 or 310-522-2300. They should have a better answer. Let me know what they say. I really like the look of that grill too!!
  2. An '05 ES330 with ~850 miles on it. Nice car. Not too many "extras" on it. Probably a designated loaner car. Just a fancy Toyota I guess.
  3. Try here:http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=736 $299.00 plus shipping. Don't know anything about this vendor. The grill is a Harrier grill with the cool emblem! This is the one that I'd like to see a group buy on! It's really very cool!
  4. I see DRL is a safety feature to let others see you in broad day light. But the more I think of it the less it makes sense. I don't see anyone design a car to turn on sidemarkers and tail lights. Aren't we supposed to alert drivers from behind and both sides as well as in front during day time? ← Many Euro cars (Volvo, Saab, MB) have a rear fog lamp that is basically a bright red bulb facing backward that comes on with the fog lamps. This does a good job of alerting any vehicles following you in the fog.
  5. In other words folks - He modded the bulbs so that the car can have Fogs on without low beams on! I also believe that he has the fogs set up to be his DRLs. (I really like that idea!) Willard you have such a way of saying things!! You crack me up!
  6. That's my thought exactly! In a $35 thousand (something) car, I'm not going to skimp out on the lousy $35.00 oil changes at regular and fairly frequent intervals. That's even with synth oil. It's just not worth it.
  7. Problem with that is you'll p*ss him off so bad that he will probably take a brick or a tire iron to your car and let loose! Loved to see him get sliced up - but would hate to see the RX bashed up all over the place!
  8. Any idea what the ani-theft device is? I'm curious what they have come up with to help stop this.Maybe Lexus (according to the article about Nissan) would have to come up with a deterent method for their owners for free. That'd be nice!
  9. I think you're screwed. Sorry 'bout that. You'll have to go to a dealer and see what they think, but it's probably a new ECU for you.
  10. How many of your "master" keys can start the car? I think that if the key can start the vehicle - it has the correct chip on it that is recognized by your ECU. Are you saying that the only key that can start the car is your valet key?
  11. Well if one of them really is the master - you should be able to program (or have programed) the new key(s). Otherwise it's a new ECU.
  12. I always thought that not having an indicator lamp for fogs on was dumb too.
  13. Willard - you talkin about the RX-300 or the RX-330? I know that you have made mods on your 01 RX-300....so I was just checking. This would be a nice mod to my 04 330. Ever tried it on this model?
  14. Well wheather it's a sales tactic or not - I've watched them thru the shop window, unmount the tires, put them on the balance machine, knock off any weights, spin 'em, re-mount new weights in the correct spot, put them back on the car, inflate them to the correct pressure and send me on my way. The mgr told me that tires do change their balance as tread wear removes rubber. I believe him, cause that does make sense. Besides, I bought the extended warrantee for the tires that gives me protection from ANYTHING happening. If I "step" on a huge nail they will replace it, if I drive over a 2X4 in the road sheading the tire(s), they replace it. The rotate / balancing is "free" as part of this. I really think if they wre gonna skimp any place, they skimp on the balancing, but they don't.
  15. Yeah, but my tire store does rotations for the life of the tires that I purchased - and (more importantly) they rotate and BALANCE the tires each time! Rotating is a pretty easy DIY task, but I'm not going to be able to balance them in my driveway.
  16. Yeah - those look really cool! I wonder if you can change out just the blades after a year (or so). The thought of $90 every year doesn't sound all that good to my (currently Christmas injured) wallet. Make sure you post your comments about how they work out!
  17. Not sure if this is it or not, but you can call your service tech and ask: Service Bulletin Num : 00504 Date of Bulletin: SEP 17, 2004 NHTSA Item Number: 10010149 Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST Summary: BRAKE BOOSTER
  18. The NHTSC site lists 30 TSBs for the 04 RX-330. A lot of them look fairly old and probably only apply to the earlier releases of the car. But they list the recent issues that I've seen mentioned here - like the rear window wiper improvement TSB #00804. Nice info at that site!
  19. 255 75 R16 I love them and they fill the fender well perfect. ← But then your speedo will say - When driving 60 mph your actually speed is 65.6 or 9.4% too slow from actual. That's a pretty big difference. Just watch your speed on hwys!
  20. My neighbor has an '04 RX-330 with rear facing video displays on the headrests. According to her this was not an OEM Lexus system. When I ask where / how she got it, she said it was in the car when she bought it new. (gee thanks that helped!) She has a video game console hooked up to it so that her kids can play vid games on long rides. That was what really sold her on that car in the first place. Must be nice huh?
  21. If the stock tire is 225/70 replaced with 235/70: Speedometer reading will be 1.9% too slow With speedometer reading 60 mph, you're actually travelling 61.2 mph. This does not include any built-in error factoring in the speedo from Lexus.
  22. SON OF A B*TCH!!! That's what happened to my '00 RX-300 key! I argued with the dealer for a very long time about this when it got so bad it had to be replaced!!! I told him - The key works fine, the remote control buttons work fine - I just need the STUPID BLACK PLASITIC COVER for crying out loud!!!$290 and two trips to the dealer later............... CRAP!!! Don't even own that car anymore - but I've still got my busted up master key! Don't lose it, God forbid!! I should frame it in a hall of shame some place. Great find dgorrie. Thanks! Wish I had seen this sooner!
  23. OK - sorry for the delay. In the 2004 RX-330 Owner's Manual on page(s) 613 - 614 "....Adjusting Headlamp Aiming". This shows where the vertical and horizontal screw adjustments are located and a basic description of how to make the adjust of the aim. Now take your car to to your dealer's service tech and walk in with your manual in hand, turned to this page and INSIST they make this minor freekin adjustment!!!! If your IDIOT service tech still can't get it thru his thick skull, then you could just go to a decent auto repair shop (not a Jiffy Lube kinda place mind you...) and tell a mechanic what you are trying to do. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you for probably a very minor fee. Try this and let us know how you make out. Believe me - you will be very very happy with the results of raising the aim! You sound very disappointed about the entire car because of this stupid little adjustment and that's really too bad. Your dealer should be ashamed of themselves!!! Good luck.
