  1. E-mailed a local Toyota dealer Sun. called back Mon. morning and told me they would service my 04 es 330. Very polite, no free loaner, but a lot less money. Going to give them a try next oil change. have a safe new year. Tim
  2. I have a 04 es 330. 89 octane runs the best for me. bp or mobil gas is what i use. thats what i used since the car was new, once in awhile i will put in 87, i do notice a difference when i use 89. anything higher i see no difference. anyone no if marathon gas is any good? i see they put stp additive in there gas. i got a gift card for marathon gas thats why i ask. thanks for any info, have a safe new year. 4. sorry about the mix up on the ls or gs, I did look at a 99 gs 300 great car too.I think the es and gs are close in size, take care. Timothy
  5. Good question, I have a 04 es 330 and love it, I was going to get a LS but choose the ES. I like front wheel drive, its less expesive to repair, If I bought the LS, it would have been older then my new ES at the time. I belive the LS has a better reliability record then the ES. Michigan winters can be bad, thats another reason I went with the ES. Both great cars, take your time, drive both, and have fun while youi make a decision. Have a great holiday! Timothy
  6. tim, does your beeping accompany the yellow light of a car with squiggley lines under it. If so that is the VSC indicator light....it has an audio warning to it too. I think the beeping we are discussing is different. steviej I would have to say that is correct. I have not had this happen since I had new tires installed. sorry the reply took so long. Timothy
  7. hello, i have a 04 es which i get beeps in slippery conditions when i turn. i think its from the traction control, its kinda strange i only get at certain times and hard to pinpoint the cause. i dont think its anything serious, didnt read the whole thread yet, just out the door and read this a little bit . take care timothy
  8. thanks for all the info. I'll check the tire thread, air has been working great all these years, its not a race car or jet, thanks again. Timothy
  9. hello, just wondering about the use of nitrogen in tires. I have a 04 es 330 with Toyo Spectrum touring tires. The car is driven about 2-3 times a week till after next year. garage kept. is it worth it or not? I know these tires don't get good mileage, they have about 600 miles on them. thanks. Timothy
  10. hello, i have a 04 es 330, 30,000 miles, the manual says change brake fluid. had car serviced, oil change, etc. no brake fluid change. brakes are good, should i wait till i get new brakes or get the fluid changed soon? car is great so far. car is serviced at meade lexus of lakeside. mich. good service and prices. get treated really good. thanks. Timothy
  11. thanks for the reply, not out to play race car, just a thought. I wonder if people with all the tranny problems tried this. thanks again. Timothy Sure, the ECM that controls shifting will prevent you from over revving the engine, but by no means was it designed to be used this way as the normal way of driving. It WILL definitely shorten the useful life of the transmission. And yes, I tried every means to make this transmission shift properly.....but it ended up I had to trade in my '03ES for an '07ES to correct this problem. LOL :) good point, not having problems with shifting, I'll let the car do the shifting, your 07 looks great. take care. Timtohy
  12. thanks for the reply, not out to play race car, just a thought. I wonder if people with all the tranny problems tried this. thanks again. Timothy
  13. Hello, Have a 04 es 330. can I shift the car manually, or downshift manually, will this cause any harm? have not tried this yet and didn't check stupid tranny thread. just wondering. thanks, and have a great day! Timothy
  14. I took the wheels off my 4 by 4 truck to clean the inside, ice and crap inside made them way off. balance way off. I'll do that with my 04 es this year, getting new rims from the dealer, had some bad spots on all 4 rims, they looked at them, said thats not good. new rims on order. that was too easy. my dealer, Meade Lexus mi. treats customers great. let you know how things go. Timothy
  15. hello, stopped by my lexus dealer today, i have some spots on rims that didint look right, 04 330, stock rims. small bumbs, not coming through th clear coat, but my dealer looked at them and said thats not good. we'll get you some new rims. took my vin # name, have the platinum extended warranty, car is paid off. 28000 miles. I said is that it? he said yes sorry about the rims, we'll order your new ones. Thats good service. I hope all Lexus dealers are like this. Just wanted to share this. thanks . Timothy
  16. hello 04 es 330 28000 miles, average 22mpg highway about 28 if I drive the speed limit, 100 mph sure feels good at times, better stick to the speed limit, no tickets that way Timothy

  18. hello, I have an 04 es 330, dark blue, been using Meguiars nxt tech wax, doing all by hand, no swirl directions when applying wax or removing, I have a black and decker buffer, old one I think 8 inch dia. no real problem areas on car, whats the best buffer to use? or is doing a good job by hand better? I did some detail body work years ago, mostly grunt work, but learned how to be careful and leave some things to the pros. hope everyone has a good safe holiday, thanks. Timothy
  19. I have a 04 es with 27000 miles, trans seems to shift better now with more miles. Car is only driven a couple times a week, for now, seems to have some jerking at until warmed up. Great car.

  21. wow sorry i got everone so mad. The remark was made to dcfish, and whats this i don't take care of my car? How do know? If its about the thread of my dent in the hood, my ex wife did that. Car is maintained by the book, I just got divorced, dent will get fixed. Divorce is not cheap. timothy
  22. if you would rather have a camry , go buy one, great car. got to a Toyota form, not a Lexus forum. I go to this site to learn how to care for my Lexus es 330. not a camry. If i buy a camry, I'll go to a Camry forum, not a Lexus forum. timothy
  23. a friend of said the es and camery were the same until he rode in my 04 es 330. he said wow! what a difference! no put down to the camry. Toyota builds great cars. timothy
  24. chips are small some the size of an eraser, maybe 1/8" dia. can't post pictures at this time, I know its hard to say without seeing the hood, used to do some body work, its been a while, chips are stone chips if that helps. about 6 or 7 chips and the dent. thans for your help. timothy
  25. hello, I have a es 330 04 dark blue with a hood that needs repainting. small dent and some chips. one shop says fix dent touch up spots, not a total repaint of the hood. the other says complete paint on the hood. that qoute about 200.00 cheaper than the touch up. both do great work. I think the total repaint is the way to go. what do you think? thanks timothy
