The rear windshileds angle and the age fo the rear deforsters made this particular panel extremely difficult we had to do it twice, and it may still have to be redone yet a 3rd time. (the woman getting in the car is Butch's wife and his helper is the one doingt he cutting...he had to run an errand so he couldnt start, but he did help finish) ^ryan is fiddling with the tint, not likeing the way it turned out that time...sooo... REDO!!! they had the computer cut it to shape autmatically, it came out of the cuter pre scored so the lines are perfect, all they did was pull the excess off and heatshrink it to the rear glass, to shape it. do...deee...doo...dee...doo ^ i went around front and snapped a pic while they on the other side finishing up a vinly for that white van. Thats Butch in the bacground in the red shirt :) back glass, almost done! Butch is actually inside the car right now, sqeegeeing the rest of the bubbles out...but you cant tell he is in there...that tint is DARK. ^And the bubbles are out, but Butch isnt...hes taking a break...this car wore him out! :

OK here we go: Before tint (excuse the spare, nearly had a blowout earlier, tires are on the way!) next up, the tinting process.

Im going to try to use this sites gallery, btu the pix are big and i cant resize, so bear with me...
-
i would drain some out...about a half an inch is ok, but much more than that, you are asking for trouble.

For those of you that were wondering when i was going to have window tint put on, well, tonight was the night. After my last trip to JP Importz, I had a few dollars left over so I headed over to see my old friend Butch Rawlins at Sunray Custom Tint and Graphics. He cut me a hell of a deal, one i could not turn down. He has tinted many cars for me in the past, so this one was no different. He decided he could take a hit and eat some of the cost since I have been so good for business. EDIT: and wouldnt you know it, my hoster is down, ill have pix up soon...

i took care of it. LOL. i posted that yesterday... :D

i hate you :P I am the resident ES250 guy, i probably know more about this car than most here. (dont mean to sound arrogant, but i have had this car apart on more than one occasion :) ) 1. Yes, but use premuim once or twice a month if you can. 2. I just changed my belt at 143k: as you can see it was still nearly perfect and that was when it was dropping a half a quart of oil a day. i should see no problems going to 100K. Make sure you CHANGE YOUR PCV VALVE! these cars are EXTREMELY prone to leaks. the valve covers, rear main seal and camshaft/crankshaft seals all go if you dont change the valve. do it, it will cost like $4. cheap insurance. when you do have the timing belt done, have the camshaft and crankshaft seals done as well. My car never had that done and the PCV vave was never changed either, now, $1800 later, i am leak free. CHANGE THE TRANS FLUID...dont neglect this. every 20K if it is still red it doesnt matter. dont wait for it to turn black, it iwll be too late. congrats, if your car is a 1991, you have one of 15,000 made. if your car is a 1990, you have one of 10,000 made. either way its a rare car. mine is # 14 ever to roll off the assembly line, and its currently undergoing a restoration Check out the thread titled "the legacy of armyofone's ES250" in the general discussion to find out more about what waswrong with mine. and what could go wrong with yours if not maintianed.

yeah, but the state government holds their hand out when the oil co. pays you, they need that money to finance thier public schools. :D oh BTW this is an official LOC threadjack...in case you didnt notice. blake and i are extremely bored and corresponding via the forums while on the telephone but dont worry, the minutes are free. thanks to VZW and their goofball CDMA network that drops numerous calls for the price of one... GSM is better! :P The whole world will be there in a few years anyways! and synthetic oil is better too! im sorry where were we?? ← I'm afraid all of the oil in the swamp wouldn't help our public school system! lol That's why I went to private schools! lol Denny, you should have put Lojack on this thread, so law enforcement could know where we are going with this. lmao (excuse the lame joke; it's getting late.) VZW, 9 dropped calls in one day "most reliable network" my a$$. :chairshot: I do need to switch to GSM...the worst part about it will be buying a Motorola phone. :o :o Who buys these things, really? lol Even better, who would work at a place like that? j/k ← i dunno, thats where my parole officer put me after my nickel at chino for Grand Theft Auto...look outside, your lexus is gone... :D

OK Army......I'm going to commission you to build me a Lexus. Let me know when you're ready to start. ← yeah sure, let me get my !Removed! up and right on that LOL. should i pull the parts out of my !Removed! too? or do they have to be new? ;) :D

NOT a fiar price for all of those issues, run away. the valve cover leak signifies a not very well maintained car. i havent heard fo very many of these going on the SC, espeically with regular PCV valve changes. the missing VIN tag signifies the fender has been replaced. the power steering is EXPENSIVE to repair. a pump could run you as muich as $400 or more and the lines...well, you dont want to go there. then the labor is a PITA on llines not sure about the pump thoughh. count on $600 for redoing the leather seats. but for god sake LOOK AT THE AUTO TRANNY FLUID BEFORE BUYING, if it is not red, do not buy. i made that mistake and i will have to pay dearly for it someday. my ES's tranny has suffered severely because of this. if you cant get him down to >$8,000, run, dont walk, away

Cluster Light Help Needed - Jim Walker, Dcfish ?
ArmyofOne replied to branshew's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
unfortunately, if you have driven the car at all, your mileage on your odometer will never be accurate again. other than that, i cant be of much help...sorry :( well, actually, i do think the reason why they go out is because the LED's are rated for 12 volts and the alternator puts out 14...i read that somewhereon here about an hour ago... -
no i mean do they cost anwyehere near 40K to make them? surely not...i mean they are made well with top quailty materials...but damn... i could build one for half that i should think...how much of that 40K is lexus profit?
-
im just glad it didnt fly apart while i was going stupid fast...*cough* triple digit speeds *cough*

Falken Ziex ZE512's are what i and many other people on this forum would reccomend. what kin fo car are you putting them on? www.discounttiredirect.com
-
then you have dealer markup which is usually 4-5K...gawd...do these cars really cost anywhere near that to make?
-
yeah, well alot of that has to do with the fact that you were driving/live in BFE (Bum !Removed! Egypt) LOL (inside joke) 3rd bayou past the border...LMAO!
