  1. it's very typical for dealers and car companies to sell you larger assemblies rather then little $3 parts. They cant make money on $3 parts. You might try an independent auto door window service. There's one in this area that even offers mobile service.
  2. :You must have inadvertently hit the toggle switch that changes the display. It's easy to do. WOW, that was easy, I feel like a dummy, thanks
  3. I’ve only have my new ’08 ES350 for a few weeks. The 1st time I filled the tank, a msg on the dash showed the “miles remaining for this tank“. I just filled up again and now the Msg on the dash says “Average MPG for this Tank”. I did not change anything that I’m aware of, so how did this change?
  4. Anyone know what is costs to re program a Remote? I’m looking to buy a second hand one that will need re programming.
  5. It’s a little tricky but it does slide up. Use your fingernails or some other sharp object.
  6. Did you look at the GS with AWD?
  7. Of course it's possible. Have you tried to see the service records when the car was "certified" at 24K?
  8. My ES350 has a sunroof so there's no dome light but I dont know if other 350s without sunroofs have dome lights. Mine has two lights under the dash that light up the front floor area and two lights on the bottom of the rear doors for the back floor area. The only way I can get any of those lights to come on it to unlock the car with the remote or open the doors.
  9. I had the same problem on my '97 ES300. One headlight would intermittently not come on. It turned out to be the little "adapter" behind the bulb.
  10. They are not HID lamps. Bulbs typically dont fail intermittently. I suspect it's caused by that "adapter" that plugs in behind the bulb.
  11. Check the adapter that goes in between the head lamp and the plug to the lamp. They tend to burn out or become corroded.
  12. With your foot off of the brake, press the start button twice and they should work. If I hit the START button with my foot on the break the engine starts. As mentioned, have your foot off of the brake pedal when pressing the start button twice. Oops....i miss read you. My bad. thanks
  13. Your post is several months old and gas prices change almost daily but what does your price per gallon average out to with that half & half mix? And how does it compare to the price of middle grade gas?
  14. With your foot off of the brake, press the start button twice and they should work. If I hit the START button with my foot on the break the engine starts.
  15. I have an '08 with factory nav & satellite radio and no shark fin.
  16. Beginning with the 2010'S, the NAV is hard drive based no DVD. that’s interesting because I have found several vers 9.1 DVDs for sale on line.
  17. I have an '08 ES350. Anyone know if the NAVIGATION DVD U91 ver 9.1 (from a 2011 Lexus) will work in my 2008?
  18. No doubt it can be done but at what cost. Start out by buying a wrecked '08 ES, making sure the dash is not damaged. Then dismantle the dash on both cars. Be prepared to spend many many hours or many thousands OF $$$ if you pay someone to do it. GOOD LUCK......LOL
  19. I didn't know you could read cabin temp. I can read outside temp but how do I read cabin temp?
  20. I have taken it for service, (when it was not blowing cold) the coolant was slightly low. The typical scenario is when it's been turned off for a while, then restarted, the a/c blows cold again. In the past months it would go several days to a week or more and work fine, now it starts blowing warm, but not right away, just about every time we go anywhere. Sometimes just before it starts blowing warm I hear a strange sound from under the dash. Hard to describe but I think it is the sound of an air controlled damper or butterfly. This sound does not always occur, but when it does it always starts blowing warm. Once it starts blowing warm it does so for the rest of the trip. I'm trying to give as much info as possible....and suggestions?
  21. when you locate the part you're looking at a "U pull It" you might try approaching some other customers there who look like they might be more mechanically inclined and ask if they would be interested in installing it for you. Just a thought.
  22. the loud squeal is likely the belt that drives the compressor.
  23. I'd get 2 to 3 estimates at reputable shops and start there. If you decide to not fix it and part it out there are two parts I need really badly. My contact is, lmf1957@aol.com. B)
  24. I have a '97 ES300 with an intermittent a/c problem. After 15 to 30 mins of driving, (sometimes longer) the a/c gradually starts blowing warmer. I had the coolant charged but that didn't help. After the car has been off for several hours and re started, the a/c works normally. I suspect it's in the control unit that mixes the warm & cold air. Any help or suggestions?
