  1. I just sent a letter to Leatherseats.com asking them about getting a center console cover made in Sandstone leather (close match to the Lexus tan). I'll keep this thread posted on what they say. Also asked them if a 94 would fit as I know they make them for that.
  2. Yes I have a headrest motor. Sent you a pm.
  3. This is gonna be a pretty wide topic. But it may help someone down the road. My 95 LS had a rather bad door panel. I picked up 3 door panels from a guy who had wrecked his Lexus. I still have the rear door panels as mine are fine shape if someone needs them. They are tan color. I picked up a driver seat that was also in the wreck. The back didn't sit straight on the seat so I transferred the leather to my good seat. This is quite a job and pretty involved. I know some of you had thought about doing it. I did it and it will take you all day and then some for those considering doing it. I have a lot of seat parts left...motors, frame, etc if someone needs some parts. Now what is left is to get the center console recovered. I hope I find someone in town to do it with leather or very close vinyl match. I also could use a passenger seat or the leather upholstery (tan color). I priced the seat cover at Lexus which is totally crazy. The website Leatherseats.com doesn't show seat upholstery for 1995 and 1996 but they do the earlier models. Don't know why that is. And my pet peave is the center caps for the chrome 10 slot wheels. I have a missing Gold Logo and was never able to find just a logo. I found some Logo's on Ebay but they were smaller. Then I thought I got lucky and found a center cap with a gold Logo from Park Place Lexus. But when it got here, it was 7 1/2" diameter which is for an older Lexus. And stranger yet..the Logo was correct and the right size, yet on the back of the cap it said "Taiwan". Finally I just bought a generic center cap from Capitol Hubcap which is a Taiwan item and a generic logo. The Logo I need is 2.730 wide and 2 inches high. I can use either gold or silver (I painted a silver one and it looks pretty good). I know there are a lot of different sizes out there but not sure which years are which sizes. My center caps are chrome and are 7 inches across. If someone stumbles across these logo's or caps please let me know. The center cap I bought will get you by but not best quality for sure. The Logo is glued on and not clipped: http://www.capitalwheels.com/store/custome...05&cat=6&page=1 Another place I found was below. They have the caps available with no logo, a generic logo or with just the slots cut in them so your original logo will fit: http://www.prestigewheel.com/ImageLexusCapsretail.asp
  4. I called on the Ebay ad and talked to the tech guy. He had 89661-50220 and 50221's in stock but did not have the latest 50224 ecu. He said he would check, rebuild and reprogram my existing ECU (50221) for the $99.95 plus $25 shipping. He said they get this done and ship the same day they receive the ecu. To buy an ecu outright was $395. I'll let you know if this works.
  5. A 303 was supposed to be for a 96. If one works for your 95 then I want to dig up a 303.
  6. I am going to call these guys tomorrow. If they will work out a trade deal (trade my cali ecu for a 49 state ecu rebuilt) then I am going to try it.
  7. I am missing a gold logo from my 95 center cap. I don't think you can buy just the logo. Some searching and I find they sell the center cap (mine is chrome) but no mention of the gold logo. My local dealer is a toital joke...just wants to sell me a new Lexus whenever I go there. I found some gold logo's new on Ebay. Supposed to be OEM. I went for it. And they are too small to fit my caps. So..further digging and Ebay has quite few guys listing caps...some chrome..some silver..some gold logo's. And I did some searching here and find quite a few other guys in the past looking for caps or logo's. I know the caps are different..different years. What I think is that 95 to 97 Ls400's are the same. There's a number on the back of the oem cap but not sure if some interchange or not nor am I sure that is a production or part number. So maybe we ought to make a thread here so a guy knows what to look for. I'd buy a silver center cap with a gold logo...throw the cap away..IF...I knew the logo would fit. So anybody willing to pull there center cap off...record the number..etc..maybe this will help me and others. I'll start: 95 Ls 400 10 slot chrome alloy wheel 16 inch. Chrome center cap number 9502. Cap diameter 7.050 inches across. Gold logo measures 2.730 wide x 2.00 inches high. Retained by 4 tabs with 2 locating pins.
  8. Did they happen to give you an invoice or anything with a part number. Curious as to what number they replaced it with.
  9. How many miles are on your car? And do you know if the ECU has been changed? Thanks.
  10. I think he had a 302 and they had a 303 in stock so they sent him that one.
  11. That's the ones. The guy was going to let me pick them up local and save shipping. But I don't think they would work so I let them go.
  12. Thanks, Blake. It's the back right by the B pillar. Seam seperating and leather worn. Looks like you made a very nice find!
  13. Well..here's the deal. This guy has a set of nice seats out of a 99 but looks like that won't work. All that is wrong with my seat is the driver's side back is worn and starting to tear. Cushion is fine. Blake, seems you found some seats for your 95 Lexus a while back. What did you do with your olds ones...still have them?
  14. There's an air bag built into the seat? You know me..I'll modify anything. Within reason. LOL.
  15. Anybody know if 99 Ls400 seats will fit a 95?
  16. All I can tell you is that there is not a different part number ECU called for with or without ect, so it either supports it as is or has to be programmed. I would bet it supports as is.
  17. Rare but does happen. The battery shorts internally. 93 Cad I had "popped" and blew the covers off. Personally I think batteries are made a lot cheaper these days than they used to. They sure do not last like they used to.
  18. And you might want to pull it off and look through the converter. The stuff inside has been known to form a ball when overheated...and restrict the exhaust system.
  19. Yes they are plug and play. But disconnect the battery first before you do anything.
  20. I just happened to stumble upon that auction last night. Hope he fixes it. Are you having the "dying" problem?
  21. I am sooo tempted to take a shot at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW
  22. I have one question. When your Lexus would die after the long freeway drive....would it restart immediately and the problem go away till the next freeway drive? I cannot see how restarting the car would solve the issue..even temporarily....if it were a dirty throttle body. But if your answer is yes...I am more than willing to pull the throttle body off and clean it
  23. You need Adobe reader to view. It's a pdf file. TSB Lexus issued for 1996 that states "Early production vehicles may experience and engine idle speed reduction just before stopping the vehicle after a continuous long drive. To correct this condition, the ECM logic has been changed." While this is for early 1996 models...you can bet 1995's were affected too.
  24. Well, guess what I found? An admission that Lexus knew of the dying problem all along. This is a totally different TSB than I found before. This one fits the 95 problem to a T. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/attachment...achmentid=60660 And that is EXACTLY what the car does. Extremely low idle to the point of the engine dying if a little strain ( such as turning the steering wheel) is put on the engine. Of course the TSB is for 1996's..not 1995's..but it is the same dealio.
  25. You can leave the cd changer in place. Just the glovebox comes out and it's difficult but you can get to it. It's toward the passenger side...there are 2 boxes...the big one is the ecu and the small one is the cruise control computer.
