  1. Ahh, my bad, missed the part about the 'cooled' seats. ;)
  2. I went to order my wallet key from Lexus today, paid $37 with tax, and it will be ready for me tomorrow! I asked about the cluster labor charge, as my engine temperature gauge went dead yesterday after a painful blinking death. My fuel gauge has also been out for quite some time. (Red light) They charge $10 for a bulb, and they want to replace all 10 of them, "Just because they might as well since they're back there." I think they were just talking about the backlighting. I spoke to the service department and they said the needle is a flourscent tube and the whole gauge would need to be replaced. I was told the gauge set would cost $ 898.71, and with labor and taxes.. about $1250. Now I hope there is an alternate solution to this problem, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
  3. I was over at the dealer today.. I must say.. the 2005 ES is amazing! One thing not mentioned above is the seats have air traveling underneath them for a comfortable summer drive. I agree that the headlights are a bit too over-done but still quite innovative. The back tail lights are a beauty, and nicely fashioned. The metallic strip above the license plate looks bad-!Removed!. The interior of the car is very comfortable. They have done a great deal of detailing with the wood trim and overall the interior is a step up.
  4. I'm wondering the same thing. I know lexus has one key that has a botton on the side of the key for unlocking/locking doors, and mine is lost. The dealer wants 185 for a new one. My car documentation came with a green envelope that contains my VIN and key information, that probably is what they use. If there is a cheaper way, someone please advise.
  5. Well today is tomorrow considering my time constraints. Here is the player: http://www.norb.us/show/100_2028.jpg and the wiring to the antenan: http://www.norb.us/show/100_2029.jpg http://www.norb.us/show/100_2030.jpg Any idea which wire to cut?
  6. It's not opposite side. The changer is mounted underneath the back shelf, in between the rear speakers. I'll take a picture tomorrow.
  7. Alright, there is about 400 billion wires around the antenna unit that are coming from the Panasonic disc changer. Will unplugging the plastic plug stop power to the cd changer? I can take a picture of it to show exactly what's going on.\
  8. Simple instructions for removing the driver's side (or passengers side) mirror (replacement glass). Position the mirror so that it looks up, and pry it underneath so it pops out. If it doesn't, go on the side of the (left for the drivers side) and pry it from that side. It should easily come out. Disconnect the wire that raps around the back of the mirror. Use the flat head screwdriver to take it out if you can't do it with your fingers. To place the new replacement mirror in, ensure you've connected the heat wire, hang the two top hooks onto their respective two holes then push down and left to ensure the left two teeth sink in. Simple as that, takes about 2-4 minutes.
  9. Thanks once again, I'll look into it tomorrow.
  10. Along with my lexus I had installed an after-market Pioneer CD Changer (CDX-FM1257, I believe). It runs off 89.1 on my Radio. Is there anyway to disconnect the power to the power antenna so the antenna doesn't come out just to listen to the CD-Player? For example, Lexus models that have CD installed, you click CD and it will lower antenna and play CD.. same with 'TAPE' on the console.. The last time I listened to the radio was 14 months ago when I got the car. :D Any suggestions? -------- Is there another pioneer system like the one I have that play's MP3's? I don't want too much work for myself as I have my tiny control panel for the CD Changer right under the ignition, and I'm hoping it would just include removing the old cd changer and putting the new one in.
  11. Thank you gentlemen for your assistence once again.. I ordered to part through Lexus, and got it at wholesale for $42.09. Damn good price.. Also, which way do I pry it out? and will a flat head screw driver do? Thanks again.
  12. I have a 1993 es300, and the drivers side mirror is cracked straight down the middle. A friend of mine who has the same car, has a cracked passenger side mirror, cracked the same way. Is there anyway to order the actual mirror without the whole assembly? If yes, where and how would I replace it?
  13. Thanks for those tips, though the key remote was lost.
  14. I've done a search and read the FAQ's, so here it goes. I have a 1993 ES300. 1.) The window washer fluid box is leaking dramatically at the bottom where the pump is. The indicator light does not come on either. When I need window washer fluid, I pull over and dump some on my windshield. I looked on the web, and just wanted to make sure that I get the right part: http://www.autobodypartsonline.com/cgi-bin...?p_prodid=19512 2.) The center console, radio, and air conditioning/heating portion has no back lighting. Is this an easy fix? I couldn't find a tutorial on this website, unless someone can point me to one, I'd appreciate it. 3.) The odometer is completely out, it doesn't light up or anything. All the fuses work fine, and speedometer works. Also the needles on the panel flicker. I've been told that the only way to fix the odometer is to send the console in to Lexus so that they can send me another one with the correct mileage. 4.) My antenna was broken in half somewhere towards the bottom of it by some branch. I tried to reshape it, but when it goes in, it only goes in about half way. What part(s) do I need to fix this? 5.) The windows go up really really slowly (front driver/pax sides). Can I get a new motor for it? 6.) The rear driver side door sensor for the light does not work. You open the door, and the light doesn't come on. 7.) Lately, when I turn the key, unlock the door, and pull the handle, the alarm goes off... any ideas? Any help would be appreicated.
