  1. Morgan Freeman drives a black LS430 B)
  2. Option or not... those wheels are horrible.
  3. My vote's for simply adding some finely tuned subs in the back. Stock Lexus systems have always been exceptional, and there's really no need to switch out your head unit unless all those tiny buttons and flashy lights are worth the extra money. Save the cash and simply upgrade the speakers.
  4. I'm looking to upgrade the wheels (sorry, but 16s won't cut it) on my GS and was hoping some of you could share some advice. I'm looking for some chrome rims in 18" or 20", I can't decide. I've seen some other 93-97 GSs with 18s and they seem to fit perfect, but then I've also heard that 20s are the way to go on the GS. I'm also still debating a subtle drop, so I need to take that into consideration. However, after living with dropped Hondas, my days of annoying tire rubbing sounds are over. What's my best bet? P.S. Am I correct in thinking the bolt pattern is 5-114.3?
  5. yep, replaced the battery, and it's still tempermental. My friend has a 96 (I think) with the same problem, regardless of how often he changes the battery.
  6. So I'm here in Orange County, California, and considering how much money everyone around here has, seeing a Lexus isn't out of the ordinary. Seeing something other than some old lady's stock one, though, is quite rare. Just wondering if anyone might be interested in or know of a Lexus owners meet somewhere in the Southern California area. Anyone?
  7. Seeing as how I plan on doing plenty of trips to Vegas, and plenty of sittin around at shows I thought I might look into gettin a dvd/tv setup in my gs. I would like to just get an overhead screen, cuz I don't feel like tearing into my headrests, but I was looking at the headliner the other day, and thought this might be a problem. It appears that the space for the moonroof (when opened) might interfere with the wiring. Am I correct in assuming that, or has someone actually had success with that set up?
  8. ya... way too high. Out of respect for those who don't appreciate foul language, I won't express my true feelings about dealerships. Don't feel alone, though. Couple months ago a Chevy dealer got my mom to shell out $260 to replace the NGK's that I had put into her Camaro. According to them, NGKs are bad for Chevy motors (nevermind they sometimes come stock in certain Chevy motors) and that was why her check engine light came on. Maybe I should start a dealership so I can legally rob people.
  9. Any suggestions on the best place to find factory parts? Also, I'm looking to get the factory service manual for the gs300 if anyone can lead me in the right direction.
  10. For some reason the remote for the door locks on my gs doesn't like to work a majority of the time. I've heard that this is a common problem with the Lexus key remotes. Anyone know of any fix to this problem?
  11. sweet, thanks for the links... I would just bolt up a turbo kit, but my 2jz's already has over 180K miles on it. I haven't checked the compression on it, but I figure it never hurts to have an extra engine ready to drop in should the current one give out. I did some looking around on google, but was pretty dissappointed. Please post up any other links you may know... if possible. Thanks again.
  12. I just got a 94 GS300... and now it's time to study up on engine swaps. Naturally, I'd like to go ahead and drop in a 2JZGTE, but I'd like to study up a lil more first. I'm assuming that since the car comes stock with a 2JZGE the swap should be fairly straight forward... and yes, I have done engine swaps before. I was examining under the hood today in an attempt to determine intake tubing and placement for the intercooler and turbos. Please share all applicable knowledge you might have. Links to comprehensive sites would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
