sound like front wheel bearing to me, toyota shop can put listening sensors on sensitive areas and listen for trouble , thats how they found my bearing going bad,

I use the drain and fill method, started at 50,000 miles, the first drain was brownish in color, i kept a small sample of fluid in a clear bottle, i filled with 4 qts type IV fluid and drove the rx for a week, did another drain and fill, and kept another sample, looks much more red, no brown at all. drove 1000 miles and did a tranny filter change, this procedure is very simple, there are posts on how to do. another small sample taken and looked very good, almost good as new, when compared to new sample. i now have 84000 miles on my 2000 awd rx with drain and fills repeated every 15,000 miles, latest was last week and the tranny fluid was slightly darker than new. this process works for me.

try ebay, toyota part # 89467-48011 use that number in ebay search, i bought mine for less than $100 each

these sensors, air/fuel, 2 each for your engine are toyota made, their toyota part # is 89467-48011, if u search ebay using that number u can get them for less than $100 each, these sensors are made by denso ,for toyota,and their part number is 234-9009. i believe the toyota part number is clearly stamped o the sensor.

i would like to see some positive replies to the early 99/01 awd rx 300 transmissions, how many miles on original , what kind of service is being done to the transmissions, drain and fill, pan and filter replacement, etc. my 00 awd rx has 82000 miles with no trouble to trans, i have performed drain and fills since i bought it in 04 with 49000 miles, will be doing the pan drop and filter change next drain and fill.

i bought my 2000 rx with 50,000 miles on it, i became aware of the tranny problems and started the drain and fill program, first drain fluid was brown, waited 1 week and repeated, i kept a small sample of every drain and compared to new in bottle. took 4 drain and fills over a month time before fluid looked as good as new in bottle. i now do drain and fill every 10000 miles, costs about 20 bucks for each. my next job is pulling the pan and checking the magnets, got my gasket the other day. i know have right at 90,000 miles on my rx, shifts smoothly

can u give the denso part number of the item purchased, the denso website says there is no universal fit for the front 2 fuel ratio sensors

...ahh.... I don't think i lubed anything... I just removed the brake pads and installed new ones in.. :o can u direct me how to find your tutorial on brake pad replacement, front and rear , for a 2000 awd lexus rx 300. thxs marty schluns

i am the second owner of a 2000 awd rx 300, right at the 70,000 mile mark the rear main started to drip, not much, but annoying. i called love lexus of st albans wv and they replaced the seal at no cost to me and gave me a loner car for 2 days. so i am pleased beond belief.

my 2000 rx 300 will be needing the serpentine belt replaced, would anybody have the maintenance instructions for this task, along with the toyota part # for the belt. i would also like to have the 4-wheel disc break procedure, calipers,rotors and pads removal and installation. along with any after markets parts that fit and hold up as well as oem. one item on transmission fluid i have ,over the last yr drained and refilled, using 4 qts toyota iv fluid a total of 4 times and my fluid is now red not brownish. shifts better also. good advice from this forum, i plan on doing this once per yr from here on out. milage on rx300 is 125,000

50,000 miles on the car, with the new factory bridgestone tires the noise is easier to hear,its steady and the one thing i noticed is that when going about 35-40 and then coming to normal stop the noise is their but the growling turns to more of a rumbling sound until about 5 mph. on take off it reappears at about 20 mph.

i have a 2000 awd rx, i have what 2 dealers, 1 in chicago and 1 in davenport ia, told me was tire noise,too agressive of a tire, so i changed the tires to the original bridgestone dueller, made the noise worse. it sounds like a low growling with some vibration under the front feet, the noise starts at about 20 mph and becomes very annoying at about 40 mph, once the car gets to highway speed its much better but the pitch is different and more tolerable. i am about 100 miles from a dealer. would this be a warranty item if its in the driveline somewhere. thxs marty schluns
