SC-SEI
To All Hi, I have a 92 SC300 that runs great but I noticed that the Tach is always high. So, while I was getting a smog check my assumption was correct. When the car was hooked up to the smog check computer, at idle it was 836 rpm and the Tach needle was at 1200 rpm. He had the engine at 2000 rpm on the computer and the needle was at 3000 rpm. It averaged about 50% higher than what it actually was. Does anybody have any suggestion on how to correct this? Any suggestions or questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks SC B)
LexKid630
what you could just do is take the cluster out of the dash, take off the tinted plastic cover and move the tach needle counter clockwise a little...it will automatically proportionialise..at least it did on most other dashes
johnny3
Does it fall to zero or the peg when engines off?
