mpowerluke
Just curious to see if the 400 has all the same mounts etc etc... also, does the 400 have the chassis cut out's for a manual trans? Like brake and clutch petal cut outs ? Thanks
jzz30
the mounts might be different but the sluminum subframe is the same , you need to cut out a hole in the fire wall for the clutch master cylinder and apparently a bigger hole for the shifter. Lexual
rumor is going from the v8 to the i6 sucks a big fat chia pet, well you get the idea anyway
SleepySC
2jzgte bolts right in with stock mounts (no need for custom). Search here and at clublexus for info.
OKSC3
I could see it bolting in on the 300, but how would it bolt in to the same mounts on the 400? I find it hard to belive that an I-6 and a V-8 would share mounts.
jzz30
well if you have seen both you can kind of make it out. the v8 is wider right? so well of course the aluminum i guess you can say sub mount is narrower, than the wide i6 sub mount. i dont know if you get what i am trying to say. Masubi
How about this... We are doing this in my friends car right now... You need different engine mounts for the 400, but the subframe is the same. Supra one work great. Don't forget, since the 400 is automatic you need a tranny too and a driveshaft. You do have to cut a hole for the clutch pedal. I am putting a soarer 1jz in my car so most of the plugs connect, however my friend is using a JZA70 motor and most of the wiring needs to be modified. Anyhow, hope this helps.
