Rear hatch closes by itself

If there was significant snow on my ’09 RX, the rear hatch when opened would get to the ¾ open position and then close itself automatically.  Lately, it does the same thing when it’s simply raining.  The hatch operates fine on a dry day.  This only happens when using the “power” feature of the hatch, not when opening it manually.  Is this simply a matter of worn hatch struts or is there a sensitivity setting for the hatch that can be adjusted ?

Sounds like the strut, or struts are weak.

Were you able to remedy the rear hatch problem that you're having?

I have seen a few answers to this same question and everyone is the same - The struts need to be replaced. Apparently, once the door gets past the midpoint of travel, the struts take over and finish opening the hatch door.
