Dlbama1 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 what is correct way to remove these center wheel caps without breaking them. Lost one today and noticed 2 others loose due to broken plastic clip. Obviously done at tire shop where just had new tires put on. I have 3 new on the way . Does wheel need to be removed? Special tool?
1990LS400 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I've always used the blunt end of a wooden hammer handle to pop out the wheel centers of Toyota and Lexus vehicles and I've never broken one. The tabs are probably getting broken when the wheel centers are put back in since they have to be removed to spin balance a wheel. Tire monkeys are often the least skilled of anybody at repair shops, tire stores and dealerships. Yes, I've always had to remove a wheel in order to pop out a wheel center.
piskurad Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Where did you buy the center cap? How much was the cost? ThankYou
