Bronto Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Folks, On going issue with this Lexus LS. It wasn't idling or turning over sooo, I've had... -Ignition cap and rotor, ignition coil, replaced -spark plugs replaced - spark plug wires replaced.. And now the guy says they found the cam and crankshaft position sensors need to be replaced... $1k He says it runs but not well and cuts off... HELP?!
landar Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 wow Brian, $1k to replace cam and crank sensors? That's a bit on the high side. First thing to check is codes. You can test them yourself using this procedure -> http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html If there are codes then you can use them to go down the correct path. I am really thinking it may be time to consider another mechanic more familiar with Lexus.
sha4000 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 1k to change those sensors is just absurd. I would find a new mechanic also.
