Some IAC's have screws attaching the black connector part, but 1994 IAC has no screws. Trying to take it apart to clean and can't find instructions anywhere, or screws. Dumb blonde moment?

There are none to be seen. Profile picture is the IACV in question. Some have screws around the black round part that hold it on, but this one does not.

No, it says Toyota on it. Guess I might have to go to the dealer and ask.

Ok. The Chinese have been known to knock off parts even putting "Toyota" (or whatever) on it.

Let's back up a moment. What seems to the the root problem with your car? Not idling correctly? Could be a cheap replacement IACV...unless you know the history of the engine. Just saying.

It looks original and has part number on it. Car started hesitating for a split second at a time, with engine light, and then would go back to normal. After a while, that turned into longer episodes and car would not go over 10 mihr. Cleaned throttle body, changed plugs, wires, air filter, caps, rotors, and both coils. In cleaning throttle body, I removed the tps, not knowing what a headache it is to adjust with meter and feeler guage. Ohm checked tps while off and had smooth resistance change. Adjusted tps (less than 2 ohms closed, and no continuity with .20 feeler). Car doesn't start now. Decided to clean IACV when I realized I can't take it apart. Visible interior of IAC is carbon coated. There are many on ebay for over $500 with no screws.

That history helps. It sounds like you 'shotgunned' the original issue and got into more than you should have. But that's in the past now. I would have tried to pull a code to see what the system was complaining about (you might still try). Your original issue of not going over 10 MPH does not sound like IACV.

I would not try cleaning the IACV at this point. Leave it alone and go after the root cause of no start. Let's get this issue divided into either spark or fuel. Grab a can of starter fluid and spritz some (sparingly) into the open end of the throttle body and crank to see if the engine at least tries to start (of course it won't stay running). That will at least get you going down the right path of either fuel delivery or spark. Basic troubleshooting.

I've tried that and am confident in fixing the car. Was hoping someone knew about the IAC. There were never any codes.

Yes, profile picture is the IAC. Part number 2227050020. I called the dealer and they wouldn't tell me anything. Someome on another lexus forum is having the same issue.

I don't think the IACV is serviceable on the 94 which has part#22270-50020 The old part number which you can remove it is 22270-50010.
