Hi All;

In my younger days I lusted after an LS400...when you drove one of these,

they used to say you have "arrived". I eventually got one years ago and sawls.JPGlsc.JPGlsd.JPG what they meant.

This handsome fella has 165,000 on it, but still runs like the day it was new,

would love a 460 but I may die with this old 95. Bottom line is there is no GOOD reason to trade/sell it.

Hope you other guys are this lucky!

Shes a beaut but she's a senior citizen too. Don't be surprised if she needs a knee or hip replacement down the road. Without health insurance you'll be footing that bill and deciding repair value vs. value of car tradeoffs. Don't get overly emotional, its just a car.

Yes she does look nice. But life is short and if you would like a 460 and have the coin, I say 'go for it'... none of us are getting any younger. Keep this one for a 'spare'. ;)

Thanks, Guys...I'm figuring trade in and resale on this old guy is next to nothing, a 95 model with 165K on it

isn't worth that much. I think I'll keep driving until something "major" breaks or wears out, then get the 460

Heck, it's free miles at this point less the gas/oil. And I've been seen in a lot worse...LOL

Tom I'm with you on keeping the car. My 98 GS is the exact colour combo I wanted, it's still got less than 100k miles on it, runs like new, and is better than most new cars I've ridden or driven. Until it decides to break in some major way, it will be in the family. Even then I might fix it.....

I guess you've got 15k miles until the timing belt change 'major' repair. Then its time!

Have you considered a nice, clean, late model LS430? Heck of a car and I have heard better than the 460 (certainly cheaper).

I can tell you from recent experience! After totaling my 2004 LS430 and looking at several 460s, I decided the premium wasn't really worth it and went for an almost identical '05 LS 430. The only weird part was not really getting that "new car" feeling. It was more like getting my old car back from the body shop I guess.

That said, 04-06 LS430s are the best bargain in the motoring world at this time. 70K worth of car for 15-20K.

Agreed - the wife has the GS now and when I replace the Corvette it will be a 04-06 LS430.

Is that a Mark V Dalek Manny? The Mark 1's scared the crap out of me in the sixties when I was a kid!

At the risk of showing too much geeky knowledge, that's Dalek Sec, which is technically a whole new "series" of Dalek being one of the "Cult of Skaro" elite Daleks built to think like the enemy. There are a few of them and they have names like Caan and Jast and of course, Sec. Sec is the coolest looking in his black casing. So maybe Series V.1?

If you can find an '06 with low miles, go for it as I feel it's the best of the best. NO ONE sells them. The only '06 models I found were either base, had too many miles or way overpriced. Go ahead, go on ebay... there's never more than 10 for sale at any one time. As soon as I saw an '05 with under 50K miles on it, I jumped at it!

I still think these cars are the absolute best value for the money... used, that is...

I need some intervention... as I seem to buy them at will... but not the 460... that does not appeal to me...

Recently upgraded my mom from 95 to 2001 LS430 and she is in heaven... something about heated seats for an older person ....

I lust after my dad's 93 that only has 120k miles, and enjoy both the 99 and 2004 we have already...

But her old 95 with 139K on does great also... just not worth many $$ but a great driving car.

I probably need to see a specialist....

I have never owned or driven a 430 or 460, and I have had 12 LS's total so far. 5. 99's, they are my favorite. 1. 97, 2. 96's, 2. 95's, 1. 94, and 1. 92. the 90-94 seemed to have too many weaknesses (that needed fixing), the 95-97 I believe were the strongest and toughest ever built..... but the 98-2000 drive, ride, handling, and just the feel you experienced going down the road plus the most appealing looks of any auto.... wow, I love them... they are so quite and solid... even getting out and closing the door is an experiencing event, no other door closes like it...

Well to each his own, but that is "my" opinion... keep up the good comments, and photos.

Wow...and I thought I'd been through a lot of LS cars...but you beat me by a long shot.

Like you, once I bought my first one, I was hooked and didn't look back.

I'm with you Billy on the ride, drive, looks of the 98-2000 models...come on by sometime and I'll let you drive the 430... then you can be happy with your 400...

Keep up the good work.

I drove a 460...beautiful car but not as "solid" overall as my 95. Certainly not worth

all that money difference (to me at least)

I agree when you open and close the doors and especially when you sit in it it exudes an air of

special luxury, no American car I've ever owned (and I've owned about all of em at one time or another) is built like this.

I'll keep drivin and if a 98-2000 400 pops up with low miles down the road that may be the route I take.

We winter in Florida and there's always a senior owned low mile one somewhere for sale.

Thanks again for the nice comments! Enjoy!
